The healthcare sector is advancing in many aspects,including smart devices,surgical robots,AR/VR consultation,etc.Medical textiles are one such aspect where we have observed tremendous growth in innovation.Before the pandemic,the CAGR of patent filing in medical textiles was~12.5%.Postpandemic,it increased to 42.6%.From the patent publishing data,we saw that the US,Japan,India,and Germany are the top four countries in which innovations in medical textiles are on the rise.The extent of the growth is due to the constant improvements and innovations in both textile technology and medical materials.

Optimum care for patients with a terminal illness is dependent on understanding their values,beliefs,and preferences on end-of-life issues and providing service that meets their preferences.As the only way to explore patients’living wills,advance care planning(ACP)is an important means to honor patient autonomy and respect their human rights and dignity.ACP has been recognized as a key indicator for quality palliative care and endorsed into national health systems by many high-income countries;however,it is little known in China's Mainland.China is now facing a growing aging and terminally ill population with many unmet needs for end-of-life care;therefore,it is imperative to implement ACP in China.In this review,we clarify the relevant concept and suitable population for ACP,describe the current situation of implementation in high-income countries,and provide better suggestions for the future development of ACP in the mainland of China.

A new approach for prediction of face advance rete (FAR) prior to mining operation and determination of the operation efficiency after mining operation in retreat longwall mining panel is presented based upon the concepts of rock engineering system (RES). For this purpose, six longwall panels considered in Parvadeh-I coal mine. Seven major effective parameters on FAR was selected including coal mine roof rating, gas propagation, safety factor of longwall face, ratio of joint spacing to cutting depth at longwall face, longwall face inclination, panel width, floor rock mass rating. To performance evaluation of the presented model, the relationship between the average vulnerability indexes of advance operation with FAR was determined in considered panels with coefficient of determination (R2) equal to 0.884 that indicate relatively acceptable correlation and compatibility. Investigations of the research indicated that it is possible to determine the actual operation efficiency under fair conditions by a RES-based model. The inevitable reduction of FAR for each longwall panel was determined by presented model that the difference amount between the maximum possible practical face advance rate (FARmpp) and recorded actual face advance rate (FARa) indicate the operation efficiency. Applied approach in this paper can be used to prediction of FAR in retreat longwall mining panel for same conditions that can have many benefits, including better and more accurate planning for the sales market and mine operation. Also, presented method in this paper can be applied as a useful tool to determination of actual operation efficiency for other sections and extraction methods in coal mines.

This study aims to develop several optimization techniques for predicting advance rate of tunnel boring machine(TBM)in different weathered zones of granite.For this purpose,extensive field and laboratory studies have been conducted along the 12,649 m of the Pahang-Selangor raw water transfer tunnel in Malaysia.Rock properties consisting of uniaxial compressive strength(UCS),Brazilian tensile strength(BTS),rock mass rating(RMR),rock quality designation(RQD),quartz content(q)and weathered zone as well as machine specifications including thrust force and revolution per minute(RPM)were measured to establish comprehensive datasets for optimization.Accordingly,to estimate the advance rate of TBM,two new hybrid optimization techniques,i.***.an artificial neural network(ANN)combined with both imperialist competitive algorithm(ICA)and particle swarm optimization(PSO),were developed for mechanical tunneling in granitic rocks.Further,the new hybrid optimization techniques were compared and the best one was chosen among them to be used for practice.To evaluate the accuracy of the proposed models for both testing and training datasets,various statistical indices including coefficient of determination(R^2),root mean square error(RMSE)and variance account for(VAF)were utilized herein.The values of R^2,RMSE,and VAF ranged in 0.939-0.961,0.022-0.036,and 93.899-96.145,respectively,with the PSO-ANN hybrid technique demonstrating the best performance.It is concluded that both the optimization techniques,i.e.PSO-ANN and ICA-ANN,could be utilized for predicting the advance rate of TBMs;however,the PSO-ANN technique is superior.

Cargo ship sailing within the ice channel that an assisting icebreaker tracks in the compact ice cover is the usual navigation practice for difficult ice conditions in freezing seas and Arcticwater areas.When the icebreaker or an ahead vessel stops before the insuperable ice obstacle or because of engine trouble,the danger of an emergency appears,namely of collision with the icebreaker or the ahead ship,if the interval between them is not sufficient for effective braking and stopping.The paper presents the equation that describes the ship braking process within an ice channel and includes the thrust of the propeller that works under the reverse regime.The specific of this regime is the following:the ship continues the motion‘forwards’and the propeller rotates‘backwards’.An analytical method for description of the ship propeller work on the reverse regime is absent because of the detached flow on its blades.The paper describes the developed empirical method of this regime parameterization on the basis of serial models of propeller testing.The outcomes of this investigation are applied to a ship braking process simulation and the evaluation of the safe interval between the ship and the icebreaker.
