Heteronuclear intermolecular single-quantum coherences in liquid nuclear magnetic resonance

This paper analyses the heteronuclear Cosy Revamped by Asymmetric Z-gradient Echo Detection pulse sequence. General theoretical expressions of the pulse sequence with arbitrary flip angles were derived by using dipolar field treatment and signals originating from heteronuclear intermolecular single-quantum coherences （iSQCs） in highly-polarized two spin-1/2 systems were mainly discussed in order to find the optimal flip angles. The results show that signals from heteronuclear iSQCs decay slower than those from intermolecular double-quantum coherences or intermolecular zero-quantum coherences. Magical angle experiments validate that the signals are from heteronuclear iSQCs and insensitive to the imperfection of radio-frequency flip angles. All experimental observations are in excellent agreement with theoretical predictions. The quantum-mechanical treatment leads to similar predictions to the dipolar field treatment.

Background：Early diagnosis assumes a vital role in an effective treatment of Alzheimer＇s disease （AD）.Most of the current studies can only make anAD diagnosis after the manifestation of typical clinical *** present study aimed to investigate typical and other biomarkers of AD to find a possible early ***：A total of 14 5XFAD mice （at 3 and 6 months old）,with 14 age-matched wild-type （WT） mice as control,were enrolled in this case-control *** water maze test was performed to evaluate the cognitive function;buried food pellet test and olfactory maze test were employed to investigate the olfactory function;immunofluorescence to detect amyloid deposition and positron emission tomography to examine 2-deoxy-2-（18F） fluoro-D-glucose （[18F]-FDG） uptake in the hippocampus and cerebral ***：With the increasing age,cognitive performance （P =0.0262） and olfactory function were significantly deteriorated （day 1 P =0.0012,day 2 P =0.0031,day 3 P =0.0160,respectively） and the （18F）-FDG uptake was markedly decreased in multi-cerebral regions including the olfactory bulb （P 〈 0.0001）,hippocampus （P =0.0121）,and cerebral cortex （P 〈 0.0001）.Of note,in 3-month-old 5XFAD mice,a significant decline of （18F）-FDG uptake in the olfactory bulb was found when compared with that of age-matched WT mice （P =0.023） while no significant difference was present when the uptakes in other cerebral regions were ***：The decline of （18F）-FDG uptake in the olfactory bulb occurs earlier than other incidents,serving as an earlier in vivo biological marker of AD in 5XFAD mice and making early diagnosis of AD possibly.

＜正＞Microphase separation behavior on the surfaces of poly（dimethylsiloxane）-block-poly （2,2,3,3,4,4,4-heptafluorobutyl methacrylate）（PDMS-b-PHFBMA） diblock copolymer coatings was *** PDMS-b-PHFBMA diblock copolymers were successfully synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization（ATRP）.The chemical structure of the copolymers was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance（NMR） and Fourier transform infrared（FTIR） *** composition was studied by X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy（XPS）.Copolymer microstructure was investigated by atomic force microscopy（AFM）.The microstructure observations show that well organized phase-separated surfaces consist of hydrophobic domain from PDMS segments and more hydrophobic domain from PHFBMA segments in the *** increase of the PHFBMA content can strengthen the microphase separation behavior in the PDMS-b-PHFBMA diblock *** the increase of the annealing temperature can also strengthen the microphase separation behavior in the PDMS-b-PHFBMA diblock ***, Flory-Huggins thermodynamic theory was preliminarily used to explain the microphase separation behavior in the PDMS-b-PHFBMA diblock copolymers.
