Terahertz(THz)technology has attracted great attention in the past few decades for its unique applications in various fields,including spectroscopy,noninvasive detection,wireless communications,and *** parallel to this,the practical,fast,and broadband modulation of THz waves is becoming ***-dimensional(2d)materials exhibit unusual optical and electrical properties,which has prompted tremendous interest and significant advances in THz *** review provides the recent progress in 2d materials-based THz modulators,outlining the operating principles,including all-optical,electro-optic,magneto-optic,and other exotic *** focus on the recent advances in THz modulation by the designed photonic structures,such as heterostructure,metamaterial,capacitor,optical cavity,and waveguide ***,we discussed the challenges and opportunities for 2d materials-based THz modulators and presented our prospects for the future development.

Presented are the synthesis,characterizations,and reactive surface modification(RSM)of a novel nine atomic layered V4C3Tx *** the advantages of the multilayered V4C3Tx MXene that can simultaneously support the RSM reaction and keep the inner skeleton stable,a series of amorphous Ni/Fe/Vternary oxide hydroxides thin layer can be successfully modified on the surface of the V4C3Tx MXene(denoted as MOOH@V4C3Tx,M=Ni,Fe,and V)without disrupting its original *** to the in situ reconstruction of highly active oxide hydroxide layer,the nanohybrids exhibited an enhanced oxygen evolution reaction(OER)activity and excellent long-time stability over 70 *** particular,a current density of 10 mA cm−2 can be reached by the nanohybrid with the optimized Ni/Fe ratio at an overpotential(η)as low as 275.2 mV,which is comparable to most of the state-of-the-art OER catalysts and better than other MXene-based *** by the tunable physicochemical properties and excellent structural stability of these nanohybrids,we may envision the promising role of the M4X3-based MXenes as substrates for a wide range of energy conversion and storage materials.

Two-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenides(TMdCs)with intrinsically broken crystal inversion symmetry and large secondorder nonlinear responses have shown great promise for future nonlinear light ***,the sub-nanometer monolayer thickness of such materials limits the length of their nonlinear interaction with ***,we experimentally demonstrate the enhancement of the second-harmonic generation from monolayer MoSe_(2) by its integration onto a 220-nm-thick silicon *** on-chip integration allows for a marked increase in the interaction length between the MoSe_(2) and the waveguide mode,further enabling phase matching of the nonlinear *** demonstrated TMdC–silicon photonic hybrid integration opens the door to second-order nonlinear effects within the silicon photonic platform,including efficient frequency conversion,parametric amplification and the generation of entangled photon pairs.
