Probabilistic back-analysis of rainfall-induced landslides for slope reliability prediction with multi-source information

Probabilistic back-analysis is an important means to infer the statistics of uncertain soil parameters,making the slope reliability assessment closer to the engineering ***,multi-source information(including test data,monitored data,field observation and slope survival records)is rarely used in current probabilistic *** the probabilistic back-analysis of spatially varying soil parameters and slope reliability prediction under rainfalls by integrating multi-source information is a challenging task since thousands of random variables and high-dimensional likelihood function are usually *** this paper,a framework by integrating a modified Bayesian Updating with Subset simulation(mBUS)method with adaptive Conditional Sampling(aCS)algorithm is established for the probabilistic back-analysis of spatially varying soil parameters and slope reliability *** this framework,the high-dimensional probabilistic back-analysis problem can be easily tackled,and the multi-source information(*** pressure heads and slope survival records)can be fully used in the back-analysis.A real Taoyuan landslide case in Taiwan,china is investigated to illustrate the effectiveness and performance of the established *** findings show that the posterior knowledge of soil parameters obtained from the established framework is in good agreement with the field ***,the updated knowledge of soil parameters can be utilized to reliably predict the occurrence probability of a landslide caused by the heavy rainfall event on September 12,2004 or forecast the potential landslides under future rainfalls in the Fuhsing District of Taoyuan City,Taiwan,china.

Visible-light-driven photocatalysis is a promising technology for the treatment of dye *** this work,a novel photocatalyst of K-doped g-C_(3)N_(4) loaded on magnetic attapulgite(ATP)(Kω-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4))with excellent visible light photocatalytic properties and stability were successfully prepared and *** removal efficiency of Kω-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4) for malachite green(MG)was studied,and the degradation mechanism was analyzed and *** was found that the K_(5)-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4) photocatalyst possessed excellent degradation efficiency of over 98.0%for the MG dye wastewater under optimal ***,the K_(5)-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4) materials possessed good recyclability with a removal rate over 82%after 4 *** visible light condition,the K_(5)-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4) photocatalyst produce radicals of·OH and O_(2)^(-)to degrade the MG dyes,which was supported by electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)and radical trapping *** addition,the LC-MS analysis interpreted the degradation pathways and intermediates of MG in the *** findings in this work indicate that the prepared photocatalytic material has excellent degradation efficiency for MG and can be applied in dye wastewater treatment.

Crystal polymers or liquid crystal elastomers undergo a phase transition that results in a change in the corresponding optical properties,which has the potential to be applied in areas such as information encryption and *** utilization of these materials for patterning purposes requires different phase transition ***,once prepared,altering the phase transition temperature of them presents significant ***,a poly(oxime-ester)(POE)network is developed to achieve high-resolution and multilevel patterning by photo-induced *** as-prepared POE exhibits the ability to transition from an opaque state to a transparent state under temperature stimuli,with the transition temperature and kinetics dependent on UV light exposure ***,complex patterns and information can be encrypted through different selective regional exposure time and decrypted under specific temperature or cooling ***,we illustrate an example of temporal communication,where cooling time or temperature serves as the encoded *** research expands the application scope of advanced encryption materials,showcasing the potential of POE in dynamic information encryption and decryption processes.

Bismuth sodium titanate(BNT)ceramics exhibit outstanding strain responses but are unfavorable for application in high-sensitivity displacement actuators due to the large negative strain resulting from irreversible changes in their phase transition and domain ***,(1−x)Bi_(0.50)Na_(0.41)K_(0.09)TiO_(3)-xNaNbO_(3)(BNKT−xNN)solid solutions were prepared to improve the strain properties through the strategy of modulating the phase boundary and domain *** introduction of sodium niobate could effectively regulate the relative content of the tetragonal(P4bm)and rhombohedral(R3c)phases in the phase boundary *** ferroelectric-to-relaxor phase transition(T_(F−R))was reduced,and the ergodic relaxor(ER)state was nurtured at room *** zero-negative strain properties of S=0.41%and d_(33)^(*)=742 pm/V were achieved from the reversible transition between the ER and ferroelectric states under an applied electric field(x=0.04).Additionally,understanding the domain states via piezoelectric force microscopy(PFM)and firstorder reversal curve(FORC)revealed that the superior strain responses originated from the reversible inter-transformation of substable macrodomains and polar nanoregions(PNRs)in the phase *** study provides new insight into the interplay between the evolution of phase boundaries and domain structures and the strain properties of BNT-based ceramics.

Due to the wide application of rare earth elements,lanthanum(La) is gradually accumulated in our living *** can enter the body through a variety of routes,which has a series of effects on various *** a consequence,the safety of lanthanum deserves our *** study aims to compare the toxicity of lanthanum oxide nanoparticles(La_(2)O_(3) NPs) and lanthanum chloride(LaCl_(3)) and enrich the toxicity evaluation of ***,a 30 d intragastal experiment was conducted.C57BL/6j mice were given by La_(2)O_(3) NPs solution and LaCl_(3) solution respectively at doses of 0,30,60 and120 mg/kg BW(lanthanum content).The results show that,compared with the control group,both La_(2)O_(3)NPs and LaCl_(3) can reduce the body weight of female mice in the high-dose group,but for male mice,the high-dose La_(2)O_(3) NPs solution can increase the body weight,while LaCl_(3) has the opposite *** coefficients of liver,kidney,heart,lung,uterine and ovaries increase first and then decrease with the exposure dose,but testes and epididymides coefficient keep increasing with the exposure of LaCl_(3) and La_(2)O_(3) ***_(2)O_(3) NPs and LaCl_(3) can reduce the concentration of triglycerides(TG) and increase the level of low density lipoprotein(LDL),but the effect of La_(2)O_(3) NPs is more ***_(2)O_(3) NPs and LaCl_(3) can reduce the concentration of malondialdehyde(MDA),increase the total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)and enhance the activity of catalase(CAT),but LaCl_(3) has more obvious protective effects on oxidative ***_(2)O_(3) NPs and LaCl_(3) have potential risks to liver,and the toxicity of La_(2)O_(3) NPs might be higher than that of LaCl_(3).

In order to reduce or eliminate the adverse effects of calcium impurity,the interaction of Ca and rare earth Y co-doping on the preparation of WC-Co cemented carbides was investigated.X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy were employed to analyze the phase compositions,particle sizes and morphologies of them,*** results show that the second type of"yttrium barrier effect"is observed and the adverse influence of Ca-rich phase on tungsten powder can be eliminated by *** flexural strength and fracture toughness of YG6-0.01%Ca+0.09%Y alloy are 2199.5 MPa and 11.49 MPa·m^(1/2),showing improvement of 6.5% and 2.7% compared to YG6 alloy,*** evolutions of Ca-rich phase and Y-rich phase at the every alloy preparation stage of WO_(3),W,WC and cemented carbides are ***,the strengthening mechanism of WC-Co cemented carbide with co-addition of Ca and Y is proposed.

Soft pneumatic actuators are one of the most promising actuation for soft robots,and great achievements have been *** it remains challenging to endow sensing capabilities to pneumatic actuators,especially for the sensing ability originating directly from the actuator ***,a self-sensing pneumatic torsional actuator(SPTA)is designed based on the electromagnetic induction effect and magnetically responsive *** SPTA can generate feedback voltage and current with the deformation,in which the sensing function comes from its inherent *** investigate the mechanical and electrical characteristics,an experimental platform and a finite element model are established,*** find that the torsion angle and output torque increase in nonlinear with the actuating *** maximum torsion angle is 66.35°,which is 84.34%of that for the actuator fabricated by pure *** maximum output torque(24.9 N mm)improves by 23.19%compared with the actuator made by pure *** regards the electrical characteristics,the maximum feedback voltage and current are 2.90μV and 29.50 nA when the SPTA is actuated by a pressure of−40 *** also demonstrate that the relationship between the torsion angle and the magnetic flux change is approximately ***,the number of turns of wires,magnetic powders contents,and magnetic direction on the feedback voltage and current are *** show that the feedback voltage and current can be enhanced by increasing the number of turns and magnetic powders *** envision that the SPTA would be promising for soft robots to realize their accuracy control and intelligentization.

ZnS and ZnS:3.125%Ce^(3+)(ZSC)quantum dots(QDs)were synthesized by a low-temperature solid-phase *** crystal structure,photoluminescence(PL)properties of ZSC QDs,and their effects on the growth and kojic acid production of Aspergillus oryzae(***)were *** is found that both QDs have a cubic blend structure with the average particle size ranging of 2.75-6.14 ***^(3+)doping not only increases the band gap of ZnS QDs from 3.43 to 3.48 eV,but also increases the PL intensity by about 2.23 times,which is due to the fact that the electron carrier concentration is improved,and then the rate of radiative recombination is *** integral emission intensity,biomass,extracellular proteins yield,and kojic acid production of *** cultured with ZSC(ZnS)QDs are about 4.31(3.23),1.61(1.20),1.12(1.09),and 2.99(1.68)times higher than that of medium without QDs,respectively.

The efficient extraction of uranium,as the primary component of nuclear energy,holds significant *** inspiration from the charge interaction observed in biological ion channels,we encapsulated negatively charged polystyrene sulfonate(PSS)or sodium polystyrene carboxylate(PVBA)into the nanochannels of amidoxime functionalized covalent organic framework(COF-AO)in-situ to alter the cavity environment of *** synthesized COF-AO-PSS and COF-AO-PVBA are used for ultra-fast and highly selective uranium *** negatively charged PSS/PVBA was confined in the COF-AO channel providing the driving force for uranium transport and blocking other ions,thus creating a highly selective“uranium highway”.Additionally,introducing sulfonate groups or carboxyl groups into COF-AO offers supplementary coordination environments and weak interactions with *** to charge-assisted migration and various interaction mechanisms,both COF-AO-PSS and COF-AO-PVBA exhibit faster adsorption kinetics and higher selectivity compared to COF-AO *** adsorption capacities are 3.8 times and 2.4 times that of COF-AO alone respectively which highlights the necessity for constructing biomimetic ion channels in uranium adsorption *** work presents a bionic adsorbent based on covalent organic frameworks(COFs)for the first time,overcoming environmental and equipment limitations associated with traditional photocatalysis and electrocatalysis methods for uranium capture,opening up new avenues for designing multifunctional materials that mimic biological systems.
