Multiblock poly(ether-b-amide)copolymers comprised of PA1212 and PPO-PEO-PPO with specific moisture-responsive and antistatic properties

Functional multiblock poly(ether-b-amide)(PEBA)copolymers,comprised of PA1212(polyamide 1212)as hard segments and Jeffamine ED-2003 as soft segments,were successfully prepared via two-step melt polycondensation without any amidation ***,using diamino-terminated poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)(PPO-PEO-PPO),Jeffamine ED-2003,enhances the compatibility between polyamide oligomer and polyether,which is better than the traditional route using hydroxyl-terminated *** chemical structure of multiblock PEBAs,as well as the microphase separated structure with crystalline phase of polyamide and polyether,were confirmed by heteronuclear multiple-bond correlation spectrum,heteronuclear multiple quantum correlation spectrum,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic mechanical *** hydrophilic PEBA copolymers showed water adsorption ranging from 87.3%to 17.1%depending on the polyether content,and specially showed moisture responsive behavior within seconds when exposed to *** corresponding mechanism was studied using time-resolved attenuated total reflectance FT-IR spectroscopy in the molecular level and the water diffusion coefficient was estimated to be 1.07×10^(–8)cm^(2)∙s^(-1).Two-dimensional correlation FT-IR spectra analysis was performed to confirm that the interaction between water and polyether phase was in preference to that between water and polyamide matrix,and water molecule only forms hydrogen bond with the polyether *** to the incorporation of PEO segments,the PEBAs have the surface resistivity varying from 5.6×10^(9)to 6.5×10^(10)Ω,which makes PEBA potential candidate as permanent antistatic agent.

A high-speed 2D optoelectronic in-memory computing device with 6-bit storage and pattern recognition capabilities

The explosively developed era of big-data compels the increasing demand of nonvolatile memory with high efficiency and excellent storage ***,we fabricated a high-speed photoelectric multilevel memory device for neuromorphic *** novel two-dimensional(2D)MoSSe with a unique Janus structure was employed as the channel,and the stack of Al_(2)O_(3)/black phosphorus quantum dots(BPQDs)/Al_(2)O_(3)was adopted as the *** storage performance of the resulting memory could be verified by the endurance and retention tests,in which the device could remain stable states of programming and erasing even after 1,000 cycles and 1,000 *** multibit storage could be realized through both different voltage amplitudes and pulse numbers,which could achieve 6 bits(64 distinguishable levels)under pulse width of 50 ***,our memory device also could realize the simulations of synapses in human brain with optical and electric modulations synergistically,such as excitatory post-synaptic current(EPSC),long-term potentiation/depression(LTP/LTD),and spike-timing-dependent plasticity(STDP).Neuromorphic computing was successfully achieved through a high recognition of handwritten digits up to 92.5%after 103 *** research is a promising avenue for the future development of efficient memory and artificial neural network systems.

Antibiotic Resistance of Probiotic Strains of Lactic Acid Bacteria Isolated from Marketed Foods and Drugs

Objective To identify the antimicrobial resistance of commercial lactic acid bacteria present in microbial foods and drug additives by analyzing their isolated strains used for fermentation and probiotics. Methods Antimicrobial susceptibility of 41 screened isolates was tested with disc diffusion and E-test methods after species-level identification. Resistant strains were selected and examined for the presence of resistance genes by PCR. Results Distribution of resistance was found in different species. All isolates were susceptible to chloramphenicol, tetracycline, ampicillin, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, cephalothin, and imipenem. In addition, isolates resistant to vancomycin, rifampicin, streptomycin, bacitracin, and erythromycin were detected, although the incidence of resistance to these antibiotics was relatively low. In contrast, most strains were resistant to ciprofloxacin, amikacin, trimethoprim/sulphamethoxazole, and gentamycin. The genes msrC, vanX, and dfrA were detected in strains of Enterococcus faecium, Lactobacillus plantarum, Streptococcus thermophilus, and Lactococcus lactis. Conclusion Antibiotic resistance is present in different species of probiotic strains, which poses a threat to food safety. Evaluation of the safety of lactic acid bacteria for human consumption should be guided by established criteria, guidelines and regulations.

Research of artificial synapses is increasing in popularity with the development of bioelectronics and the appearance of wearable *** the high-temperature treatment process of inorganic materials is not compatible with flexible substrates,organic ferroelectric materials that are easier to process have emerged as *** organic synaptic device based on P(VDF-TrFE)was prepared in this *** device showed reliable P/E endurance over 104 cycles and a data storage retention capability at 80℃ over 104 ***,it possessed excellent synaptic functions,including short-term/long-term synaptic plasticity and spike-timing-dependent *** addition,the ferroelectric performance of the device remained stable even under bending(7 mm bending radius)or after 500 bending *** work shows that low-temperature processed organic ferroelectric materials can provide new ideas for the future development of wearable electronics and flexible artificial synapses.

Research on three-step accelerated gradient algorithm in deep learning

Gradient descent(GD)algorithm is the widely used optimisation method in training machine learning and deep learning *** this paper,based on GD,Polyak’s momentum(PM),and Nesterov accelerated gradient(NAG),we give the convergence of the algorithms from an ini-tial value to the optimal value of an objective function in simple quadratic *** on the convergence property of the quadratic function,two sister sequences of NAG’s iteration and par-allel tangent methods in neural networks,the three-step accelerated gradient(TAG)algorithm is proposed,which has three sequences other than two sister *** illustrate the perfor-mance of this algorithm,we compare the proposed algorithm with the three other algorithms in quadratic function,high-dimensional quadratic functions,and nonquadratic *** we consider to combine the TAG algorithm to the backpropagation algorithm and the stochastic gradient descent algorithm in deep *** conveniently facilitate the proposed algorithms,we rewite the R package‘neuralnet’and extend it to‘supneuralnet’.All kinds of deep learning algorithms in this paper are included in‘supneuralnet’***,we show our algorithms are superior to other algorithms in four case studies.

Efficacy and safety of drug-eluting stent implantation for the treatment of in-stent restenosis occurring within bare-metal stent and drug-eluting stent

Objective:Although drug-eluting stent(DES) implantation is the primary treatment modality for bare-metal stent(BMS) in-stent restenosis(ISR),little is known about the efficacy and safety profile of DES in the treatment of *** goal of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes following DES treatment for BMS-ISR and ***:Rates of major adverse cardiac events(MACE) were compared in 97 consecutive patients who underwent DES implantation for the treatment of ISR(56 BMS-ISR and 41 DES-ISR) from January 2004 to December ***:Baseline clinical and procedural characteristics were comparable,except that the DES used in the BMS-ISR group was longer and had a larger *** length of follow-up was(28.60±1.96) and(20.34±1.54) months for the BMS-ISR and DES-ISR groups,*** patient(1.8%) experienced non-cardiac mortality and one(1.8%) had target-vessel revascularization(TVR) in the BMS-ISR *** the DES-ISR group,three patients(7.3%) died of sudden death with a documented acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction,and three suffered TVR(7.3%).Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated that cumulative survival probability and MACE-free probability were both significantly lower for the DES-ISR group(log rank test P=0.047 and P=0.005,respectively).In Cox regression analysis,DES-ISR remained an independent predictor for future MACE occurrence after adjustment for other factors(compared with BMS-ISR,risk ratio(RR)=8.743,95% confidence interval(CI) 1.54-49.54,P=0.014).Switching to a different type of DES to treat DES-ISR did not improve the ***:DES-ISR patients had a poorer prognosis than BMS-ISR patients after DES therapy.

Endogenous tissue factor pathway inhibitor in vascular smooth muscle cells inhibits arterial thrombosis

Tissue factor pathway inhibitor （TFPI） is the main inhibitor of tissue factor-mediated coagulation. TFPI is expressed by endothelial and smooth muscle cells in the vasculature. Endothefium-derived TFPI has been reported to play a regulatory role in arterial thrombosis. However, the role of endogenous TFPI in vascular smooth muscle cells （VSMCs） in thrombosis and vascular disease development has yet to be elucidated. In this TFPI^Flox mice crossbred with Sma-Cre mice were utilized to establish TFPI conditional knockout mice and to examine the effects of VSMC-directed TFPI deletion on development, hemostasis, and thrombosis. The mice with deleted TFPI in VSMCs （TFP^Sma） reproduced viable offspring. Plasma TFPI concentration was reduced 7.2% in the TFPIsma mice compared with TFPI^Flox littermate controls. Plasma TFPI concentration was also detected in the TFPI^Tle2 （mice deleted TFPI in endothefial ceils and cells of hematopoietic origin） mice. Plasma TFPI concentration of the TFPI^Tle2 mice was 80.4% lower （P 〈 0.001） than that of the TFPI^Flox mice. No difference in hemostatic measures （PT, APTT, and tail bleeding） was observed between TFPIsma and TFPI^Flox mice. However, TFP^Sma mice had increased ferric chloride-indueed arterial thrombosis compared with TFPI^Flox littermate controls. Taken together, these data indicated that endogenous TFPI from VSMCs inhibited ferric chloride-induced arterial thrombosis without causing hemostatic effects.

Enhanced anaerobic digestion and sludge dewaterability by alkaline pretreatment and its mechanism

To investigate the influences of alkaline pretreatment on anaerobic digestion （AD） and sludge dewaterability after AD, waste activated sludge was adjusted to different pH values （8, 9, 10, 1 1, 12） and placed at ambient temperature for 24 hr. The samples were then adjusted to the initial pH and subjected to 25 days of AD. The results showed that, when compared with the control （pH 6.8）, total suspended solids （TSS） and volatile suspended solids （VSS） reduction following pretreatment at pH 9-11 increased by 10.7%-13.1% and 6.5%- 12.8%, respectively, while biogas production improved by 7.2%-15.4%. Additionally, significant enhancement of sludge dewaterability after AD occurred when pretreatment at pH 8-9 was conducted. The proteins and carbohydrates transferred from the pellet and tightly bound extracellular polymeric substances （TB-EPS） fractions to the slime and loosely bound EPS （LB-EPS） fractions after pretreatment and during the AD process, and the concentrations of proteins and carbohydrates in the slime fraction had a good linear relationship with the normalized capillary suction time （CST）. During the AD process, the normalized CST was positively correlated with the organic materials in the loosely bound fraction of the sludge matrix （R2/〉 0.700, p 〈 0.01）, while it was negatively correlated with the organic materials in the tightly bound fraction （R2≥ 0.702, p 〈 0.01）. These results suggest that alkaline pretreatment could break the EPS matrix and release inner organic materials, thus influencing the efficiency of the AD process and dewaterability after AD.
