Study of the seismic performance of expansion double spherical seismic isolation bearings for continuous girder bridges

The development of an expansion double spherical seismic isolation (dSSI) bearing by modifying the fixed dSSI bearing is described in this paper. The expansion dSSI bearing is characterized by its good energy dissipation and horizontal displacement capacity and has been successfully integrated into the seismic design of several important engineering projects in China. It is envisioned to be used as a substitute for ordinary expansion bearings in continuous girder bridges to distribute the longitudinal earthquake action among all the piers. Its development, configuration and working mechanism are introduced first. The test method and the seismic performance of an expansion dSSI bearing are then briefly described. A theoretical analysis followed by a numerical analysis for an actual four-span continuous girder bridge are provided as an example, and it is concluded that the expansion dSSI bearing can be integrated into the seismic design of continuous girder bridges.

Approximating probability distribution of circuit performance function for parametric yield estimation using transferable belief model

This paper applies the transferable belief model(TBM)interpretation of the dempster-Shafer theory of evidence to approximate distribution of circuit performance function for parametric yield *** input parameters of performance function as credal variables defned on a continuous frame of real numbers,the suggested approach constructs a random set-type evidence for these *** corresponding random set of the function output is obtained by extension principle of random *** the TBM framework,the random set of the function output in the credal state can be transformed to a pignistic state where it is represented by the pignistic cumulative *** an approximation to the actual cumulative distribution,it can be used to estimate yield according to circuit response *** advantage of the proposed method over Monte Carlo(MC)methods lies in its ability to implement just once simulation process to obtain an available approximate value of yield which has a deterministic estimation *** the same error,the new method needs less number of calculations than MC methods.A track circuit of high-speed railway and a numerical eight-dimensional quadratic function examples are included to demonstrate the efciency of this technique.

GSM for railways （GSM-r） is a wireless mobile network used for train-ground *** is one of the main faults in the routine of train *** is a procedure inherently composed of several degradation levels,which was formulated as a Hidden Markovian Chain （HMC）.In the framework of HMC,a scheme based on viterbi algorithm and absorption probability was proposed to predict occurrence time of GSM-r down *** to its static version,there was a correction mechanism based on current GSM-r quality,which modified the prediction *** effectiveness of the scheme was testified by simulations,revealing that it possesses more accuracy than its static version and the defiection is restrained in a rational level.

＜正＞In this paper we investigate the minimum-energy driving problem for high-speed electric train,and propose a three- stage optimal *** firstly introduce the switching systems model to describe the new dynamics in high-speed electric train,which considers the extended range of speed,the energy efficiency and the regenerative *** on the new model, we then study the optimal driving strategy with minimum energy consumption,and the problem boils down to optimal control for switching *** a numerical algorithm,we get a three-stage driving strategy,in which the traditional quasi-coasting stage is discarded and the maximum traction and brake are not suitable *** last,a case study on CrH is illustrated.
