＜正＞How to effectively solve the damage suffered from abrasion and cavitation in hydropower outlet works has always been one of the key research programs concerned by engineers of hydropower structures and materials since many years. This paper mainly described the excellent properties of a newly developed abrasion resistant organic-polymer materials-Spraying Polyurea （SPUA） Elastomer materials applied in hydropower works and the superior functions of its application technology. Furthermore, the primer with excellent properties suitable SPUA for the moist concrete substrate was investigated and the abrasion resistant test by scouring at high speeding silt-laden flow in the lab was performed. In comparison with the high strength concrete, the scouring results indicated the higher abrasion resistant ability of SPUA materials. In additional, the first practical applications of SPUA in the hydropower works were briefly introduced.
