Allergic diseases are widespread globally,affecting over 40%of the *** allergy(FA),characterized by an abnormal immune response to harmless proteins in foods,is one of these prevalent *** estimates suggest that approximately 220 million people worldwide suffer from FA(1).In children,over one-third of parents report their children experiencing hypersensitive reactions to food,with FA affecting around 8%of this demographic.

Biomedical investigations in nanotherapeutics and nanomedicine have recently intensified in pursuit of new therapies with improved *** dots(QDs)are promising nanomaterials that possess a wide array of advantageous properties,including electronic properties,optical properties,and engineered biocompatibility under physiological *** to these characteristics,QDs are mainly used for biomedical labeling and theranostic(therapeutic-diagnostic)*** can be functionalized with ligands to facilitate their interaction with the immune system,specific IgE,and effector cell ***,undesirable side effects such as hypersensitivity and toxicity may occur,requiring further *** review systematically summarizes the potential uses of QDs in the allergy *** overview of the definition and development of QDs is provided,along with the applications of QDs in allergy studies,including the detection of allergen-specific IgE(sIgE),food allergens,and sIgE in cellular *** potential treatment of allergies with QDs is also described,highlighting the toxicity and biocompatibility of these ***,we discuss the current findings on the immunotoxicity of *** favorable points regarding the use of QDs for allergy diagnosis and treatment are noted.

Assessment of immune responses and intestinal flora in BALB/c mice model of wheat food allergy via different sensitization methods

Increasing incidences showed that food allergies have attracted more and more attention from ***/c mice were sensitized with wheat gluten combined with aluminum hydroxide adjuvant via intraperitoneal injection,transdermal sensitization,and oral gavage sensitization *** showed that all the three sensitization methods could induce allergic symptoms;increase the serum antibody(total immunoglobulin E(IgE),specific IgE,IgG,IgA)and histamine content;promote the secretion of Th2 cytokines(interleukin(IL)-4,IL-5,IL-13)and inflammatory factors(IL-6,IL-17 A,IL-10);and inhibit the production of Th1 cytokines(IFN-γ,IL-2).However,the allergic symptoms of mice sensitized by intraperitoneal injection were the most obvious among the three *** level of serum antibodies in intraperitoneal injection group was significantly higher than ***,16 S rRNA sequencing technology was used to analyze the intestinal flora of *** results showed that the abundance of Firmicutes in the wheat protein sensitized group was lower than that in the normal group,while the abundance of Bacteroidetes was higher,and Lactobacillus was the difference marker in normal *** species diversity analysis showed that the species richness and diversity of intestinal flora in mice were decreased,the difference between mice induced by intraperitoneal injection and normal control group mice was the most *** together,these results show that among three sensitization methods used to build a mouse model with aluminum hydroxide as adjuvant,intraperitoneal injection is the comparably best way to build a mouse sensitization mode.

Globally,the prevalence of food allergy in children is estimated to be approximately 4%to 10%.[1]Food allergy usually begins early in the allergic march,and cow's milk allergy(CMA)is one of the most common food allergens in infants and *** Europe,the overall incidence of challenge-proven CMA is 0.54%,and in the United States,the overall prevalence is 0.4%and pediatric prevalence is 1.9%.[2–4]In China,the prevalence of oral food challenge(OFC)-confirmed CMA is 0.83%to 3.5%in various cities.[5]Double-blind placebo-controlled food challenge is not applied widely in clinical practice because of its complex process and the risk of anaphylaxis for patients that receive the ***-specific IgE(sIgE)is usually used as a critical assessment method for food allergy.

Tropomyosin(TM)in shrimp is one of the predominant causes of food allergy around the *** the present study,the effect of seabuckthorn juice against TM-induced shrimp allergy was investigated in BALB/c *** symptoms,spleen index,intestinal section and diarrhea were measured in shrimp allergy *** the results,seabuckthorn juice suppressed the lesions in jejunum tissue,diarrhea and allergic symptoms in shrimp allergy *** juice also reduced serum concentrations of tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-α)as well as immunoglobulin E(IgE)and stimulated the secretion of interleukin-10(IL-10)in mice with shrimp *** together,our findings suggest that increased IL-10 by seabuckthorn juice inhibits Th2 cytokine production to suppress shrimp allergic ***,seabuckthorn juice also regulates shrimp allergy by reducing jejunum lesions,inhibiting levels of TNF-αand IgE.

The number of people with food allergy(FA)has increased in recent decades,as has the number of foods to which they are *** of FA prevalence vary widely,likely because of different definitions,evaluated foods and geo-graphic *** developed countries,overall preva-lence estimates range from 1.9%to 7.2%[1,2].In Latin America,the prevalence of FA in children is between 1.4%and 5.3%[3-6],with important age-based variations(from 1.9%in infants to 0.4%in preschoolers)[7].FA is a complex trait in which the interplay of genetic and environmental fac-tors results in disease ***-known factors that increase atopic susceptibility include sex[8,9],age[10],and socioeconomic status[11-13].Furthermore,the asso-ciation between family history of allergies and childhood FA has been consistently reported in recent ***,a maternal history of allergic disease appears to be more strongly associated with FA than paternal history of atopy[14].

Objective To investigate the serum total IgE （tlgE） and specific IgE （slgE） to common allergens among allergic patients in Guangzhou, China. Methods 7 085 patients were examined for tlgE and slgE to 15 allergens, based on the protocols of reversed enzyme allergosorbent test and the sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results 3 758 （53.04%） patients tested positive for tlgE, and 4 640 （65.49%） for slgE. Der pteronyssinus, Derfarinae, eggs, and cow＇s milk were the most common allergens leading to higher positive rates of slgE responses. Several peaks of sensitization were： Der pteronyssinus, Derfarinae, and Blomia tropicalis at age 10-12; cow＇s milk at age below 3; eggs at age 4-6. The mean level and positive rate of tlgE tended to increase in subjects sensitized to more allergens. Sensitization to Der pteronyssinus （OR, 1.6; P〈O.05）, Der farinae （OR, 1.5; P〈O.05）, Blomia tropicalis （OR, 1.4; P〈O.05）, Blattella germanica （OR, 1.5; P〈O.05）, cow＇s milk （OR, 1.3; P〈O.05）, and soy beans （OR, 2.0; P〈O.05） were independently correlated with allergy-related conditions in preliminary diagnosis. Conclusion The major allergens in Guangzhou include Derpteronyssinus, Derfarinae, cow＇s milk, and eggs. Sensitization to these allergens appears to be predictors of allergy-related disorder.

allergy,airway hyperreactivity （AHR）,and allergic asthma are risk factors of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease （COPD）,a heterogeneous disease presenting with various *** allergic phenotype of COPD,characterized by more severe respiratory symptoms and higher risk of acute exacerbations,was described recently.[1] Further investigations into the role of allergy in the pathogenesis and/or expressions of COPD may lead to new modalities targeting the allergic component,a potentially treatable feature of a progressive disease like COPD.

Background:allergy march refers to progression of allergic diseases from infantile food allergy to the development of asthma and allergic rhinitis (AR).Evidence come mostly from studies in European *** study aimed to investigate allergy march in Chinese children with infantile food protein allergy (FPA) with a special focus on the effect of different formula ***:From 2008 to 2010,153 infants diagnosed with FPA were recruited in five tertiary hospitals across *** were randomly treated with amino-acid-based formula or soy-protein-based formula for a period of 3 ***-term follow-up was performed when they reached early school age,using questionnaires,physical examinations,and serum-specific immunoglobulin ***:The overall follow-up rate was 73.20%.In patients who reached their early school years,the prevalence of physician-diagnosed AR and asthma were 43.75% and 23.21%,*** 40% of the subjects remained positive for food sensitizations upon ***-six subjects receiving aeroallergen screening tests in infancy all proved negative,but upon follow-up,65.57% were sensitized to aeroallergens (P=0.005).No significant difference between the effects of amino-acid-based formula and soy-protein-based formula on children's allergy march was ***:A high proportion (47.32%) of Chinese infants with early allergic symptoms developed respiratory allergies by their early school *** food-sensitized infants outgrew their condition several years later,but then aeroallergen sensitization often ***-acid-based formula showed no advantages over soy protein-based formula with respect to arresting the allergy march.

T cell recognition of foreign peptide antigen and toler-ance to self peptides is key to the proper function of the immune ***,in the thymus T cells that rec-ognize self MHC+self peptides are deleted and those with the potential to recognize self MHC+foreign pep-tides are selected to *** there are excep-tions to these *** and allergy are two of the most common immune diseases that can be related to recognition of *** genes work together to lead to *** those,particular MHC alleles are the most strongly associated,reflecting the key importance of MHC presentation of self peptides in autoimmunity.T cells specific for combinations of self MHC and self pep-tides may escape thymus deletion,and thus be able to drive autoimmunity,for several reasons:the relevant self peptide may be presented at low abundance in the thy-mus but at high level in particular peripheral tissues;the relevant self peptide may bind to MHC in an unusual register,not present in the thymus but apparent else-where;finally the relevant self peptide may be post translationally modified in a tissue specific *** some types of allergy,the peptide+MHC combination may also be fully derived from *** the combi-nation in question may be modified by the presence of other ligands,such as small drug molecules or metal *** these types of allergies may act like the post translationally modified peptides involved some types of autoimmunity.
