Continuous biodiesel production from a waste pig-roasting lard,methanol and KOH was carried out in a reciprocating plate reactor(RPR)using a factorial design containing three process factors,namely methanol/lard molar ratio,catalyst loading,and normalized height of the *** main goals were to optimize the influential process factors with respect to biodiesel purity using the response surface methodology and to model the kinetics of the transesterification reaction in order to describe the change of triacylglycerols(TAG)and fatty acid methyl esters(FAME)concentrations along the RPR *** first-order rate law was proved for both the reaction and the mass *** model of the changing reaction mechanism and mass transfer of TAG was also *** kinetic models agreed with the experimental concentrations of TAG and FAME determined along the RPR height.

To solve the problem of slow leaching speed of copper,surfactant was added into lixivium as leaching agent in the *** on physical chemistry and seepage flow mechanics,the leaching mechanics of surfactant was *** solution surface tension and surfactant adsorbing on the surface of ore have a significant impact on the surface wetting *** leaching rate for response,the study screened out three main factors by Plackett-Burman design method:the sulfuric acid concentration,surfactant concentration and *** these three factors,the surfactant concentration is the most important contributor to leaching *** obtaining the experiment center by the steepest ascent experiment,a continuous variable surface model was built by response surface *** solving quadratic polynomial equation,optimal conditions for leaching were finally obtained as follows:the sulfuric acid concentration was 60 g/L,the surfactant concentration was 0.00914 mol/L,and the temperature was 45 °*** leaching rate was 66.81% in the optimized leaching conditions,which was close to the predicted value,showing that regression result was good.

Flocculation time is conventionally believed to be proportional to the fiocculation effciency of a cylindrical fluidized bed flocculator. However, in a single-stage velocity gradient situation, the flocculation efficiency decreases when the optimal flocculation time is exceeded. A multi-stage velocity gradient was established in a cylindrical fluidized bed flocculator, based on the hydraulic classification theory. This multi-stage velocity gradient fluidized bed flocculator （MGF） created a more suitable environment for floc growth and protection, which was confirmed by the size distribution of flocs along the bed height. Correspondingly, the abatement efficiencies for Kaolin slurry and dyed wastewater treatment in the MGF were enhanced by 5-10%, and by 7-20%, respectively, compared with those in the single-stage velocity gradient fluidized bed flocculators （SGFs）. The initial bed height distribution ratio along the velocity gradients was an important factor for MGF optimization.

In order to increase the performance of horizontal tidal turbines, a multi-objective optimization model was proposed in this study. Firstly, the prediction model for horizontal tidal turbines was built, which coupled the blade element momentum (BEM) theory and the CFD calculation. Secondly, a multi-objective optimization method coupled the response surface method (RSM) with the multi-objective genetic algorithm NSGA-II was applied to obtain the optimal blade profiles. The pitch angle and the chord length distribution were chosen as the design variables, while the mean power coefficient and the variance of power coefficient were chosen as the objective functions. With the mean power coefficient improved by 4.1% and the variance of power coefficient decreased by 46.7%, results showed that both objective functions could be improved.

This paper presents a numerical investigation of the potential aerodynamic benefits of using endwall contouring in a fairly aggressive duct with six struts based on the platform for endwall design *** platform is constructed by integrating adaptive genetic algorithm（AGA）, design of experiments（DOE）, response surface methodology（RSM） based on the artificial neural network（ANN）, and a 3D Navier–Stokes *** visual analysis method based on DOE is used to define the design space and analyze the impact of the design parameters on the target function（response）.optimization of the axisymmetric and the non-axisymmetric endwall contouring in an S-shaped duct is performed and evaluated to minimize the total pressure *** optimal ducts are found to reduce the hub corner separation and suppress the migration of the low momentum *** non-axisymmetric endwall contouring is shown to remove the separation completely and reduce the net duct loss by 32.7%.

This work develops an equilibrium model for finding the optimal distribution strategy to maximize performance of key predistribution protocols in terms of cost, resilience, connectivity, and lifetime. As an essential attribute of wireless sensor networks, heterogeneity and its impacts on random key predistribution protocols are first discussed. Using supernetworks theory, the optimal node deployment model is proposed and illustrated. In order to find the equilibrium performance of our model, all optimal performance functions are changed into variational inequalities so that this optimization problem can be solved. A small-scale example is presented to illustrate the applicability of our model.

Twist morphing （TM） is a practical control technique in micro air vehicle （MAV） flight. However, TM wing has a lower aerodynamic efficiency （CL/CD） compared to membrane and rigid wing. This is due to massive drag penalty created on TM wing, which had overwhelmed the succes- sive increase in its lift generation. Therefore, further CL/CDmax optimization on TM wing is needed to obtain the optimal condition for the morphing wing configuration. In this paper, two-way fluid- structure interaction （FSI） simulation and wind tunnel testing method are used to solve and study the basic wing aerodynamic performance over （non-optimal） TM, membrane and rigid wings. Then, a multifidelity data metamodel based design optimization （MBDO） process is adopted based on the Ansys-DesignXplorer frameworks. In the adaptive MBDO process, Kriging metamodel is used to construct the final multifidelity CL/CD responses by utilizing 23 multi-fidelity sample points from the FSI simulation and experimental data. The optimization results show that the optimal TM wing configuration is able to produce better CL/CDmax magnitude by at least 2% than the non-optimal TM wings. The flow structure formation reveals that low TV strength on the optimal TM wing induces low CD generation which in turn improves its overall CL/CDmax performance.

Coal to ethylene glycol still lacks algorithm optimization achievements for distillation sequencing due to high-dimension and strong nonconvexity characteristics,although there are numerous reports on horizontal comparisons and process *** scenario triggers the navigation in this paper into the simultaneous optimization of parameters and heat integration of the coal to ethylene glycol distillation scheme and double-effect superstructure by the self-adapting dynamic differential evolution *** mitigate the influence of the strong nonconvexity,a redistribution strategy is adopted that forcibly expands the population search domain by exerting external influence and then shrinks it again to judge the global optimal *** two redistributive operations under the parallel framework,the total annual cost and CO_(2) emissions are 0.61%/1.85%better for the optimized process and 3.74%/14.84%better for the superstructure than the sequential ***,the thermodynamic efficiency of sequential optimization is 11.63%and 10.34%higher than that of simultaneous *** study discloses the unexpected great energy-saving potential for the coal to ethylene glycol process that has long been unknown,as well as the strong ability of the self-adapting dynamic differential evolution algorithm to optimize processes described by the high-dimensional mathematical model.
