Resistance to salt stresses by aerobic granular sludge:sludge property and microbial community

Saline wastewater is regarded as a challenge for wastewater treatment plants because high-salinity conditions negatively affect on traditional biological *** granular sludge(AGS)has gained attention as a promising technology for saline wastewater treatment because of its compact structure and the ability to withstand toxic ***,this study investigated the saltresistance performance,sludge properties and microbial community of AGS under low-salinity and high-salinity conditions,with the saline concentrations ranging from 0 to 50 g/*** results showed that AGS could withstand long-term saline stresses,and the maximum salinity reached 50 g/L within 113 *** salinities of 10,30,and 50 g/L,the chemical oxygen demand(COD)removal efficiencies were 90.3%,88.0%and 78.0%,*** also its maintained strength and aggregation at salinities of 10 and 30 g/*** of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)by non-halophilic bacteria that enhanced sludge *** compact structure that ensured the microorganisms bioactivity helped to remove organic matters under salinities of 10 and 30 g/*** a salinity of 50 g/L,moderately halophilic bacteria,including Salinicola,Thioclava,Idiomarina and Albirhodobacter,prevailed in the *** dominant microbial communities shifted to moderately halophilic bacteria,which could maintain aerobic granular stabilization and remove organic matters under 50 g/L *** results in this study provide a further explanation for the long-term operation of AGS for treating saline wastewater at different *** is hoped that this work could bring some clues for the mystery of salt-resistance mechanisms.

The behavior of multiple modes before and during minor disruption with the external resonant magnetic perturbations(RMPs)has been studied on a J-TEXT *** main component of RMPs is m/n=2/1,where m and n are the numbers of the poloidal and toroidal modes,*** the mode-locking caused by RMPs,it is found that before a minor or a major disruption(if there is no minor disruption),strong oscillations in both electron temperature and density occur if the edge safety factor q_(a)>*** analysis shows that the oscillations are caused by the m/n=3/1 *** addition,using the ECE,Mirnov coils and 2D electron cyclotron emission imaging diagnostic systems,it is found that a thermal collapse occurs on the inner side of the 2/1magnetic island during the minor disruption,and before the collapse,a 3/2 island increases,after the collapse,the 3/2 island may ***,the study also shows that these 3/1,2/1 and 3/2modes play roles in the thermal collapse of disruptions.

The antifungal properties of terpenoids from the endophytic fungus Bipolaris eleusines

A series of terpenoids(1-17),comprising six new compounds designated bipolariterpenes A-F(1-6)and eleven rec-ognized compounds(7-17),were isolated from the wheat culture of the potato endophytic fungus Bipolaris *** structures and stereochemistry were clarified by HRESIMS,NMR,DP4+probability analyses,and computations for electronic circular dichroism(ECD).All compounds are made up of six meroterpenoids,four sesterterpenes and seven *** them,four sesterterpenes(4,5,10,11)were investigated for their antifungal,antibacterial and cytotoxic properties,and six meroterpenoids(1-3,7-9)were evaluated for their antifungal *** compounds 7,9,and 10 had substantial antifungal activity against Epidermophyton floccosum at a concentration of 100μ*** antibacterial and cytotoxic activities were observed.
