Long memory is an important phenomenon that arises sometimes in the analysis of time series or spatial *** of the definitions concerning the long memory of a stationary process are based on the second-order properties of the *** mutual information between the past and future I_(p−f) of a stationary process represents the information stored in the history of the process which can be used to predict the *** suggest that a stationary process can be referred to as long memory if its I_(p−f) is *** a stationary process with finite block entropy,I_(p−f) is equal to the excess entropy,which is the summation of redundancies that relate the convergence rate of the conditional(differential)entropy to the entropy *** the definitions of the I_(p−f) and the excess entropy of a stationary process require a very weak moment condition on the distribution of the process,it can be applied to processes whose distributions are without a bounded second moment.A significant property of I_(p−f) is that it is invariant under one-to-one transformation;this enables us to know the I_(p−f) of a stationary process from other *** a stationary Gaussian process,the long memory in the sense of mutual information is more strict than that in the sense of *** demonstrate that the I_(p−f) of fractional Gaussian noise is infinite if and only if the Hurst parameter is H∈(1/2,1).

ELASTIC-PLASTIC DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF A CANTILEVER BEAM SUBJECTED TO OBLIQUE IMPACT AT ITS TIP

By employing large deformation governing equations expressed in the form of finite difference, the dynamic responses of an elastic, perfectly plastic cantilever subjected to an oblique impact at its tip was numerically studied. Through analyzing the instantaneous distribution of the yield function （φ = ｜M/Mo｜＋（N/No）^2）, bending moment and axial force during the early stage of the response, the elastic-plastic deformation mechanism and the influence of axial component of an oblique impact on the dynamic response of a cantilever beam were discussed. The present analysis shows that the deformation mechanism of an elastic-plastic cantilever subjected to an oblique impact consists of four phases, i.e. ‘the expanding compressed plastic region＇ mode; the ‘generalized traveling plastic hinge＇ and ‘shrinking plastic region＇ mixed mode; the ‘stationary plastic hinge＇ mode and ‘elastic vibration＇ mode. Compared with the two-phase deformation mode obtained by using the rigid, perfectly plastic approach, the mode of shrinking plastic region that occurred instantly after the oblique impact and the mode of stationary hinge were both confirmed. The primary features of the deformation mechanism are captured by both analysis methods. It has also been found that the beam＇s deformation is mainly controlled by the axial component of the oblique impact in the early phase of the dynamic response, the deformation mechanism is obviously different from the case of a transverse impact. With further development of the response, the axial component attenuates rapidly and gives negligible contribution to the yielding of the beam cross-section. At the same time, the bending moments along the cantilever develop gradually and dominate the beam＇s deformation. The numerical results indicate that the mass, impact speed and oblique angle are the important factors that influence the elastic-plastic dynamic response of a cantilever beam.

Fabrication and properties of Al matrix composites strengthened by in situ alumina particulates

New aluminum matrix composites strengthened by Al2O3 particulates through stirring cast by adding NH4Al（SO4）2 to the molten aluminum have been fabricated. TEM observation shows that in-situ Al2O3 particulates are generally spherical and they are uniformly distributed in the Al matrix. Dry sliding wear test results show that the volume loss of the unreinforced Al matrix is about three times that of the Al2O3 reinforced metal matrix composite （MMC） and the volume loss of the MMC fabricated by adding Al2O3 is larger than that of the MMC by adding NH4Al（SO4）2. Lubricating sliding wear test results show that the volume loss of the MMCs increases more slowly than that of the matrix with the increasing of the load.

Parkinson’s disease(PD),a neurodegenerative disease that shows a high incidence in older individuals,is becoming increasingly ***,there is no clinical cure for PD,and novel anti-PD drugs are therefore urgently ***,the selective permeability of the blood–brain barrier(BBB)poses a huge challenge in the development of such ***,through strategies based on the physiological characteristics of the BBB and other modifications,including enhancement of BBB permeability,nanotechnology can offer a solution to this problem and facilitate drug delivery across the *** nanomaterials are often used as carriers for PD treatment,their biological activity is *** studies in recent years have shown that nanomaterials can improve PD symptoms via their own nano-bio *** this review,we first summarize the physiological features of the BBB and then discuss the design of appropriate brain-targeted delivery nanoplatforms for PD ***,we highlight the emerging strategies for crossing the BBB and the development of novel nanomaterials with anti-PD nano-biological ***,we discuss the current challenges in nanomaterial-based PD treatment and the future trends in this *** review emphasizes the clinical value of nanotechnology in PD treatment based on recent patents and could guide researchers working in this area in the future.

Mensuration of microstructure multi-fractal spectra of calcined limestone particle surfaces

The microstructure of the surface of a calcined limestone particle is multi-fractal. We develop an analytic method that surveys the boundary curve multi-fractal dimensions with SEM, gets a three-dimensional surface structure α α） curve via zero-sets, and finally calculates the multi-fractal spectrum values of the particle surface＇s microstructural topography. After analyzing two spectra from limestone particles calcined at 850℃ and 900℃, it was shown that the microstructural topographies of the surfaces of calcined limestone multi-particle system have some degree of self-similarity. This mensuration method is proposed to describe the multi-fractal characteristics of a micro-scale particle＇s surface topography.

A biparental soybean population of 364 recombinant inbred lines(RILs)derived from Zhongdou 41×ZYD02.878 was used to identify quantitative trait loci(QTL)associated with hundred-seed weight(100-SW),pod length(PL),and pod width(PW).100-SW,PL,and PW showed moderate correlations among one another,and 100-SW was correlated most strongly with PW(0.64–0.74).Respectively 74,70,75 and19 QTL accounting for 38.7%–78.8%of total phenotypic variance were identified by inclusive composite interval mapping,restricted two-stage multi-locus genome-wide association analysis,3 variancecomponent multi-locus random-SNP-effect mixed linear model analysis,and conditional genome-wide association *** these QTL,189 were novel,and 24 were detected by multiple *** loci were associated with 100-SW,PL,and PW and may be pleiotropic loci.A total of 284 candidate genes were identified in colocalizing QTL regions,including the verified gene Seed thickness 1(ST1).Eleven genes with functions involved in pectin biosynthesis,phytohormone,ubiquitin-protein,and photosynthesis pathways were prioritized by examining single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)variation,calculating genetic differentiation index,and inquiring gene *** prediction accuracies of genomic selection(GS)for 100-SW,PL,and PW based on single trait-associated markers reached 0.82,0.76,and 0.86 respectively,but selection index(SI)-assisted GS strategy did not increase GS efficiency and inclusion of trait-associated markers as fixed effects reduced prediction *** results shed light on the genetic basis of 100-SW,PL,and PW and provide GS models for these traits with potential application in breeding programs.

A novel extended Kalman filter for a class of nonlinear systems

Estimation of the state variables of nonlinear systems is one of the fundamental and significant problems in control and signal processing. A new extended Kalman filtering approach for a class of nonlinear discrete-time systems in engineering is presented in this paper. In contrast to the celebrated extended Kalman filter (EKF), there is no linearization operation in the design procedure of the filter, and the parameters of the filter are obtained through minimizing a proper upper bound of the mean-square estimation error. Simulation results show that this filter can provide higher estimation precision than that provided by the EKF.

Alleviating experimental pulmonary hypertension via co-delivering FoxO1 stimulus and apoptosis activator to hyperproliferating pulmonary arteries

Pulmonary hypertension(PH)is an insidious pulmonary vasculopathy with high mortality and morbidity and its underlying pathogenesis is still poorly *** hyperproliferation and apoptosis resistance of pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells(PASMCs)contributes to pulmonary vascular remodeling in pulmonary hypertension,which is closely linked to the downregulation of forkhead box transcriptional factor O1(FoxO1)and apoptotic protein caspase 3(Cas-3).Here,PA-targeted co-delivery of a FoxO1 stimulus(paclitaxel,PTX)and Cas-3 was exploited to alleviate monocrotaline-induced pulmonary *** co-delivery system is prepared by loading the active protein on paclitaxel-crystal nanoparticles,followed by a glucuronic acid coating to target the glucose transporter-1 on the *** co-loaded system(170 nm)circulates in the blood over time,accumulates in the lung,effectively targets the PAs,and profoundly regresses the remodeling of pulmonary arteries and improves hemodynamics,leading to a decrease in pulmonary arterial pressure and Fulton's *** mechanistic studies suggest that the targeted co-delivery system alleviates experimental pulmonary hypertension primarily via the regression of PASMC proliferation by inhibiting cell cycle progression and promoting *** together,this targeted co-delivery approach offers a promising avenue to target PAs and cure the intractable vasculopathy in pulmonary hypertension.

Although several theoretical calculation methods for high-pressure jet are available,there is currently no theoretical model for the high-pressure CO_(2)jet based on the high-precision equation of state(EOS).To investigate the flow field of the high-pressure CO_(2)jet in cases of the composite rock-breaking under the high-pressure CO_(2)Jet and PDC cutter,a semi-analytical approach of the high-pressure CO_(2)jet is developed based on the Span-Wagner EOS and CO_(2)jet *** semi-analytical calculations and the physical property calculations under the action of the high-pressure CO_(2)jet are conducted with consideration of the jet pressure,the jet distance,the nozzle diameter and the jet *** results indicate that the distribution of the physical properties calculated by the semi-analytical approaches is similar to that obtained by experimental monitoring and numerical simulation,which indicates that the calculation method of the high-pressure CO_(2)jet presented in this paper is effective and *** properties of the CO_(2)jet obtained by the theoretical calculation see a significant difference between the initial region and the jet impact *** the temperature of 300 K,the increase of the initial pressure can effectively increase the impact force and the cooling ability of the *** proportion of the jet core lengths in the jet on the axis increases with the increase of the ratio of the nozzle diameter to the jet length,accompanied with the increase of the impact force of the *** increase of the jet angle can effectively increase the impacting force of the jet,but hampers the fluid *** study combines the theoretical calculation of the jet with the calculation of the physical properties of the high-pressure CO_(2),for comprehensively understanding the CO_(2)jet field in the composite rock-breaking under the action of the high-pressure CO_(2)jet and PDC *** theoretical calculation of the CO_(2)jet based on the high-precisio
