This work presents,design and specific absorption rate(SAR)analysis of a 37GHz antenna,for 5th Generation(5G)applications.The proposed antenna comprises of 4-elements of rectangular patch and an even distribution.The radiating element is composed of copper material supported by Rogers RT5880 substrate of thickness,0.254 mm,dielectric constant(εr),2.2,and loss tangent,0.0009.The 4-elements array antenna is compact in size with a dimension of 8mm×20mm in length and width.The radiating patch is excited with a 50 ohms connector i.e.,K-type.The antenna resonates in the frequency band of 37 GHz,that covers the 5G applications.The antenna behavior is studied both in free space and in the proximity of the human body.Three models of the human body,i.e.,belly,hand,and head(contain skin,fat,muscles,and bone)are considered for on-body simulations.At resonant frequency,the antenna gives a boresight gain of 11.6 dB.The antenna radiates efficiently with a radiated efficiency of more than 90%.Also,it is observed that the antenna detunes to the lowest in the proximity of the human body,but still a good impedance matching is achieved considering the−10 dB criteria.Moreover,SAR is also being presented.The safe limit of 2 W/kg for any 10 g of biological tissue,specified by the European International Electro Technical Commission(IEC)has been considered.The calculated values of SAR for human body models,i.e.,belly,hand and head are 1.82,1.81 and 1.09 W/kg,respectively.The SAR values are less than the international recommendations for the three models.Furthermore,the simulated and measured results of the antenna are in close agreement,which makes it,a potential candidate for the fifth-generation smart phones and other handheld devices.

In this study,a compact 2×2 interlaced sequentially rotated dual-polarized dielectric-resonator antenna array is proposed for 5.8 GHz applications.The array is composed of a novel unit elements that are made of rectangular dielectric resonator(RDR)coupled to an eye slot for generating the orthogonal modes,TEδx 21 and TE1yδ1 to acquire circular polarization(CP)radiation.For the purpose of miniaturization and achieving dual polarized resonance,the array is fed by two interlaced ports and each port excites two radiating elements.The first port feeds horizontal elements to obtain left hand circular polarization(LHCP).The second port feeds vertical elements to obtain right hand circular polarization(RHCP).A quarter-wave length transformer is employed to reduce the attenuation and consequently increase the array gain performance.The 35×35 mm2(0.676λ0×0.676λ0)gains were 8.4 and 8.2 dBi for port 1 and port 2,respectively,with port isolations of−33.51 dB.The design achieves a voltage standing-wave ratio(VSWR)<−10 dB and an axial ratio(AR)<−3 dB bandwidth of 2.48%(5.766 to 5.911 GHz)for LHCP at port 1 and a VSWR<−10 dB and AR<−3 dB bandwidth of 2.28%(5.788 to 5.922 GHz)for RHCP at port 2.The findings of the proposed design validate its use for ISM band applications.

As an important part of phased array system,the research on phased array antenna is very necessary.The phased array antenna achieves the scanning beam adaptively by regulating the phase difference between each array element.In this paper,a dual K-band circularly polarized antenna with high broadband,broadband beam,wide axial ratio bandwidth and high radiation efficiency is designed.We combine with the advantages of slot antenna and aperture antenna,use multimode waveguide cavity structure to design an aperture antenna,which is fed to waveguide circular polarizer by slot coupling in order to realize circular polarization radiation.Meanwhile,it has the characteristics of broadband,broadband beam,wide axial ratio bandwidth and high radiation efficiency.A slit antenna is designed by using a multimode waveguide cavity structure and a slit coupling feed to a waveguide circular polarizer is used to achieve circularly polarized radiation.The designed antenna consists of two K-band circularly polarized antenna units,and the spacing between the two units is 9.5 mm,which is fed by aK-band T/R module(Transmitter/Receiver module).In order to study the performance of the pattern in the case of the research group,the 2-unit structure is established.The simulation results of frequency–axial ratio bandwidth are given,and the simulation result of the antenna array is shown.The practical results of antenna design and test are also given.

Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to propose radiating system by avoiding electromagnetic interference in unwanted directions and to radiate the energy in the required direction with an optimization technique.Design/methodology/approach-Practically,multiple,incompatible variables require concurrent boost on a synthesis of systematic antenna assemblage.The authors have worked out the main statistic penalty function to ensure all the restrictions.Here,MBPSO(Modified Binary Particle Swarm Optimization)is developed and introduced thin planar synthesis restriction.The sigmoid function is used to update the particle position.Different analytical demonstrations have been carried out,and the exhibited methods are predominant than the algorithms.Findings-A 20310 planar antenna array is synthesized using modified BPSO.The authors have suppressed the PSLL in two principal planes and as well as in the entire f plane.Numerical results state that MBPSO outperforms the other binary BPSO,BCSO,ACO,RGA,GAoptimization techniques.MBPSO achieved a51.84 dB PSLL level,whereas BPSO achieved48.57 dB with the same 50%thinning.Originality/value-Planar array antenna formation is one of the most complex syntheses because the array gets filled with more antenna elements.The machine-like complication and implementation of such an antenna arrangement with a broad opening would be expensive.It is not easy to control the required radiation patterns shape by using a uniform feeding network.To get better flexibility for sustaining the sidelobe levelheaded along with consistent amplitude distribution.So as far as prominence has been given to the evolutionary algorithm,find an ideal solution for objective array combinational problems.

A multiple frequency cancellation(MFC)method is proposed for stealth design of ultra-wide band(UWB)end-fire antenna array.The proposed method can produce significant radar cross section(RCS)reduction in the whole operating band.The 1×4 and 4×4 Vivaldi antenna arrays of different kinds of cancellation structures are discussed as examples to validate the effectiveness of the MFC method on both linear and planar arrays.On average,22.6 dB reduction of monostatic radar cross section(MRCS)is obtained in the whole X-band.MRCS under oblique incident waves is also reduced within±60°.Basically favorable radiation characteristics are maintained.

Theoretical analysis and comparison of OAM waves generated by three kinds of antenna array

antenna array is one of the methods which can generate Orbital Angular Momentum(OAM)waves.However,OAM waves generated by different antenna arrays have different characteristics of Electric-field(E-field)com-ponents'distribution and radiation patterns.In order to solve this problem,we derive E-feld formulas of OAM waves generated by different kinds of dipole antenna array in this paper.The dipole antenna arrays are arranged by three methods:1)antenna elements are in the same direction of y axis,2)antenna elements are in the radial direction and 3)antenna elements are in the azimuthal direction.Results show that x components,y components and z components carry different OAM modes under the three conditions.Simulation results show that the same direction antenna array produces the best OAM waves because the y component is dominated by OAM mode l and RHCP/LHCP waves are negligible in energy,while the pure OAM waves carried by the z components generated by the other two antenna arrays have little energy.In addition,only the radiation pattern ofl=0 produced by the same direction antenna array does not have a null zone in the propagation direction.Radiation patterns of l=±1 do not have null zones in the propagation direction generated by other two antenna arrays.

A pre-processing blind muhiuser detection algorithms based on the least squares constant modulus （P-LSCMA） using antenna array is proposed in this paper. It first uses the signals received from every antenna to correlate with the conjugation of the DoA vector of the expected user, and then applies the pre-processed signals to the LSCMA. We simulate and compare the proposed algorithm with the conventional LSCMA. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to LSCMA.

The electromagnetic surface antenna array(EMSAA)has been proposed for obtaining reflection suppression and excellent radiation simultaneously.The antenna with rectangular radiation patch is used to design anisotropic electromagnetic surface.Preternatural reflection characteristics of the element antenna can be tailored depending on the incident polarizations.EMSAA can be constructed by using single structured element antenna with 90° rotation and orthometric arrangement.This orthometric arrangement of EMSAA is helpful to achieve reflection suppression and excellent radiation.The simulated results show that the reflection of EMSAA is suppressed from 5.0 GHz to 8.0 GHz with peak reduction of 12.3 dB.The linear-and circular-polarized radiation properties of EMSAA are obtained and the maximum gain is 14.3 dBi.The measured results are consistent with the simulation results.The results demonstrate that the reflection suppression and excellent radiation are achieved simultaneously.Such design of EMSAA will open the path for integrating antenna fields and electromagnetic surface(EMS)fields.

In this paper, a fundamental advancement of the basic helix design which expands to array having good bandwidth is proposed. The helix is inserted in a cavity. The result is a new antenna design that offers the performance characteristics and advantages of the conven-tional helix but in a much more compact physical size envelope. A 4-element rectangular helical array has been designed. For miniaturization and impedance matching, the helical wire is replaced by a rectangular cross sectioned strip. It has been observed that when the helix is inserted in a cavity, it behaves differently from a normal helical antenna. The effects of the cavity on the number of turns, the impedance of total antenna, and the reflection coefficient have been analyzed. The array is designed for 2.4 GHz. The return loss obtained is less than - 10 dB and the bandwidth is more than 1.3 GHz for the array.
