INFLUENCE OF THE ASIAN SUMMER MONSOON ON THE MIGRATION PHENOLOGY AND POPULATION DYNAMICS OF NILAPARVATA LUGENS(ST?L) IN CHINA

With the aim to examine variations in the migration phenology and population of N. lugens along with the advance/retreat of the Asian summer monsoon(ASM) and lay the foundation for further study on predicting the timing and location of N. lugens outbreak, correlation analysis and spatial analysis were applied for estimating the impact of the ASM and its related meteorological factors on the migration phenology and population of N. lugens in China in this paper. The ASM had a positive effect on the occurrence and outbreak of N. lugens. First, the first appearance date of *** was consistent with seasonal advances of the northernmost location of the ASM, and the ASM provided the dynamic condition for the northward migration of N. lugens. Second, outbreak of N. lugens occurred in the area under the control of the ASM, and the ASM provided the survival condition for the population of N. lugens. Third, the population was positively related to the northernmost location of the ASM, θ_E(850 hPa) and wind speed(850 hPa).Particularly, the stronger southwest wind caused the date of the first, peak and last catches of N. lugens to turn up earlier than in the extremely years.

The distinct influences of cephalosporins(CEPs, i.e., cefamandole nafate and cefpirome sulfate) affiliated to different generations on the volatile fatty acids(VFAs) production and antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs) fates during waste activated sludge(WAS) fermentation were unveiled. The presence of CEPs mainly exhibited negative effects on the total VFAs production(5%–15% reduction), especially the cefamandole nafate, which is quite different to previous understanding. Further investigation revealed that the CEPs contributed to the solubilization and hydrolysis but inhibited the acidification process by affecting the functional microbial populations(i.e., Tissierella) and general microbial metabolic activities(i.e., pyruvate metabolism and VFAs biosynthesis). In addition, CEPs(especially the cefpirome sulfate)caused the propagation of ARGs(i.e., bla TEM, tet X and mex F) during WAS fermentation. CEPs enhanced the cell membrane permeability to promote the antibiotics mechanism of efflux pump and the horizontal transfer of ARGs. Also, the CEPs altered the regulatory systems(i.e., two component system) and microbial populations associated with ARGs, resulting in the proliferation of specific ARGs. Overall, the dissimilarity of different CEPs impacts on the WAS fermentation for VFAs production and ARGs variations enlightened the diverse environmental behaviors of anthropogenic pollutants and evoked the caution of ecological risks.

Step-by-Step Laser Crystallization of Amorphous Si：H/SiNx：H Multilayer for Active Layer in Microcavities

We report the crystallization and photoluminescence （PL） properties of amorphous Si：H/SiNx ：H multilayer （ML） films treated by step-by-step laser annealing. The results of Raman measurements show that the nanocrystalline Si （nc-Si） grains are formed in the a-Si：H layers under the constrained growth mechanism. The blue shift of PL peak with grain size is observed and can be attributed to the quantum confinement effect, For comparison, we also report the crystallization and PL of a-Si：H/SiNx：H ML samples by normal one-step treatment, This method of step-by-step laser treatment will be a candidate to make nc-Si quantum dots in amorphous Si：H/SiNx：H ML as an active layer in microcavities.

Comparison of three fundus inspection methods during phacoemulsification in diabetic white cataract

AIM:To investigate whether Wild Field Imaging System(WFIS SW-8000),25G endoilluminator,and intraoperative optical coherence tomography(iOCT)can perform realtime screening and diagnosing in patients with suspicious diabetic retinopathy(DR)during phacoemulsification,especially in cases of white ***:A cross-sectional study was carried out.A total of 204 dense diabetic cataractous eyes of 204 patients with suspected DR treated from April 2020 to March 2021 were *** combined with intraocular lens implantation was *** the removal of the lens opacity,the 25G endoilluminator,fundus photography,and iOCT were performed *** coherence tomography(OCT)and/or fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA)were used to verify the fundus findings *** and postoperative results were compared to verify the accuracy of intraoperative diagnosis in each ***:Intraoperative and postoperative examinations revealed 58 and 62 eyes with DR,respectively(positive rate,28.43%and 30.39%,respectively).During the phacoemulsification,WFIS SW-8000 detected 44 eyes with DR(the detection rate,70.97%);25G endo-illuminator found 56 eyes with DR(the detection rate,90.32%);iOCT found 46 eyes with DR(the detection rate,74.19%);and 58 eyes with DR were found by combining the three methods(the detection rate,93.55%).There were statistically significant differences in the diagnostic sensitivity for DR among the methods(χ^(2)=16.36,P=0.001).CONCLUSION:WFIS SW-8000,25G endo-illuminator,iOCT,and especially their combination can be used to inspect the fundus and detect DR intraoperatively;they are helpful for the timely diagnosis and treatment of DR in patients with dense cataract.

Internal Friction of Bend-Deformed Nanocrystalline Nickel by Mechanical Spectroscopy

Internal friction of nanocrystalline nickel is investigated by mechanical spectroscopy from 360 K to 120 K. Two relaxation peaks are found when nanocrystalline nickel is bent up to 10% strain at room temperature and fast cooling. However, these two peaks disappear when the sample is annealed at room temperature in vacuum for ten days. The occurrence and disappearance of the two relaxation peaks can be explained by the interactions of partial dislocations and point defects in nanocrystalline materials.

Possible Impact of Spatial and Temporal Non-Uniformity in Land Surface Temperature Data on Trend Estimation

The present work investigates possible impact of the non-uniformity in observed land surface temperature on trend estimation, based on Climatic Research Unit （CRU） Temperature Version 4 （CRUTEM4） monthly temperature data-sets from 1900 to 2012. The CRU land temperature data exhibit remarkable non-uniformity in spatial and temporal features. The data are characterized by an uneven spatial distribution of missing records and station density, and dis-play a significant increase of available sites around 1950. Considering the impact of missing data, the trends seem to be more stable and reliable when estimated based on data with 〈 40% missing percent, compared to the data with above 40% missing percent. Mean absolute error （MAE） between data with 〈 40% missing percent and global data is only 0.011℃ （0.014℃） for 1900-50 （1951-2012）. The associated trend estimated by reliable data is 0.087℃ decade^-1 （0.186℃ decade^-l） for 1900-50 （1951-2012）, almost the same as the trend of the global data. However, due to non-uniform spatial distribution of missing data, the global signal seems mainly coming from the regions with good data coverage, especially for the period 1900-50. This is also confirmed by an extreme test conducted with the records in the United States and Africa. In addition, the influences of spatial and temporal non-uniform features in observation data on trend estimation are significant for the areas with poor data coverage, such as Africa, while insig-nificant for the countries with good data coverage, such as the United States.

Mg-Y-Zn alloys with long period stacking ordered(LPSO)structure have received much attention recently and exhibit great potential in applications such as automotive,aerospace and in bio-medical *** paper aimed to investigate the effect of different phase constitution of LPSO structures on corrosion rate of bio-medical Mg-Y-Zn *** results showed that as-cast Mg98.5Y1Zn0.5 alloys containing only 18R structure exhibited the highest corrosion resistance with the corrosion rate of 2.78 mm/*** precipitation of 14H lamellas within a-Mg grains during solid solution treatment introduced the crystallographic orientation corrosion by accelerating micro-galvanic *** increase of 18R/14H interfaces deteriorated the corrosion resistance,and the grain boundaries also suffered from severe electrochemical *** work suggested that Mg-Y-Zn alloys with single LPSO structure(either 18R or 14H)exhibited better corrosion resistance than alloys with co-existence 18R and I4H LPSO structures.

Formation mechanism of titanium and niobium carbides in hardfacing alloy

The most effective carbide-forming elements titanium and niobium were added into hardfacing *** and composition of carbides in the hardfacing alloy were investigated by means of optical microscope（OM）,scanning electron microscope（SEM）,X-ray diffraction（XRD）and energy-dispersive spectrometer（EDS）.Hardness and impact toughness of the hardfacing alloy were *** thermodynamics and formation mechanism of carbides were also *** is found that the carbides consist of TiC and NbC which are able to form directly from welding pool during the welding *** formation mechanism of carbides involves nucleation of TiC followed by epitaxial precipitation of NbC on the surface of *** formation of titanium and niobium carbides can obviously refine the microstructure and deplete the carbon in the *** micros tructure transforms to well-distributed carbides and a tough martensite matrix,contributing to a good combination of high hardness and high toughness in the hardfacing alloy.

Preparation and Performance of Al_2TiO_5-TiO_2-SiO_2 Honeycomb Ceramics by Doping Rare Earth

A preferable honeycomb ceramics of Al2TiO5-TiO2-SiO2 doped by CeO2 and Er2O3 with high performance was prepared by means of extrusion molding and the effects of CeO2 and Er2O3 on the mechanical strength, thermal stability, and sintering temperature of ATS ceramics were mainly investigated. The experimental results and the microscopic analysis by scanning electron microscope, X-ray powder diffxaction, and TG-DSC showed that adding CeO2 and Er2O3 into ATS could prohibit the growth of their crystal grains and make their size uniform, which finally decrease its sintering temperature, and also enhance its mechanical performance as well as thermal stability. After the reforming, ATS doped by 0.5% CeO2 ＋0.5% Er2O3 was sintered at 1250 ℃, its bending strength reached to 177A MPa and thermal expansion coefficient was 3.8 ~ 10^-6/℃ at 25 - 1000℃, which provided a promising basis of making monolithic honeycomb catalyst of deNOx.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),which makes up the majority of liver cancer,is induced by the infection of hepatitis B/C *** are needed to facilitate the early detection of HCC,which is often diagnosed too late for effective *** tRNA-derived small RNAs(tsRNAs)play vital roles in tumorigenesis and are stable in ***,the diagnostic values and biological functions of circulating tsRNAs,especially for HCC,are still *** this study,we first utilized RNA sequencing followed by quantitative reverse-transcription PCR to analyze tsRNA signatures in HCC *** identified tRF-Gln-TTG-006,which was remarkably upregulated in HCC serum(training cohort:24 HCC patients vs.24 healthy controls).In the validation stage,we found that tRF-Gln-TTG-006 signature could distinguish HCC cases from healthy subjects with high sensitivity(80.4%)and specificity(79.4%)even in the early stage(Stage I:sensitivity,79.0%;specificity,74.8%;155 healthy controls vs.153 HCC patients from two cohorts).Moreover,in vitro studies indicated that circulating tRF-Gln-TTG-006 was released from tumor cells,and its biological function was predicted by bioinformatics assay and validated by colony formation and apoptosis *** summary,our study demonstrated that serum tsRNA signature may serve as a novel biomarker of HCC.
