People in elevators are at risk of respiratory infection because the elevator cabin is crowded and has poor *** exhaled particles may be inhaled by the susceptible person,deposited on the surface and suspended in the elevator,which can result in direct and indirect ***,whether the air vent designs adopted in the elevator can effectively reduce the transmission risk of respiratory particles remains *** this study,the dispersion of particles under four common ventilation strategies used in the commercial elevator was investigated by proven computational fluid dynamics(CFD)*** flow field was simulated with the RNG κ-ξ turbulence model and the Lagrangian method was adopted to track particle *** effects of air vent layout and airflow rate on particle transmission were *** found that more than 50% of exhaled particles(average value)were suspended in the cabin and difficult to discharge under the investigated ventilation *** deposited fraction of particles on the susceptible person reached up to 39.14% for infiltration ventilation,which led to a high risk of contact *** the ventilation rate could not significantly reduce the inhalation proportion of particles due to the poor airflow distribution inside the elevator.A more proper ventilation strategy should be explored for the elevator to control transmission risk.

β-catenin is an integral part of the Wnt signaling pathway and has been linked to tumorigenesis and multiple developmental processes. The high β-catenin expression with low tumor incidence in the human epididymis is thus intriguing. In the present study, the β-catenin gene and protein was found to be highly expressed in the murine caput epididymidis, and the protein mainly localized along the lateral plasma membranes of adjacent epithelial cells throughout both human and mouse epididymides. Furthermore, the adult mouse epididymis was found to express almost all the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway genes that were determined previously by our group in the human organ. Despite the differences in epididymal structure, the similar location of β-catenin and the high concordance of this pathway＇s components＇ gene expression in both the adult human and mouse epididymides make the mouse a suitable animal model for studying the anti-tumor mechanism of the epididymis. In addition, both the mRNA and protein expression of β-catenin shared a similar spatial expression as the mRNA of Rosl, a proto-oncogene and a key developmental regulator of the initial segment of the mouse epididymis. The observations on the parallel temporal expression of β-catenin and Rosl during postnatal development raise the possibility that the canonical Writ signaling pathway has an additional role in the postnatal development of mouse epididymis.

As an important process during the cement production,grate cooler plays significance roles on clinker cooling and waste heat *** this paper,we measured experimentally the heat balance of the grate cooler,which provided initial operating parameters for ***,the grate cooler was simplified into a series-connected heat exchanger network by power flow *** the equivalent thermal resistance network provided the global constraints by Kirchhoff’s *** this basis,with the objectives of the minimum entropy generation numbers caused by heat transfer and viscous dissipation,solving a multi-objective optimization model achieved the Pareto Front by genetic *** selecting the scheme of the lowest fan power consumption obtained the optimal operating parameters of the grate *** results showed that the total mass flow of the optimized scheme did not change significantly compared with the original scheme,but the fan power consumption was 25.44%lower,and the heat recovery efficiency was 88.43%,which was improved by 11.35%.Furthermore,the analysis showed that the optimal operating parameters were affected by the local heat *** optimizing the diameter of clinker particles within the allowable industrial range,the clinker with particle diameter of 0.02 m had the optimal performance.

One-step synthesis of recoverable CuCo2S4 anode material for high-performance Li-ion batteries

A facile one-step hydrothermal method has been adopted to directly synthesize the CuCo2S4 material on the surface of Ni *** to the relatively large specific surface area and wide pore size distribution,the CuCo2S4 material not only effectively increases the reactive area,but also accommodates more side reaction products to avoid the difficulty of mass *** evaluated as anode for Li-ion batteries,the CuCo2S4 material exhibits excellent electrochemical performance including high discharge capacity,outstanding cyclic stability and good rate *** the current density of 200 mA·g^-1,the CuCo2S4 material shows an extremely high initial discharge capacity of 2510 mAh·g^-1,and the cycle numbers of the material even reach 83 times when the discharge capacity is reduced to 500 mAh·g^-***,the discharge capacity can reach 269 mAh·g^-1 at a current of 2000 mA·g^-*** importantly,when the current density comes back to 200 mA·g^-1,the discharge capacity could be recovered to 1436 mAh·g^-1,suggesting an excellent capacity recovery characteristics.

The intertwined ferroelectricity and band topology will enable the non-volatile control of the topological states,which is of importance for nanoelectrics with low energy costing and high response ***,the principle to design such system is unclear and the feasible approach to achieve the coexistence of two parameter orders is ***,we propose a general paradigm to design 2D ferroelectric topological insulators by sliding topological multilayers on the basis of first-principles *** trilayer Bi2Te3 as a model system,we show that in the van der Waals multilayer based 2D topological insulators,the in-plane and out-of-plane ferroelectricity can be induced through a specific interlayer sliding,to enable the coexistence of ferroelectric and topological *** strong coupling of the order parameters renders the topological states sensitive to polarization flip,realizing non-volatile ferroelectric control of topological *** revealed design-guideline and ferroelectric-topological coupling not only are useful for the fundamental research of the coupled ferroelectric and topological physics in 2D lattices,but also enable innovative applications in nanodevices.

2D spontaneous valley polarization attracts great interest both for its fundamental physics and for its potential applications in advanced information technology,but it can only be obtained from inversion asymmetric single-layer crystals,while the possibility to create 2D spontaneous valley polarization from inversion symmetric single-layer lattices remains ***,starting from inversion symmetric single-layer lattices,a general design principle for realizing 2D spontaneous valley polarization based on van der Waals interaction is mapped *** first-principles calculations,we further demonstrate the feasibility of this design principle in a real material of *** remarkably,such design principle exhibits the additional exotic out-of-plane ferroelectricity,which could manifest many distinctive properties,for example,ferroelectricity-valley coupling and magnetoelectric *** explored design-guideline and phenomena are applicable to a vast family of 2D *** work not only opens up a platform for 2D valleytronic research but also promises the fundamental research of coupling physics in 2D lattices.

Surface Lewis acid-base sites in crystal structure may influence the physicochemical properties and the catalytic performances in *** the synergistic effect mechanism of Co_(3)O_(4)nanozymes towards substances(3,3’,5,5’-tetramethylbenzidine(TMB)and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2))induced by surface Lewis acid-base sites is important to enhance the efficiency for peroxidase-like ***,ultrathin porous Co_(3)O_(4)nanosheets with abundant Lewis acid-base sites were prepared by sodium borohydride(NaBH4)reduction treatment,which exhibited high-efficiency peroxidase-like activity compared with original Co_(3)O_(4)*** Lewis acid-base sites for ultrathin porous Co_(3)O_(4)nanosheets nanozyme were owing to the coordination unsaturation of Co ions and the formation of defect *** porous Co_(3)O_(4)nanosheets had 18.26-fold higher catalytic efficiency(1.27×10^(-2)s^(-1)·mM^(-1))than that of original Co_(3)O_(4)(6.95×10^(-4)s^(-1)·mM^(-1))in oxidizing TMB *** synergistic effect of surface acid and base sites can enhance the interfacial electron transfer process of Co_(3)O_(4)nanosheets,which can be a favor of absorption substrates and the generation of reactive intermediates such as ***,the limit of detection of hydroquinol was 0.58μM for ultrathin porous Co_(3)O_(4)nanosheets,965-fold lower than original Co_(3)O_(4)(560μM).Besides,the linear range of ultrathin porous Co_(3)O_(4)nanosheets was widely with the concentration of 5.0-1,000μ*** detection of hydroquinol by agarose-based hydrogel membrane was provided based on excellent peroxidase-like *** study provided insights into designing high-performance nanozymes for peroxidase-like catalysis via a strategy of solid surface acid-base sites engineering.

Study on gas–liquid flow in stirred tank with two combinations of dual-impeller(six-bent-bladed turbine(6BT)+six-inclined-blade down-pumping turbine(6 ITD),the six-bent-bladed turbine(6BT)+six-inclinedblade up-pumping turbine(6ITU))was conducted using computational fluid dynamics(CFD)and population balance model(PBM)(CFD-PBM)coupled *** local bubble size was captured by particle image velocimetry(PIV)*** gas holdup,bubble size distribution and gas–liquid interfacial area were explored at different conditions through numerical *** results showed that the 4 mm bubbles accounted for the largest proportion of 33%at the gas flow rates Q=0.76 m^(3)·h^(-1) and 22%at Q=1.52 m^(3)·h^(-1) for combined impeller of 6BT+6ITU,while the bubbles of 4.7 mm and 5.5 mm were the largest proportion for 6BT+6ITD combination,i.e.25%at Q=0.76 m^(3)·h^(-1) and 22%at Q=1.52 m^(3)·h^(-1),respectively,which indicated that 6BT+6ITU could reduce bubble size effectively and promote gas *** addition,the gas holdup around impellers was increased obviously with the speed compared with gas flow *** it was concluded that 6ITU impeller could be more conductive to the bubble dispersion with more uniform bubble size,which embodied the advantages of 6BT+6ITU combination in gas–liquid mixing.
