Nine coordination compounds have been synthesized from the self-assembly of the copper acetate,3,5-dimethylpyrazole,and carboxylate ligands at room *** compounds were structurally characterized by different techniques including elemental analysis,IR spectra,TG,and single crystal X-ray diffraction *** X-ray studies suggested that these complexes display mononuclear to trinuclear structures with tetrahedral（for compounds 1-8） or distorted square pyramidal（for compound 9） geometry around the copper *** the basis of X-ray crystallographic study the rich intra- and intermolecular noncovalent interactions such as classical hydrogen bonds,CH3-C,Cl···O,C-H···O,CH3···O,C-H···π,CH3-π,and π-π interactions are *** various nonbonding interactions in these compounds are responsible for different structures such as sheet,3D network,to 3D layer structure.

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of [Cu(acac)(Hdmpz)_3]***

The complex [Cu（C5H7O2）（C5H8N2）3]Br·C2H5OH was obtained from a reaction of CuBr, acac, and Hdmpz （Hdmpz=3, 5-dimethylpyrazole） in a mixed solution of ethanol, ether and water. The crystal belongs to monoclinic system, space group P21/n with a=8.101（5）, b=19.264 （10）, c=17.19（3）A°, β=95.54（2）°, V=2670（5） A°3, Z=4, Mr=577.03, Dc=1.435 g/cm^3, F（000）=1196,μ=2.348 mm^-1, R=0.0500 and wR=0.1188 for 5361 observed reflections （1〉2σ（I））. The Cu（Ⅱ） ion is coordinated by three Hdmpz and one acac to form a distorted square-pyramid. The complex contains an ethanol molecule and a bromide anion outside acting as the counter ion.
