is a summary of the symposium held jointly by the china Association for the study ofEconomic restructuring and the china Association for the study of socialist *** was the first national symposium on the theoretical problems facingchina’s reform of its economic structure after the Third Plenum of the Twelfth Cen-tral Committee,CPC,in October *** participants discussed a series of prob-lems of interest,such as the theoretical basis for reform,a planned commodity econ-omy,the question of enterprise vitality,the separation of ownership from manage-ment,the new planning management system,price reform, distribution according towork and wage reform and the division of responsibility between government and enterprises.
