Organic salt mediated growth of phase pure and stable all-inorganic CsPbX3（X = I, Br） perovskites for efficient photovoltaics

all-inorganic CsPbX3(X = I, Br) perovskites without organic component are promising for long-term stability but face main challenges of facile fabrication and phase stability. Here we discover a general organic methylamine acetate salt mediated growth method to deposit high quality phase pure and stable CsPbX3(X = I, Br) perovskite films via a novel precursor consisting of stoichiometric cesium acetate(CsAc),methylamine halide(MAX) and lead halide(PbX2). Interestingly, these organic salts of CsAc and MAX could efficiently promote the crystallization process especially lower the crystallization temperature,but do not introduce the incorporation of organic MA cation into all-inorganic CsPbX3 *** phase pure and stable CsPbX3 perovskites with tunable band gaps can be fabricated into high efficiency photovoltaics. Our organic salt mediated growth of all-inorganic perovskite not only reveals the all-inorganic CsPbX3 perovskite’s unique crystal growth mechanism but also demonstrates their promising application for photovoltaics.

Weak light imaging has drawn more and more attention because of its promising potential for practical applications in security monitoring and space exploration. In this work, all-inorganic Cs2AgBiBr6 double perovskite-based self-powered photodetectors containing inorganic copper thiocyanate(CuSCN) as hole-transport layers(HTLs) are successfully fabricated and applied for weak light imaging,which is the first report on the weak light imaging application of all-inorganic lead-free perovskite photodetectors. CuSCN films with favorable optical property and hole extraction capability are prepared via a cost efficient and fast solvent removal method, demonstrating the potential for high-performance perovskite-based devices as transparent components. It is revealed that the band alignment of the device is effectively optimized with the presence of CuSCN HTLs,which can availably transport holes while block electrons at the Cs2AgBiBr6/CuSCN interface, resulting in remarkable improvement of photoresponse performance. The responsivity and detectivity are 0.34 A W^-1 and 1.03×10^13 Jones,respectively. In particular, the light current has a boost of almost 10 times. Furthermore, the photodetectors are integrated into a self-built light detection imaging system utilizing the focused laser scanning imaging mode. With illumination of as low as 5 nW cm^-2(405 nm), the image involving graphics and words with a size of 5 cm×5 cm can still be distinctly recognized. These results suggest the promising potential of all-inorganic perovskite-based devices for weak light detection and imaging applications.

The degradation mechanism of the all-inorganic perovskite solar cells in the ambient environment remains *** this paper,water and oxygen molecule adsorptions on the all-inorganic perovskite(CsPbBr_(3))surface are studied by density-functional theory *** terms of the adsorption energy,the water molecules are more susceptible than the oxygen molecules to be adsorbed on the CsPbBr_(3)*** water molecules can be adsorbed on both the CsBr-and PbBr-terminated surfaces,but the oxygen molecules tend to be selectively adsorbed on the CsBr-terminated surface instead of the PbBr-terminated one due to the significant adsorption energy *** the adsorbed water molecules only contribute deep states,the oxygen molecules introduce interfacial states inside the bandgap of the perovskite,which would significantly impact the chemical and transport properties of the ***,special attention should be paid to reduce the oxygen concentration in the environment during the device fabrication process so as to improve the stability and performance of the CsPbBr_(3)-based devices.

perovskite nanocrystals(NCs)with high stabilities and excellent optical perfor-mances are crucial for display ***,to date,perovskite emitters with both high photoluminescence(PL)quantum yield(PLQY)and high stabili-ties under harsh synergistic humidity–heat–light aging conditions have not been *** promising high-temperature solid-state sintering with single oxide matrices cannot ensure high PLQY and synergistic aging stabilities of ***,both the PLQY and overall(thermal,moisture,and photo)stabilities of all-inorganic perovskite(CsPbBr_(3))NCs are improved by dual-matrix encapsula-tion,which is accomplished by in situ crystallization of CsPbBr_(3)@Cs_(4)PbBr_(6)nanocomposites in silica molecular sieve(MS)templates via advanced solid-state synthesis a using precisely controlled molar ratio of precursor components and cooling *** Cs_(4)PbBr_(6)matrix effectively passivates the surfaces of CsPbBr_(3)NCs,and the MS matrix insulates CsPbBr_(3)@Cs_(4)PbBr_(6)from the external *** resulting CsPbBr_(3)@Cs_(4)PbBr_(6)/MS composites exhibit the highest PLQY(>90%)among those of the solid-state perovskite NCs and significant stabilities against water,heat,and blue light irradiation,maintaining more than 80%of their initial PL intensities after being aged for 1000 h under synergistic high-humidity(85%),high-temperature(85C),and strong blue light irradiation(350 mW cm2)*** the best of our knowledge,these CsPbBr_(3)@Cs_(4)PbBr_(6)/MS composites represent the most stable perovskite emitters under synergistic humidity–heat–light aging *** liquid crystal display backlight module fabricated using these stable composites demonstrates a wide color gamut of 131%of the National Television Standards Committee *** speculate that this dual-matrix encapsulation can be used for industrial mass production.
