Calculation of all-time apparent resistivity of large loop transient electromagnetic method with very fast simulated annealing

In large loop transient electromagnetic method(TEM),the late time apparent resistivity formula cannot truly reflect the geoelectric model,thus it needs to define the all-time apparent resistivity with the position information of measuring *** very fast simulated annealing(VFSA) to fit the theoretical electromagnetic force(EMF) and measured EMF could obtain the all-time apparent resistivity of the measuring points in rectangular transmitting *** selective cope of initial model of VFSA could be confirmed by taking the late time apparent resistivity of transient electromagnetic method as the prior *** verifying the correctness,the all-time apparent resistivities of the geoelectric models were calculated by VFSA and dichotomy,*** results indicate that the relative differences of apparent resistivities calculated by these two methods are within 3%.The change of measuring point position has little influence on the tracing pattern of all-time apparent *** first branch of the curve of all-time apparent resistivity is close to the resistivity of the first layer medium and the last branch is close to the resistivity of the last layer medium,which proves the correctness of the arithmetics proposed.

Pseudo-Magnetotelluric 2D Inversion Technology of Magnetic-Source Transient Electromagnetics

Based on the fact that it is diffi cult to implement optimum inversion using 2D and 3D forward modeling with magnetic-source transient electromagnetics(TEM),this paper explores a novel approach to the implementation of 2D magnetic-source TEM *** particular,we converted magnetic-source TEM data into magnetotelluric(MT)data and then used a 2D MT inversion method to implement a 2D magnetic-source TEM inversion ***,we studied the similarity between magnetic-source TEM waves and MT waves and between magnetic-source TEM all-time apparent resistivity and MT Cagniard apparent ***,we selected an optimal time-frequency transformation coeffi cient to implement rapid time-frequency transformation of all-time TEM apparent resistivity to MT Cagniard apparent ***,we conducted 1D pseudo-MT inversions of magnetic-source 1D TEM theoretical *** 1D inversion results demonstrated that the diff erence between the inversion parameters and model parameters was small,while the MT 1D inversion method could be used to conduct magnetic 1D TEM inversion within a certain margin of *** further conducted 2D pseudo-MT inversions of 3D magnetic-source TEM theoretical models,and the 2D inversion results indicated that selecting a joint 2D pseudo-MT transverse-electric(TE)and transverse-magnetic(TM)inversion method based on measuring the line above a 3D anomalous body can help to accurately implement a 2D inversion interpretation of the 3D TEM response.

Inverse Spline Interpolation for all-time resistivity of Central-Loop TEM

A convenient numerical calculation method (inverse spline interpolation) for all-time apparent resistivity intransient electromagnetic method (TEM) is proposed in this paper. Characteristic of early and late normalized inductiveelectromotive force was investigated. According to the turning point, the transient process is divided into the earlyphase, the turning point, and the late phase. Afterwards, apparent resistivity is obtained through inverse spline interpo-lation in the early and the late phases, respectively. Finally, the resistivities of the early-time and the late-time wereconnected together by the turning point. The result shows that the inverse spline method is feasible and the method alsolays a foundation for initial model construction in the TEM automatic inversion.
