Three-dimensional （3-D） surface anthropometry can provide much more useful information for many applications such as ergonomic product design than traditional individual body dimension measurements. However, the traditional definition of the percentile calculation is designed only for 1-D anthropometric data estimates. The same approach cannot be applied directly to 3-D anthropometric statistics otherwise it could lead to misinterpretations. In this paper, the influence of alignment references on 3-D anthropometric statistics is analyzed mathematically, which shows that different alignment reference points （for example, landmarks） for translation alignment could result in different object shapes if 3-D anthropometric data are processed for percentile values based on coordinates and that dimension percentile calculations based on coordinate statistics are incompatible with those traditionally based on individual dimensions.

In this paper,the degree of alignment of 2P_(3/2) vacancy state in Au induced by proton,lithium and boron ion impact was measured using a Si(Li)*** the projectile-energy dependence of the degree of alignment was investigated over the projectile energy range from 0.2 MeV/amu to 2.0MeV/*** de-alignment phenomenon was observed for small relative impact velocities.

The Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(HXMT) is an X-ray astronomical satellite in 1-250 keV,consisting of three collimated *** present the in-flight calibration approach of the collimator alignment and Point Spread Function(PSF) for HXMT,using both the direct fitting method and the imaging *** to observational simulations of the Crab Nebula,we find that these two methods produce almost the same calibration accuracy of the alignment,and with a one-day scanning observation,the alignment can be calibrated to better than 0.45' and 0.1' along the wide and narrow directions of the Field of View(FOV) for a detector module,which corresponds to a localization accuracy of better than 0.1' and meets the scientific requirement.

High-power fiber-to-fiber coupling is extensively used in fiber laser applications,and its performance is determined by coupling *** demonstrate a novel method for alignment and monitoring efficiency by detecting backscattering power at the fiber end *** relationship between alignment error and backscattering power is determined by simulations and *** this method,a state-of-the-art kW-level fiberto-fiber optic switch is developed(transmission efficiency>97%).It performs well for longer than 60 *** the best of our knowledge,it is the first time to establish the mathematical model based on this *** results can provide guidance in high-power fiber-to-fiber coupling.

Shaft alignment is an important technique during installation and maintenance of a rotating machine. A high-precision laser alignment system has been designed with dual PSDs (Position Sensing Detector) to change traditional manual way of shaft alignment and to make the measurement easier and more accurate. The system is comprised of two small measuring units (laser transmitter and detector) and a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) with the measurement software. The laser alignment system with dual PSDs was improved on a single PSD system,and it gets higher measurement accuracy than the previous design,and it has been succeeded in designing and implement for actual shaft alignment. In the system,the range of offset measurement is ±4 mm,and the resolution is 1.5 μm,and the accuracy is less than 2 μm.
