Construction of 3D porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks for ultrafast and long-cycle life sodium-ion storage

Transition metal sulfides have great potential as anode mterials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to their high theoretical specific ***,the inferior intrinsic conductivity and large volume variation during sodiation-desodiation processes seriously affect its high-rate and long-cyde performance,unbeneficial for the application as fast-charging and long-cycling SIBs ***,the three-dimensional porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks(Cu_(1.81)S/NC)are synthesized by the simple and facile sol-gel and annealing processes,which can accommodate the volumetric expansion of Cu_(1.81)S nanoparticles and accelerate the transmission of ions and electrons during Na^(+)insertion/extraction processes,exhibiting the excellent rate capability(250.6 mA·g^(-1)at 20.0 A·g^(-1))and outstanding cycling stability(70% capacity retention for 6000 cycles at 10.0 A·g^(-1))for ***,the Na-ion full cells coupled with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)/C cathode also demonstrate the satisfactory reversible specific capacity of 330.5 mAh·g^(-1)at 5.0 A·g^(-1)and long-cycle performance with the 86.9% capacity retention at 2.0 A·g^(-1)after 750 *** work proposes a promising way for the conversionbased metal sulfides for the applications as fast-charging sodium-ion battery anode.

Giant enhancement of negative friction by resonant coupling between localized surface phonon polaritons and graphene plasmonics

Negative friction refers to a frictional force that acts in the same direction as the motion of an object, which has been predicted in terahertz(THz) gain systems [Phys. Rev. B 108 045406(2023)]. In this work, we investigate the enhancement of the negative friction experienced by nanospheres placed near a graphene substrate. We find that the magnitude of negative friction is related to the resonant coupling between the surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs) of the graphene and localized surface phonon polaritons(LSPh P) of nanospheres. We exam nanospheres consisted of several different materials, including SiO_(2), Si C, Zn Se, Na Cl, ln Sb. Our results suggest that the LSPh P of Na Cl nanospheres match effectively with the amplified SPPs of graphene sheets. The negative friction for Na Cl nanospheres can be enhanced about one-to-two orders of magnitude compared to that of silica(SiO_(2)) nanospheres. At the resonant peak of negative friction, the required quasi-Fermi energy of graphene is lower for Na Cl nanospheres. Our finds hold great prospects for the mechanical manipulations of nanoscale particles.

Retinitis pigmentosa is a group of inherited diseases that lead to retinal degeneration and photoreceptor cell ***,there is no effective treatment for retinitis pigmentosa caused by PDE6B ***-associated virus(AAV)-mediated gene therapy is a promising strategy for treating retinitis *** aim of this study was to explore the molecular mechanisms by which AAV2-PDE6B rescues retinal *** do this,we injected retinal degeneration 10(rd10)mice subretinally with AAV2-PDE6B and assessed the therapeutic effects on retinal function and structure using dark-and light-adapted electroretinogram,optical coherence tomography,and ***-independent acquisition-mass spectrometry-based proteomic analysis was conducted to investigate protein expression levels and pathway enrichment,and the results from this analysis were verified by real-time polymerase chain reaction and western ***2-PDE6B injection significantly upregulated PDE6βexpression,preserved electroretinogram responses,and preserved outer nuclear layer thickness in rd10 *** expressed proteins between wild-type and rd10 mice were closely related to visual perception,and treating rd10 mice with AAV2-PDE6B restored differentially expressed protein expression to levels similar to those seen in wild-type *** Encyclopedia of Genes and Genome analysis showed that the differentially expressed proteins whose expression was most significantly altered by AAV2-PDE6B injection were enriched in phototransduction ***,the phototransductionrelated proteins Pde6α,Rom1,Rho,Aldh1a1,and Rbp1 exhibited opposite expression patterns in rd10 mice with or without AAV2-PDE6B ***,Bax/Bcl-2,p-ERK/ERK,and p-c-Fos/c-Fos expression levels decreased in rd10 mice following AAV2-PDE6B *** data suggest that AAV2-PDE6B-mediated gene therapy promotes phototransduction and inhibits apoptosis by inhibiting the ERK signaling pathway and upr

Enhanced dynamics of Al3+/H+ ions in aqueous aluminum ion batteries:Construction of metastable structures in vanadium pentoxide upon oxygen vacancies

In recent years,aqueous aluminum ion batteries have been widely studied owing to their abundant energy storage and high theo retical *** in-depth study of vanadium oxide materials is necessary to address the precipitation of insoluble products covered cathode surface and the slow reaction ***,a method using a simple one-step hydrothermal preparation and oxalic acid to regulate oxygen vacancies has been reported.A high starting capacity(400 mAh g-1) can be achieved by Ov-V2O5,and it is capable of undergoing 200 cycles at 0.4 A g-1,with a termination discharge capacity of103 mAh *** analysis demonstrated that metastable structures（AlxV2O5and HxV2O5） were constructed through the insertion of Al3+/H+during discharging,which existed in the lattice intercalation with *** incorporation of oxygen vacancies lowers the reaction energy barrier while improving the ion transport *** addition,the metastable structure allows the electrostatic interaction between Al3+and the main backbone to establish protection and optimize the transport *** parallel,this work exploits ex-situ characterization and DFT to obtain a profound insight into the instrumental effect of oxygen vacancies in the construction of metastable structures during in-situ electrochemical activation,with a view to better understanding the mechanism of the synergistic participation of Al3+and H+in the *** work not only reports a method for cathode materials to modulate oxygen vacancies,but also lays the foundation for a deeper understanding of the metastable structure of vanadium oxides.

A novel method for simultaneous measurement of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny concentrations measured by an alpha spectrometer

The accumulation of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny in poorly ventilated environments poses the risk of natural radiation exposure to the public.A previous study indicated that satisfactory results in determining the^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny concentrations by measuring the total alpha counts at five time intervals within 560 min should be expected only in the case of high progeny concentrations in *** complete the measurement within a relatively short period and adapt it for simultaneous measurements at comparatively lower^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny concentrations,a novel mathematical model was proposed based on the radioactive decay *** model employs a nonlinear fitting method to distinguish nuclides with overlapping spectra by utilizing the alpha particle counts of non-overlapping spectra within consecutive measurement cycles to obtain the concentrations of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny in *** verification experiments were conducted using an alpha *** experimental results demonstrate that the concentrations of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny calculated by the new method align more closely with the actual circumstances than those calculated by the total count method,and their relative uncertainties are all within±16%.Furthermore,the measurement time was reduced to 90 min,representing an acceleration of 84%.The improved capability of the new method in distinguishing alpha particles with similar energies emitted from ^(218)Po and^(212)Bi,both approximately 6 MeV,contributed to realizing more accurate *** proposed method has the potential advantage of measuring relatively low concentrations of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny in air more quickly via air filtration.

Investigation into enhanced performance of toluene and Hg0 stimulative abatement over Cr-Mn oxides co-modified columnar activated coke

In this study,a string of Cr-Mnco-modified activated coke catalysts(XCryMn1-y/AC)were prepared to investigate toluene and Hg0 removal *** characterizations including XRD,TEM,SEM,in situ DRIFTS,BET,XPS and H_(2)-TPR showed that 4%Cr0.5Mn0.5/AC had excellent physicochemical properties and exhibited the best toluene and Hg0 removal efficiency at 200◦*** varying the experimental gas components and conditions,it was found that too large weight hourly space velocity would reduce the removal efficiency of toluene and *** O_(2) promoted the abatement of toluene and Hg0,the inhibitory role of H_(2)O and SO_(2) offset the promoting effect of O_(2) to some *** significantly inhibited Hg0 removal,resulting from that toluene was present at concentrations orders of magnitude greater than mercury’s or the catalyst was more prone to adsorb toluene,while Hg0 almost exerted non-existent influence on toluene *** mechanistic analysis showed that the forms of toluene and Hg0 removal included both adsorption and oxidation,where the high-valent metal cations and oxygen vacancy clusters promoted the redox cycle of Cr^(3+)+Mn^(3+)/Mn^(4+)+Cr^(6+)+Mn^(2+),which facilitated the conversion and replenishment of reactive oxygen species in the oxidation process,and even the CrMn1.5O4 spinel structure could provide a larger catalytic interface,thus enhancing the adsorption/oxidation of toluene and ***,its excellent physicochemical properties make it a costeffective potential industrial catalyst with outstanding synergistic toluene and Hg0 removal performance and preeminent resistance to H_(2)O and SO_(2).

This protocol only adopts two-particle product states as the initial quantum resource, only uses d-dimensional single particle measurements and does not employ quantum entanglement swapping operations.

Mole-inspired Forepaw Design and Optimization Based on Resistive Force Theory

Moles exhibit highly effective capabilities due to their unique body structures and digging techniques, making them ideal models for biomimetic research. However, a major challenge for mole-inspired robots lies in overcoming resistance in granular media when burrowing with forelimbs. In the absence of effective forepaw design strategies, most robotic designs rely on increased power to enhance performance. To address this issue, this paper employs Resistive Force Theory to optimize mole-inspired forepaws, aiming to enhance burrowing efficiency. By analyzing the relationship between geometric parameters and burrowing forces, we propose several forepaw design variations. Through granular resistance assessments, an effective forepaw configuration is identified and further refined using parameters such as longitudinal and transverse curvature. Subsequently, the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm is applied to determine the optimal forepaw design. In force-loading tests, the optimized forepaw demonstrated a 79.44% reduction in granular lift force and a 22.55% increase in propulsive force compared with the control group. In robotic burrowing experiments, the optimized forepaw achieved the longest burrow displacement (179.528 mm) and the lowest burrowing lift force (0.9355 mm/s), verifying its effectiveness in reducing the lift force and enhancing the propulsive force.

Nitrate(NO3-)is a widespread pollutant in high-salt wastewater and causes serious harm to human *** electrochemical removal of nitrate has been demonstrated to be a promising treatment method,the development of low-cost electro-catalysts is still *** this work,a phosphate modified iron(P-Fe)cathode was prepared for electrochemical removal of nitrate in high-salt *** phosphate modification greatly improved the activity of iron,and the removal rate of nitrate on P-Fe was three times higher than that on Fe *** experiments and density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrated that the modification of phosphoric acid improved the stability and the activity of the zero-valent iron electrode effectively for *** nitrate was firstly electrochemically reduced to ammonium,and then reacted with the anodic generated hypochlorite to *** this study,a strategy was developed to improve the activity and stability of metal electrode for NO_(3)^(-)removal,which opened up a new field for the efficient reduction of NO3-removal by metal electrode materials.
