Examining the characteristics between time and distance gaps of secondary crashes

Understanding the characteristics of time and distance gaps between the primary(PC)and secondary crashes(SC)is crucial for preventing SC ccurrences and improving road *** previous studies have tried to analyse the variation of gaps,there is limited evidence in quantifying the relationships between different gaps and various influential *** study proposed a two-layer stacking framework to discuss the time and distance ***,the framework took random forests(RF),gradient boosting decision tree(GBDT)and eXtreme gradient boosting as the base classifiers in the first layer and applied logistic regression(LR)as a combiner in the second *** this basis,the local interpretable model-agnostic explanations(LIME)technology was used to interpret the output of the stacking model from both local and global *** SC dentification and feature selection,346 SCs and 22 crash-related factors were collected from California interstate *** results showed that the stacking model outperformed base models evaluated by accuracy,precision,and recall *** explanations based on LIME suggest that collision type,distance,speed and volume are the critical features that affect the time and distance *** volume can prolong queue length and increase the distance gap from the SCs to *** collision types,peak periods,workday,truck involved and tow away likely induce a long-distance ***,there is a shorter distance gap when secondary roads run in the same direction and are close to the primary *** speed is a significant factor resulting in a long-time gap,while the higher speed is correlated with a short-time *** results are expected to provide insights into how contributory features affect the time and distance gaps and help decision-makers develop accurate decisions to prevent SCs.

The use of gas diffusion electrode(GDE)based flow cell can realize industrial-scale CO_(2) reduction reactions(CO_(2)RRs).Controlling local CO_(2) and CO intermediate diffusion plays a key role in CO_(2)RR toward multi-carbon(C_(2+))*** this work,local CO_(2) and CO intermediate diffusion through the catalyst layer(CL)was investigated for improving CO_(2)RR toward C_(2+)*** gas permeability tests and finite element simulation results indicated CL can balance the CO_(2) gas diffusion and residence time of the CO intermediate,leading to a sufficient CO concentration with a suitable CO_(2)/H_(2)O supply for high C_(2+)*** a result,an excellent selectivity of C_(2+)products~79%at a high current density of 400 mA·cm^(-2) could be obtained on the optimal 500 nm Cu CL(Cu500).This work provides a new insight into the optimization of CO_(2)/H_(2)O supply and local CO concentration by controlling CL for C_(2+)products in CO_(2)RR flow cell.

Support design method for deep soft-rock tunnels in non-hydrostatic high in-situ stress field

Due to the long-term plate tectonic movements in southwestern China,the in-situ stress field in deep formations is *** passing through deep soft-rock mass under non-hydrostatic high in-situ stress field,tunnels will suffer serious asymmetric *** is no available support design method for tunnels under such a situation in existing studies to clarify the support time and support *** study first analyzed the mechanical behavior of tunnels in non-hydrostatic in-situ stress field and derived the theoretical equations of the ground squeezing curve(GSC)and ground loosening curve(GLC).Then,based on the convergence confinement theory,the support design method of deep soft-rock tunnels under non-hydrostatic high in-situ stress field was established considering both squeezing and loosening *** addition,this method can provide the clear support time and support stiffness of the second layer of initial *** proposed design method was applied to the Wanhe tunnel of the China-Laos railway in *** data indicated that the optimal support scheme had a good effect on controlling the tunnel deformation in non-hydrostatic high in-situ stress *** applications showed that the secondary lining could be constructed properly.

Effect of Al_(2)O_(3)fiber on twin intersections-induced dynamic recrystallization in fine-grained TiAl matrix composite

Dynamic recrystallization(DRX)is of great significance for the thermomechanical processing and microstructural regulation of TiAl ***,the underlying DRX mechanism remains poorly *** this study,an Avrami kinetics model for DRX was established,which was capable of predicting the DRX fraction *** addition,the effect of Al_(2)O_(3)short fiber on the DRX mechanisms of TiAl matrix composite during the isothermal compression was investigated for the first *** re-sults showed that other than inhibiting DRX by particles in the TiAl matrix composites,the addition of Al_(2)O_(3)short fiber accelerated a novel DRX process,which was induced by twinning and twin intersec-tions(TDRX).Thus,this composite exhibited a higher DRX rate than that of the as-cast TiAl monolithic *** origin of the twin intersection and TDRX for the composite was *** stress concentration near the Al_(2)O_(3)fiber was above the critical shear stress for twinning and thus was favorable for the formation of twinning and twin *** high stored strain energy at the regions of twins and twin intersections provided the driving force for *** accelerated the grain refinement in the TiAl matrix near the Al_(2)O_(3)*** present findings would provide a new perspective on DRX mechanisms,and provide the scientific guidance for optimizing the microstructures of TiAl matrix composites.

Thin paints for durable and scalable radiative cooling

Passive daytime radiative cooling(PDRC) is environment-friendly without energy input by enhancing the coating's solar reflectance(R_(solar)) and thermal emittance(ε_(LWIR)) in the atmosphere's long-wave infrared transmission ***,high R_(solar) is usually achieved by increasing the coating's thickness,which not only increases materials' cost but also impairs heat ***,the desired high R_(solar) is vulnerable to dust pollution in the *** this work,a thin paint was designed by mixing hBN plates,PFOTS,and IPA. R_(solar)=0.963 and ε_(LWIR)=0.927 was achieved at a thickness of 150 μm due to the high backscattering ability of scatters.A high through-plane thermal conductivity(~1.82 W m^(-1) K^(-1)) also can be *** addition,the porous structure coupled with the binder PFOTS resulted in a contact angle of 154°,demonstrating excellent durability under dust *** experiments showed that the thin paint can obtain a 2.3℃ lower temperature for sub-ambient cooling than the reference PDRC coating in the ***,the above-ambient heat dissipation performance can be enhanced by spraying the thin paint on a 3D heat sink,which was 15.7℃ lower than the reference 1D structure,demonstrating excellent performance for durable and scalable PDRC applications.

Dual-Confined Bead-Like CoSe_(2)@NC@NCNFs Bifunctional Catalyst Boosting Rechargeable Zinc-Air Batteries

Rationally developing efficient and durable bifunctional catalysts toward oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is critical for rechargeable zinc-air batteries(ZABs).Herein,a bead-like CoSe_(2)@NC@NCNFs bifunctional catalyst was designed and fabricated by confining cubic CoSe_(2)nanoparticles to three-dimensional(3D)porous MOFs-derived nitrogen-doped carbon(NC)and one-dimensional(1D)N-doped carbon nanofibers(NCNFs)through a facile encapsulate *** 1D/3D continuous network structure contributes to the improvement of specific surface area and electronic conductivity,while the strong synergistic effect between CoSe_(2)sites and Co-Nx-C sites can effectively enhance electron/mass transfer and reduce the diffusion *** as-constructed CoSe_(2)@NC@NCNFs catalyst exhibits high catalytic activity and stability toward ORR/OER with a high half-wave potential of 0.80 V(***)in ORR and a low overpotential of 280 mV at 10 mA·cm^(−2)in *** encouragingly,the rechargeable ZABs with CoSe_(2)@NC@NCNFs cathode deliver high peak power densities(126.8 mW·cm^(−2)),large specific capacities(763.1 mA·h·g^(−1)),and robust charge-discharge cycling stability over 240 *** study provides a facile strategy for designing efficient bifunctional catalysts for rechargeable energy conversion applications.

Assay of Biomarkers for Alzheimer's Disease by Surface Plasmon Resonance

Alzheimer's disease(AD) is one of the neurodegenerative diseases characterized by cognitive dysfunction and behavioral impairment. Early diagnosis of AD serves as a viable means to avoid the onset and progression of the disease. Due to the remarkably lower expression levels of AD biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluids and serum samples, sensitive and specific analytical methods are highly demanded. Surface plasmon resonance(SPR) is ultrasensitive to the refractive index or thickness change at the metal surface, which enables real-time and label-free assay of target biomolecules. In this review, we summarize the advances on assay of AD biomarkers including amyloid beta, tau protein, apoE proteins and apoE genes, and BACE1 by SPR, with emphasis on the analytical performances concerning anti-fouling and signal amplification strategies and real sample applications.

Effect of integration of mechanical ball milling and flue gas desulfurization gypsum on dealkalization of bauxite residue

The synergistic impact of mechanical ball milling and flue gas desulfurization(FGD)gypsum on the dealkalization of bauxite residue was investigated through integrated analyses of solution chemistry,mineralogy,and *** results showed a significant decrease in Na_(2)O content(>30 wt.%)of FGD gypsum-treated bauxite residue after 30 min of mechanical ball *** ball milling resulted in differentiation of the elemental distribution,modification of the minerals in crystalline structure,and promotion in the dissolution of alkaline minerals,thus enhancing the acid neutralization capacity of bauxite residue.5 wt.%FGD gypsum combined with 30 min mechanical ball milling was optimal for the dealkalization of bauxite residue.

Analytic optimal pose tracking control in close-range proximity operations with a non-cooperative target

This paper investigates an analytical optimal pose tracking control problem for chaser spacecraft during the close-range proximity operations with a non-cooperative space target subject to attitude tumbling and unknown orbital ***,the relative translational motion between the orbital target and the chaser spacecraft is described in the Line-of-Sight(LOS)coordinate frame along with attitude quaternion ***,based on the coupled 6-Degree of Freedom(DOF)pose dynamic model,an analytical optimal control action consisting of constrained optimal control value,application time and its duration are proposed via exploring the iterative sequential action control ***,the global closed-loop asymptotic stability of the proposed predictive control action is presented and *** with traditional proximity control schemes,the highlighting advantages are that the application time and duration of the devised controller is applied discretely in light of the influence of the instantaneous pose configuration on the pose tracking performance with less energy consumptions rather than at each sample ***,three groups of illustrative examples are organized to validate the effectiveness of the proposed analytical optimal pose tracking control scheme.
