BACKGROUND Direct infiltration of the pancreas by acute myeloid leukemia(AML)with acute pancreatitis(AP)as an initial symptom is extremely *** once in the literature,the leukemia cells in AML have been implicated as the cause of *** caused by a rare predisposing factor is often misdiagnosed as idiopathic pancreatitis or pancreatitis of other common *** AP(SAP)progresses rapidly with a high fatality ***,it is important to identify the predisposing factors in the early stage of SAP,evaluate the condition,determine prognosis,formulate treatment plans,and prevent a ***,we describe a case of SAP due to *** SUMMARY A 61-year-old man presented to the hospital with fever and persistent abdominal *** analysis presented significantly elevated serum amylase and severe *** tomography examination of the abdomen revealed peripancreatic inflammatory *** patient had no common etiologies and risk factors for AP,but the concurrent severe thrombocytopenia could not be explained by ***,the bone marrow aspirate and biopsy inspection revealed the underlying reason for pancreatitis,AML(M2 type based on the French-American-British classifications system).CONCLUSION Direct infiltration of the pancrease by acute leukemia,particularly AML cells,is an infrequent cause of ***,although AP is a rare extramedullary infilt-ration characteristic for AML patients,it should be considered when determining the etiology of AP.

Clinical observation on 48 cases of stomach carcinoma pain indicated that acupuncture including filiform needle group and point-injection group had better therapeutic effects in treatment of stomach carcinoma pain when patient's mind was concentrated at the site of disease. After treatment for 2 months, the long-term effective rates of analgesia in both the filiform needle group and the point-injection group were similar to that in the western medicine group, all being about 81%. While the long-term markedly effective rates in the two groups were superior to that in the western medicine group. Life quality of the patients in all the groups were improved. The toxic action and side effects caused by chemotherapy were prevented, the high viscous state showed by indexes of blood rheology was improved, and the lowered Cu-Zu-SOD activity in erythrocytes in patients of stomach carcinoma was increased in the filiform needle group and the point-injection group. Based on the results of clinical study, we consider that acupuncture analgesic effect on stomach carcinoma is related to the increase of PLEK, improvement of cellular immune function and the elevation of life quality after acupuncture.

In this article,we report a case of spontaneous ruptured pyomyoma during pregnancy with successful delivery after myomectomy.A 35-year-old pregnant female(27 weeks of gestation)presented with lower abdominal *** patient had a history of uterine ***,computed tomography,and magnetic resonance imaging confirmed a spontaneous ruptured pyomyoma(maximum diameter:12.6 cm).Myomectomy was performed,and her abdominal distension and pain were significantly improved within 1 day;the condition of the fetus was *** month after surgery,severe tenderness was detected in the lower right side of the *** the higher risk of uterine rupture and associated complications,a cesarean section was *** mother and neonate were discharged 3 and 42 days after delivery,respectively,in good *** for spontaneous ruptured pyomyoma during pregnancy may be feasible and extend gestational age to improve outcomes for the mother and neonate.

Solid pseudopapillary tumor is a rare primary neoplasm of the pancreas that typically affects young *** is a relatively a benign tumor,with a favorable *** here report a 27-year-old woman with solid pseudopapillary neoplasm,who presented with mild jaundice,mildly elevated liver function tests and right upper quadrant *** was suggestive of hemorrhagic hepatic adenoma;however,on magnetic resonance imaging,a heterogenous mass was found in the head of *** ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration(FNA)revealed tumor cells with papillary architecture and immunohistochemical analysis showing cells positive for markers including beta-catenin,vimentin,alpha 1 antitrypsin *** findings were consistent with solid pseudopapillary *** patient underwent ***-surgical biopsy confirmed the FNA findings with tumor localized to the *** patient was not given any adjuvant *** remained asymptomatic and showed no signs of disease after four months *** is important to differentiate this tumor from other pancreatic neoplasms,because this type is amenable to cure after complete surgical resection,even in cases with capsular invasion,unlike malignant tumors of the pancreas.

Since 1994 we have treated 24 cases of primary hepatocarcinoma with a novel preparation Gan Fu Le (肝复乐). The effect was definite as reported in the following.Subjects and methodA total of 24 cases of primary hepatocarcinoma (21 males and 3 females) aged 42-73 (mean 57) years old were enrolled in the treatment group and treated only with Gan Fu Le, 10 tablets, t.i.d. for 2 months as one therapeutic course.
