In this paper,an optical pulse amplitude modulation with 4 levels(PAM-4)using a fiber combiner is proposed to enhance the data rate of a field-programmable gate-array-based long-distance real-time underwater wireless optical communication *** on-off keying signals with different amplitudes are used to modulate two pigtailed laser diodes,respectively,and the generated optical signals are superimposed into optical PAM-4 signals by a fiber *** optical PAM-4scheme can effectively alleviate the nonlinearity,although it reduces the peak-to-peak value of the emitting optical power by 25%.A real-time data rate of 187.5 Mbit/s is achieved by using the optical PAM-4 with a transmission distance of 50 *** data rate is increased by about 25%compared with the conventional electrical PAM-4 in the same condition.

The East China Sea(ECS)boasts a vast continental shelf,where strong tidal motions play an important role in the substance transport and energy *** this study,the tide-induced mixing in the bottom boundary layer in the western ECS is analyzed based on records measured by moored acoustic Doppler current profilers from June to October *** show that the M_(2) tide is strong and shows a barotropic feature,whereas the O_(1) tide is much *** on the M_(2) tidal currents,the eddy viscosity in the bottom Ekman boundary layer is estimated with three *** estimated eddy viscosity values vary within 10^(-4)–10^(-2)m^(2) s^(−1),reaching a maximum at approximately 5 m height from the bottom and decreasing exponentially with the height at all three ***,the shear production of turbulent kinetic energy is calculated to quantify the mixing induced by different tidal *** results show that the shear production of the M_(2) tide is much stronger than that of the O_(1) tide and shows a bottom intensified feature.

An irradiance profile measurement approach and profiling system were developed to measure the solar irradiance profile of the Arctic sea ice using fiber optic *** approach involved using a miniature spectrometer to sense light signals collected and transmitted from a fiber *** fiber probe was small,and could thus move freely in inclined bore holes drilled in sea ice with its optical entrance pointing *** input-output relationship of the system was analyzed and *** factors that determined the system output were analyzed.A correctional system output approach was proposed to correct the influence of these factors,and to obtain the solar irradiance profile based on the measurements outputted by this *** overall performance of the system was examined in two ice floes in the Arctic during the 9th Chinese National Arctic Research *** measured solar irradiance profiles were in good agreement with those obtained using other commercially available oceanographic *** derived apparent optical properties of sea ice were comparable to those of similar sea ice measured by other optical instruments.

目的:塑料排水板能够有效加速固结过程,因此被广泛应用于软土地基处理。然而,相关规范只给出了塑料排水板的间距和长度的取值范围,没有给出最优设计。本文旨在通过考虑土体参数不确定性、施工造价和设计要求三个方面,提出塑料排水板的最优设计。创新点:1.通过蒙特卡罗方法求解固结度的信噪比,得到不同设计的鲁棒性;2.讨论各种因素对最优设计的影响。方法:1.通过理论分析,推导出总固结度鲁棒性的计算公式;2.通过定义不同设计组合,讨论不同噪声参数,并运用蒙特卡罗模拟,得到满足要求的所有设计情况的鲁棒性;3.分析其他因素(如固结时间和固结度等)对最优设计的影响,并讨论参数变异性和相关性对结果的影响。结论:1.基于鲁棒性分析,得到了塑料排水板的最优设计方法。2.在低造价条件下,固结度、固结时间和塑料排水板布置形式对最优设计存在影响;当造价足够高时,该影响可以忽略。3.参数变异性和相关性对结果存在影响;如果低估了参数的变异性,会低估最优设计的造价。

A facile fabrication route for binary transition metal oxide-based Janus nanoparticles for cancer theranostic applications

Janus nanoparticles （JNPs） have multiple configurations for molecular imaging, targeting, and therapeutic effects on cancers; these properties have made these particles attractive for biomedical applications. Nonetheless, smart strategies for the controlled synthesis in a liquid phase and exploration of the appropriate applications of JNPs remain a challenge. In this study, a unique liquid-phase method was applied to fabricate Mn3O4-TiO2/ZnO/Fe3O4 multifunctional binary transition metal oxide-based JNPs, using the concept of epitaxial growth and lattice mismatch among synthesized materials. Transmission electron microscopy and scanning transmission electron microscopy results revealed that the created materials are embedded in the form of dimers with good dispersion and homogeneous growth in a nonpolar solvent. Pluronic F-127-coated MnBO4- TiO2 JNPs were utilized as a contrast agent in T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） and in photodynamic therapy （PDT） for cancers in vitro and in vivo. In vivo T1-weighted MRI of the heart, liver, and kidneys in mice after intravenous injection of the nanoparticles revealed high sensitivity and biocompatibility of as-synthesized Mn3O4--TiO2 JNPs. Results of synchrotron X-ray fluorescence microscopy mapping showed the stability of the nanocomposites and efficiency of penetration into the cytoplasm and perinuclear area. Inorganic TiO2 photosensitizers showed promising tumor ablation performance in PDT in vitro and in vivo at low intensity of UV irradiation （5.6 ***-2） because of their ultrasmall size and photodegradable stability. These results reveal that multifunctional Mn3O4-TiO2 JNPs enhance a T1-weighted MRI contrast and have excellent properties for PDT and therefore, may be a novel agent for cancer theranostics.
