Mechanistic insight into the synergy between nickel single atoms and nanoparticles on N-doped carbon for electroreduction of CO_(2)

The synergy of single atoms(SAs)and nanoparticles(NPs)has demonstrated great potential in promoting the electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR);however,the rationalization of the SAs/NPs proportion remains one challenge for the catalyst ***,a Ni2+-loaded porous poly(ionic liquids)(PIL)precursor synthesized through the free radical self-polymerization of the ionic liquid monomer,1-allyl-3-vinylimidazolium chloride,was pyrolyzed to prepare the Ni,N co-doped carbon materials,in which the proportion of Ni SAs and NPs could be facilely modulated by controlling the annealing *** catalyst Ni-NC-1000 with a moderate proportion of Ni SAs and NPs exhibited high efficiency in the electrocatalytic conversion of CO_(2)into *** Ni K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES)spectra and theoretical calculations were conducted to gain insight into the synergy of Ni SAs and *** charge transfer from Ni NPs to the surrounding carbon layer and then to the Ni SAs resulted in the electron-enriched Ni SAs active *** the electroreduction of CO_(2),the coexistence of Ni SAs and NPs strengthened the CO_(2)activation and the affinity towards the key intermediate of*COOH,lowering the free energy for the potential-determining*CO_(2)→*COOH step,and therefore promoted the catalysis efficiency.

Riemann-Hilbert Problem and Multiple High-order Poles Solutions of the Focusing mKdV Equation with Nonzero Boundary Conditions

The focusing modified Korteweg-de Vries(mKdV)equation with multiple high-order poles under the nonzero boundary conditions is first investigated via developing a Riemann-Hilbert(RH)*** begin with the asymptotic property,symmetry and analyticity of the Jost solutions,and successfully construct the RH problem of the focusing mKdV *** solve the RH problem when 1/S_(11)(k)has a single highorder pole and multiple high-order ***,we derive the soliton solutions of the focusing mKdV equation which corresponding with a single high-order pole and multiple high-order poles,***,the dynamics of one-and two-soliton solutions are graphically discussed.

Novel mesoporous CeVWOx/TiO2 nanosheets for selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3

Herein,we report the self-sacrificial template strategy to design mesoporous layered CeVWOx/TiO2catalysts for the selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3（NH3-SCR）.As-fabricated CeVWOx/TiO2catalysts with unique mesoporous and layered structure were successfully prepared through the synthesis of Ce,Ti-MOFs by solvothermal method,the impregnation of vanadium and tungsten in Ce,Ti-MOFs and high temperature calcination *** NH3-SCR catalysts,well-designed CeVWOx/TiO2catalysts exhibit excellent SCR activity with the NOxconversion of over 90% between 210 and 470℃.Meanwhile,CeVWOx/TiO2shows superior tolerance to water vapor and *** features of unique mesoporous layered nanostructure,surface acidity,tunable reducibility,active and the strong interaction of active metal oxide and support in CeVWOx/TiO2nanosheets should contribute to the improved SCR *** situ diffuse reflection infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy（DRIFTS） analysis indicates that both Langmuir-Hinshelwood（L-H） and Eley-Rideal（E-R） mechanisms are present on the surface of CeVWOx/TiO2at low *** work offers a facile strategy to design and fabricate efficient 2D deNOxcatalyst.

Data-driven modeling of a four-dimensional stochastic projectile system

The dynamical modeling of projectile systems with sufficient accuracy is of great difficulty due to high-dimensional space and various *** the rapid development of data science and scientific tools of measurement recently,there are numerous data-driven methods devoted to discovering governing laws from *** this work,a data-driven method is employed to perform the modeling of the projectile based on the Kramers–Moyal *** specifically,the four-dimensional projectile system is assumed as an It?stochastic differential *** the least square method and sparse learning are applied to identify the drift coefficient and diffusion matrix from sample path data,which agree well with the real *** effectiveness of the data-driven method demonstrates that it will become a powerful tool in extracting governing equations and predicting complex dynamical behaviors of the projectile.

Heavy metal removal from aqueous solutions by chitosan-based magnetic composite flocculants

In this study,three magnetic flocculants with different chelating groups,namely,carboxymethyl chitosan-modified Fe_(3)O_(4)flocculant(MC),acrylamide-grafted magnetic carboxymethyl chitosan flocculant(MCM),and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid copolyacrylamide-grafted magnetic carboxymethyl chitosan flocculant(MCAA)were prepared,synthesized,and characterized by photopolymerization *** were applied to the flocculation removal of Cr(Ⅲ),Co(Ⅱ),and Pb(Ⅱ).The effect of flocculation condition on the removal performance of Cr(Ⅲ),Co(Ⅱ),and Pb(Ⅱ)was *** results show that the three magnetic carboxymethyl chitosan-based flocculants have been successfully prepared with good magnetic induction *** results show that the removal rates of MC,MCM,and MCAA on Cr(Ⅲ)are 51.79%,82.33%,and 91.42%,respectively,under the conditions of 80 mg/L flocculant,pH value of 6,reaction time of 1.5 hr,G value of 200 s^(-1),and precipitation magnetic field strength of 120 *** removal rates of Co(Ⅱ)by MC,MCM,and MCAA are 54.33%,84.99%,and 90.49%,*** removal rates of Pb(Ⅱ)by MC,MCM,and MCAA are 61.54%,91.32%,and 95.74%,*** shows good flocculation performance in composite heavy metal-simulated *** magnetic carboxymethyl chitosan-based flocculant shows excellent flocculation performance in removing soluble heavy *** research provides guidance and ideas for the development of efficient and low-cost flocculation technology to remove heavy metals in wastewater.

The role of CALYPSO in the discovery of high-T_c hydrogen-rich superconductors

Hydrogen-rich compounds are promising candidates for high-Tc or even room-temperature superconductors. The search for high-Tc hydrides poses a major experimental challenge because there are many known hydrides and even more unknown hydrides with unusual stoichiometries under high pressure. The combination of crystal structure prediction and first-principles calculations has played an important role in the search for high-Tc hydrides, especially in guiding experimental synthesis. Crystal structure AnaLYsis by Particle Swarm Optimization(CALYPSO) is one of the most efficient methods for predicting stable or metastable structures from the chemical composition alone. This review summarizes the superconducting hydrides predicted using CALYPSO. We focus on two breakthroughs toward room-temperature superconductors initiated by CALYPSO: the prediction of high-Tc superconductivity in compressed hydrogen sulfide and lanthanum hydrides, both of which have been confirmed experimentally and have set new record Tc values. We also address the challenges and outlook in this field.

Micro-crack detection of nonlinear Lamb wave propagation in three-dimensional plates with mixed-frequency excitation

We propose a nonlinear ultrasonic technique by using the mixed-frequency signals excited Lamb waves to conduct micro-crack detection in thin plate *** models of three-dimensional(3D)aluminum plates and composite laminates are established by ABAQUS software,where the aluminum plate contains buried crack and composite laminates comprises cohesive element whose thickness is zero to simulate delamination *** interactions between the S0 mode Lamb wave and the buried micro-cracks of various dimensions are simulated by using the finite element *** frequency spectrum analysis is applied to the received time domain signal and fundamental frequency amplitudes,and sum and difference frequencies are extracted and *** results indicate that nonlinear Lamb waves have different sensitivities to various crack *** is a positive correlation among crack length,height,and sum and difference frequency amplitudes for an aluminum plate,with both amplitudes decreasing as crack thickness increased,i.e.,nonlinear effect weakens as the micro-crack becomes *** amplitudes of sum and difference frequency are positively correlated with the length and width of the zero-thickness cohesive element in the composite ***,amplitude ratio change is investigated and it can be used as an effective tool to detect inner defects in thin 3D plates.

Nonlinear stochastic dynamics research on a Lorenz system with white Gaussian noise based on a quasi‐potential approach

Environmental noise can lead to complex stochastic dynamical behaviors in nonlinear *** this paper,a Lorenz system with the parameter region with two stable fixed points and a chaotic saddle subject to white Gaussian noise is investigated as an ***‐induced phenomena,such as noise‐induced quasi‐cycle,three‐state intermittency,and chaos,are *** the intermittency process,the optimal path used to describe the transition mechanism is calculated and confirmed to pass through an unstable periodic orbit,a chaotic saddle,a saddle point,and a heteroclinic trajectory in an orderly sequence using generalized cell mapping with a digraph method *** corresponding optimal fluctuation forces are delineated to uncover the effects of noise during the transition *** the process will switch frequently between the attractors and the chaotic saddle as noise intensity increased further,that is,noise induced chaos emerging.A threshold noise intensity is defined by stochastic sensitivity analysis when a confidence ellipsoid is tangent to the stable manifold of the periodic orbit,which agrees with the simulation *** is finally reported that these results and methods can be generalized to analyze the stochastic dynamics of other nonlinear mechanical systems with similar structures.

Effects of(Ti, W)C Addition on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ultrafine WC–Co Tool Materials Prepared by Spark Plasma Sintering

In this study, powder mixtures containing(Ti, W)C additions(10, 20, 30 and 40 wt%) were prepared and then consolidated at 1200, 1250, 1300 and 1350 °C by spark plasma sintering. The effect of(Ti, W)C additions on the microstructure and mechanical properties of ultrafine WC–Co materials was investigated. The results demonstrate that the(Ti, W)C not only retards the sintering densification but also increases the porosity of sintered samples. The increasing sintering temperature is beneficial to the densification but results in the grain coarsening and the dissolution of W in(Ti, W)C. Moreover, there are no(Ti, W)C grains with obvious core/rim structure in the microstructure. With the(Ti, W)C increasing from 10 to 20 wt%, the hardness increases and fracture toughness changes hardly. However, the hardness and fracture toughness decrease slightly as the(Ti, W)C further increases. The transgranular fracture of(Ti, W)C phases is responsible for the slight reduction in fracture toughness. The sample with 20 wt%(Ti, W)C has high hardness and fracture toughness( HV : 21.3 GPa, KIC: 9.8 MPa m1/2).
