Correlation of gut microorganisms and non-volatile flavor substances provides new insights for breeding Scylla paramamosain

The farming of Scylla paramamosain with specific flavors has a higher commercial value,and the flavors are related to the integrated farming environment and non-volatile flavor substances,while the survival environment is one of the important ways to source gut microorganisms in the *** this study,the levels of dominant taxa in the gut flora of *** from Mong Cai,Vietnam(VN),Taishan City,Guangdong Province(TS)of China,and Ninghai County,Ningbo City(NB)zhejiang Province of China converged with those of *** from Sanmen County,Ningbo City(CK 1,CK 2,and CK 3)at 28 d of *** top 15 genera with the highest abundance of VN,TS,and NB gut flora were the same as CK 1,CK 2,and CK 3,but with different percentages,and gradually converged to CK 1,CK 2,and CK 3,respectively,at 28 d of *** between intestinal flora and non-volatile flavor substances in the hepatopancreas at the percentage level of relative abundance of bacterial genera found that above 28 d of domestication,Muribaculaceae,Psychrilyobacter,Clostridia_vadinBB 60_group,Halarcobacter Carboxylicivirga,Sediminispirochaeta may be the most important genera affecting flavor amino acids of ***,Carboxylicivirga,Halarcobacter,Photobacterium,ZOR 0006,Psychrilyobacter,and Pseudomonas may be the most important genera affecting flavor amino acids of ***,Carboxylicivirga,Halarcobacter,Photobacterium,ZOR 0006,Vibrio,and Sphingomonas may be the most important genera affecting flavor amino acids of *** results show that the intestinal flora structure of crabs from different areas were domesticated in the same area for at least 28 d before they converged to that of the domesticated crab,and the most important genera affecting the flavor amino acids of TS,VN,and NB were also *** results of this study provide a reference and basis for the technique of directional cultivation of the flavor quality of the crab.

Effects of fruit bagging on the physiochemical changes of grapefruit(Citrus paradisi)

Fruit bagging is a commonly used cultivation measure to protect citrus fruit from insects and adverse *** present study aimed to comprehensively investigate the effects of bagging on the physiochemical characteristics of *** grapefruit were bagged at approximately 110–120 d after anthesis with a one-layer kraft paper bag with black coating inside(SL),a double-layer kraft paper bag with one black paper as the inner layer(DL),and a three-layer kraft paper bag with two black papers as inner layers(TL),*** performance liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry(UPLC-HRMS)technique was used to identify a total of 19 flavonoids,2 phenylpropanoids,9 coumarins,and 5 *** using UPLC,50 carotenoids were *** chromatography–mass spectrometry was used to identify 3 soluble sugars,3 organic acids,and 11 amino *** the quantitated components in the peel(albedo and flavedo),the chlorophylls and the carotenoids components(such as luteoxanthin,violaxanthin,9-cis-violaxanthin,xanthophyll,zeaxanthin andβ-carotene)were significantly downregulated by bagging,causing the surface color of bagged fruit to turn yellow earlier but paler than that of the unbagged control,particularly in the three-layer kraft bag *** the peel,the color and the carotenoid content of the juice sacs were less *** physiochem-ical compounds other than pigments,including soluble sugars,organic acids,amino acids,flavonoids,coumarins and limonoids,were minimally affected by bagging *** results indicated that bagging at approximately 110–120 d after anthesis exerted influence mainly on peel color,but less on sugars,acids,amino acids,flavonoids,limonoids and coumarins of grapefruit.

In situ studies on ceria promoted cobalt oxide for CO oxidation

In situ studies of catalysts play valuable roles in observing phase transformation, understanding the corresponding surface chemistry and the mechanism of the reaction. In this paper, ceria promoted cobalt oxide was prepared by the calcination method and investigated for the CO oxidation. The microstructure and morphology of CeO2-Co3O4 were investigated by the Scanning Electron Microscope, High-resolution transmission electron microscopy, Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy characterization. The effect of CeO2 doping on Co3O4 for CO oxidation was characterized by in situ X-ray Diffraction (in situ XRD) and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (in situ DRIFTS). In situ XRD was carried out under H2 atmosphere to evaluate the redox property of catalysts. The results indicated that the ceria doping can enhance the reducibility of Co2+ and promote the Co3+-Co2+-Co3+ cycle, owing to the oxygen replenish property of CeO2. Furthermore, adsorbed carbonate species on the surface of CeO2-Co3O4 were investigated by in situ-DRIFTS experiment. It was turned out that carbonate species on ceria promoted cobalt oxide catalysts showed different IR peaks compared with pure cobalt oxide. The carbonate species on ceria promoted catalyst are more active, and similar to free state carbonate species with weak bonding to catalyst surface, which can effectively inhibit catalyst inactivation. This study revealed the mechanism of ceria promoting CO oxidation over cobalt oxide, which will provide theoretical support for the design of efficient CO oxidation catalysts.

Analysis of Steady-state Characters of Aquatic Environment and Dynamic Changes in the Biomass of Submerged plants in Dongqian Lake

To study the eutrophic status of Dongqian Lake,the contents of total nitrogen（ TN）,total phosphorus（ TP） and chlorophyll（ Chla） and the biomass of submerged plants in Dongqian Lake were monitored from April to September 2014,and their correlations were discussed. The results showed that there were regular changes in the TN,TP,and Chla content,and the biomass of submerged plants in Dongqian Lake,that is,the water quality of the lake was inferior in the early growth period of submerged plants and phytoplankton. The correlation analysis showed that the biomass of submerged plants correlated with TP and TN content negatively. In a word,the increase in the biomass of submerged plants was a key factor leading to the shift of water quality in Dongqian Lake in the later period,indicating that submerged plants played an important role in the steady-state shift of aquatic environment in Dongqian Lake.
