Boosting photocatalytic water vapor splitting by the integration of porous g-C_(3)N_(4)and carbonized melamine foam

We report a photothermally-induced liquid-solid/gas-solid-decoupling photocatalytic water-splitting system,where a carbonized melamine foam(CMF)and a porous g-C_(3)N_(4)(PCN)serve as the photothermal substrate and model photocatalyst,***,liquid water is transformed into the gaseous phase over the CMF due to the photothermal effect,and the generated vapor can be split into hydrogen by PCN via the *** unique biphasic photocatalytic system exhibits a high hydrogen production rate of 368.1µmol h^(-1),which is 2.4 and 25.6 times larger than those of the traditional triphasic PCN system(151.7µmol h^(-1))and g-C_(3)N_(4)(CN)system(14.4µmol h^(-1)),*** improved photocatalytic performance is mainly attributed to the optimized energy and mass transfer at the gas-liquid-solid reaction interface,where gas products are rapidly desorbed in the photocatalytic *** work provides a novel strategy to enhance the photocatalytic performance from the perspectives of energy and mass flow.

Objective To evaluate the correlation between the β-fibrinogen gene-455G/A polymorphism and cerebral infarction in Chinese population by means of meta-analysis. Methods Genetic association studies on evaluating the β-fibrinogen gene -455G/A polymorphism and cerebral infarction involving Chinese population published before December 2005 were collected from database of PubMed, EMBASE, and CNKI. All the data in literature were abstracted based on the defined selection criteria by two independent investigators. Publication bias was tested by funnel plot and the odd ratios of all studies were combined dependent on the result of heterogeneity test among the individual studies. The software Review Manager （Version 4.2） was used for meta-analysis. Results Eleven studies including 1405 patients and 1600 controls met the selection criteria. There was no publication bias in 11 reviewed studies. Heterogeneity test of reviewed studies showed statistically significant differences （χ^2=24.58, P=0.006） among the ORs of individual studies. The combined OR of 11 studies of susceptibility to cerebral infarction in –455A allele carriers compared with the -455G/G wild homozygotes was 1.33 （95%CI 1.04-1.71, P=0.02）. In the patients with cerebral infarction in 6 studies, the summarized average plasma fibrinogen level of allele A carrier was 0.29 g/L （95%CI 0.14-0.44, P=0.0002） higher than that of -455G/G homozygous ones. Conclusions β-fibrinogen gene -455G/A polymorphism might contribute to susceptibility of cerebral infarction in Chinese population; allele A increases the individual susceptibility to the disease.

Few-shot video object segmentation(FSVOS) aims to segment a specific object throughout a video sequence when only the first-frame annotation is given. In this study, we develop a fast target-aware learning approach for FSVOS, where the proposed approach adapts to new video sequences from its firstframe annotation through a lightweight procedure. The proposed network comprises two models. First, the meta knowledge model learns the general semantic features for the input video image and up-samples the coarse predicted mask to the original image size. Second, the target model adapts quickly from the limited support set. Concretely, during the online inference for testing the video, we first employ fast optimization techniques to train a powerful target model by minimizing the segmentation error in the first frame and then use it to predict the subsequent frames. During the offline training, we use a bilevel-optimization strategy to mimic the full testing procedure to train the meta knowledge model across multiple video *** proposed method is trained only on an individual public video object segmentation(VOS) benchmark without additional training sets and compared favorably with state-of-the-art methods on DAVIS-2017, with a J &F overall score of 71.6%, and on YouT ubeVOS-2018, with a J &F overall score of 75.4%. Meanwhile,a high inference speed of approximately 0.13 s per frame is maintained.

Aiming to improve the thermal characteristics of modern electronics, we experimentally study the performance of a stainless steel/water loop heat pipe(LHP) under natural cooling condition. The LHP heat transfer performance, including start-up performance, temperature oscillation and total thermal resistance at different heat loads and with different incline angles have been investigated systematically. Experimental results show that at an optimal heat load(i.e. 60 W) and with the LHP being inclined 60 to the horizontal plane, the total thermal resistance is lowered to be ~0.24 K/W, and the temperature of evaporator could be controlled steadily at around 90 C.

China is vigorously promoting the “whole county promotion” of distributed photovoltaics (DPVs). However, the high penetration rate of DPVs has brought problems such as voltage violation and power quality degradation to the distribution network, seriously affecting the safety and reliability of the power system. The traditional centralized control method of the distribution network has the problem of low efficiency, which is not practical enough in engineering practice. To address the problems, this paper proposes a cluster voltage control method for distributed photovoltaic grid-connected distribution network. First, it partitions the distribution network into clusters, and different clusters exchange terminal voltage information through a “virtual slack bus.” Then, in each cluster, based on the control strategy of “reactive power compensation first, active power curtailment later,” it employs an improved differential evolution (IDE) algorithm based on Cauchy disturbance to control the voltage. Simulation results in two different distribution systems show that the proposed method not only greatly improves the operational efficiency of the algorithm but also effectively controls the voltage of the distribution network, and maximizes the consumption capacity of DPVs based on qualified voltage.

Association of β-fibrinogen gene-148C/T and-455G/A polymorphisms and coronary artery disease in Chinese population:A Meta analysis

The purpose of our study was to evaluate the correlation between the β-fibrinogen gene –148C/T and –455G/A polymorphisms and susceptibility to coronary artery disease in the Chinese population using a meta–analytic approach. Eligible studies about this correlation were identified by searching the PubMed, EMBASE, and CNKI databases. Of the 13 identified, 7 (with 1488 cases and 1234 controls) involved the –148C/T polymorphism and 9 (with 1023 cases and 1081 controls) involved the –455G/A polymorphism. No publication bias was detectable and heterogeneity testing found significant differ-ences between the ORs for both groups of studies. The combined OR for the 7 studies on susceptibility to coronary artery disease in –148T allele carriers compared to the –148C/C wild-type homozygotes was 1.31 (95%CI: 0.94-1.84, P=0.11). The combined OR for the 9 studies on susceptibility to coronary artery disease in –455A allele carriers compared to the –455G/G wild-type homozygotes was 1.75 (95%CI: 1.24-2.46, P=0.001). Our results suggest the absence of an association between the β-fibrinogen gene –148C/T polymorphism and susceptibility to coronary artery disease and the possibility that –455G/A polymorphism (in particular, allele A) increases susceptibility to this disease in the Chinese population.
