Numerical investigation on thermomechanical behavior of alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractories for purging plug

Alumina–spinel refractories used in slit-type purging plugs are susceptible to cross-sectional damage,resulting in a serious mismatch between their service life and that of ***–calcium hexaluminate refractories have gradually become the new trend in purging plug materials with the development of refining *** thermomechanical damage of slit-type purging plugs with alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractory was investigated by the thermo-solid coupling *** with the polynomial fitting and design of experiments methods,the influence of thermophysical parameters on temperature and thermal stress of alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractories for purging plugs was systematically *** results show that the maximum thermal stress of the purging plugs appears during the stages of steel transporting and stirring,and the vulnerable parts are located above Y=0.323 *** thermal conductivity and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the material are the most sensitive parameters to the temperature and thermal stress inside the structure,*** addition of more calcium hexaluminate can relieve the stress concentration and large deformation around the ***,when the content of calcium hexaluminate is 47 wt.%and in the form of aggregate-binder,the temperature and thermal stress distribution inside the refractory are optimal,which can effectively improve the service life of the slit-type purging plug.

Stochastic electricity markets have drawn attention due to fast increase of renewable *** results in two issues:one is to reduce uplift payments arising from non-convexity under renewable uncertainties,and the other one is to allocate reserve costs based on renewable *** resolve the first issue,a convex hull pricing method for stochastic electricity markets is *** dual variables of system-wide constraints in a chance-constrained unit commitment model are shown to reduce expected uplift payments,together with developing a linear program to efficiently calculate such *** resolve the second issue,an allocation method is proposed to allocate reserve costs to each renewable power plant by explicitly investigating how renewable uncertainties of each renewable power plant affect reserve *** proposed methods are validated in a 24-period 3-unit test example and a 24-period 48-unit utility example.

Conducting scientific drilling on subglacial lakes and obtaining samples of subglacial lake water holds great significance in unraveling the formation and evolution of Antarctic subglacial lakes and early Earth's life *** various approaches to access and directly sample subglacial water and sediments,clean access and exploration of subglacial lakes remain *** address this concern,Jilin University has developed the RECoverable Autonomous Sonde(RECAS)*** technology enables sampling and in-situ detection of subglacial lake water while being isolated from the surface,thus minimizing the risk of *** tests,including downward and upward drilling,long-running,remote-control,and cold-environment assessments,were conducted to validate the sonde's principle and *** the 38th Chinese national Antarctic Research Expedition,CHINARE(2021–2022 season),the RECAS prototype underwent testing on the flank region of Dalk glacier,10 km from Zhongshan Station in *** boreholes with depths of 200.3,183.2,and 133.5 m were successfully drilled,with the refrozen meltwater sealing the boreholes during the *** 600 mL of melted water samples were collected from each *** the drilling tests,all systems of the RECAS prototype performed within the expected ranges.

Many-body localization(MBL)of a disordered interacting boson system in one dimension is studied numerically at the filling faction *** von Neumann entanglement entropy Svn is commonly used to detect the MBL phase transition but remains challenging to be directly *** on the U(1)symmetry from the particle number conservation,Svn can be decomposed into the particle number entropy S_(n) and the configuration entropy *** light of the tendency that the eigenstate's S_(c) nears zero in the localized phase,we introduce a quantity describing the deviation of S from the ideal thermalization distribution;finite-size scaling analysis illustrates that it shares the same phase transition point with Sv but displays the better critical *** observation hints that the phase transition to MBL might largely be determined by S and its fluctuations Notably,the recent experiments[***,et al.,science 364,256(2019);***,et al.,***.19,481(2023)]demonstrated that this deviation can potentially be measured through the Sn ***,our investigations reveal that the thermalized states primarily occupy the low-energy section of the spectrum,as indicated by measures of localization length,gap ratio,and energy density *** low-energy spectrum of the Bose model closely resembles the entire spectrum of the Fermi(or spin XXZ)model,accommodating a transition from the thermalized to the localized ***,owing to the bosonic statistics,the high-energy spectrum of the model allows the formation of distinct clusters of bosons in the random potential *** analyze the resulting eigenstate properties and briefly summarize the associated *** distinguish between the phase regions at the low and high energies,a probing quantity based on the structure of S_(VN) is also *** work highlights the importance of symmetry combined with entanglement in the study of *** this regard,for the disordered Heisenberg XXZ

Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Shock Response of CL-20 Co-crystals Containing Void Defects

To investigate the effect of void defects on the shock response of hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane(CL-20)co-crystals,shock responses of CL-20 co-crystals with energetic materials ligands trinitrotoluene(TNT),1,3-dinitrobenzene(DNB),solvents ligands dimethyl carbonate(DMC) and gamma-butyrolactone(GBL)with void were simulated,using molecular dynamics method and reactive force *** is found that the CL-20 co-crystals with void defects will form hot spots when impacted,significantly affecting the decomposition of molecules around the *** degree of molecular fragmentation is relatively low under the reflection velocity of 2 km/s,and the main reactions are the formation of dimer and the shedding of nitro *** existence of voids reduces the safety of CL-20 co-crystals,which induced the sensitivity of energetic co-crystals CL-20/TNT and CL-20/DNB to increase more *** has occurred under the reflection velocity of 4 km/s,energetic co-crystals are easier to polymerize than solvent co-crystals,and are not obviously affected by *** results show that the energy of the wave decreases after sweeping over the void,which reduces the chemical reaction frequency downstream of the void and affects the detonation performance,especially the solvent co-crystals.

Island biogeography theory and the habitat heterogeneity jointly explain global patterns of Rhododendron diversity

Mountain biodiversity is of great importance to biogeography and ***,it is unclear what ecological and evolutionary processes best explain the generation and maintenance of its high levels of species *** this study,we determined which of six common hypotheses(e.g.,climate hypotheses,habitat heterogeneity hypothesis and island biogeography theory)best explain global patterns of species diversity in *** found that Rhododendron diversity patterns were most strongly explained by proxies of island biogeography theory(i.e.,mountain area)and habitat heterogeneity(i.e.,elevation range).When we examined other relationships important to island biogeography theory,we found that the planimetric area and the volume of mountains were positively correlated with the Rhododendron diversity,whereas the‘mountains-to-mainland’distance was negatively correlated with Rhododendron diversity and shared *** findings demonstrate that Rhododendron diversity can be explained by island biogeography theory and habitat heterogeneity,and mountains can be regarded as islands which supported island biogeography theory.

Efficient Preparation and Electrochemical Properties of BiOCl/Graphite by One-step Solvothermal Method

We used the surface-pretreated graphite paper(Gp)as a carrier and loaded BiOCl with high selectivity to Cl^(-)on its surface by solvothermal method to form BiOCl@Gp *** morphology,structure,and composition of the materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and nitrogen adsorption/desorption,and the results showed that the spherical BiOCl particles were uniformly dispersed on the surface of the Gp,forming a mesoporous BiOCl@Gp composite with a specific surface area of 22.82 m^(2)/g and a pore volume of 0.043 cm3/***,cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to test the electrochemical properties of the composites,and the stability of BiOCl and the high conductivity of Gp were synergistic,the BiOCl@Gp exhibited a specific capacitance of 30.2 F·g^(-1) at a current density of 0.5 A·g^(-1),and the selectivity of the BiOCl@Gp materials for Cl^(-)was significantly higher than that of SO_(4)^(2-),NO_(2)^(-),and HCO_(3)^(-).Therefore,BiOCl@Gp composite electrode materials can be used for the selective adsorption of Cl^(-)in wastewater,in order to achieve efficient wastewater recycling.
