Based on a theoretical model of Q-switched laser with the influences of the driving signal sent to the Pockels cell and the doping concentration of the gain medium taken into account,a method of achieving high energy sub-nanosecond Q-switched lasers is proposed and verified in *** a Nd:YVO4 crystal with a doping concentration of 0.7 at.%is used as a gain medium and a driving signal with the optimal high-level voltage is applied to the Pockels cell,a stable single-transverse-mode electro-optical Q-switched laser with a pulse width of 0.77 ns and a pulse energy of 1.04 mJ operating at the pulse repetition frequency of 1 kHz is *** precise tuning of the pulse width is also demonstrated.

Alzheimer＇s disease （AD） is the most common form of dementia among the elderly, characterized by amyloid plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, and neuroinflam- mation in the brain, as well as impaired cognitive behaviors. A sex difference in the prevalence of AD has been noted, while sex differences in the cerebral pathology and relevant molecular mechanisms are not well clarified. In the present study, we systematically investigated the sex differences in pathological characteristics and cognitive behavior in 12-month-old male and female APP/PSI/tau triple-trans- genic AD mice （3xTg-AD mice） and examined the molecular mechanisms. We found that female 3×Tg-AD mice displayed more prominent amyloid plaques, neurofib- rillary tangles, neuroinflammation, and spatial cognitive deficits than male 3×Tg-AD mice. Furthermore, the expres- sion levels of hippocampal protein kinase A-cAMP response element-binding protein （PKA-CREB） and p38- mitogen-activated protein kinases （MAPK） also showed sex difference in the AD mice, with a significant increase in the levels of p-PKA/p-CREB and a decrease in the p-p38 in female, but not male, 3×Tg-AD mice. We suggest that an estrogen deficiency-induced PKA-CREB-MAPK signaling disorder in 12-month-old female 3×Tg-AD mice might be involved in the serious pathological and cognitive damage in these mice. Therefore, sex differences should be taken into account in investigating AD biomarkers and related target molecules, and estrogen supplementation or PKA-CREB- MAPK stabilization could be beneficial in relieving the pathological damage in AD and improving the cognitive behavior of reproductively-senescent females.

Implementing quantum communication between space-separated local networks is essential for designing global quantum networks. In this study, we propose quantum teleportation and remote state preparation schemes between users of two space-separated local networks established by continuous-variable multipartite entangled states. In the proposed schemes, the quantum nodes belonging to the two distant local networks are first entangled by entanglement swapping, and then quantum communication protocols are realized. We show that quantum teleportation between any two users belonging to space-separated local networks can be realized with the assistance of other users, and squeezed thermal states can be remotely prepared in one local network by performing a homodyne projective measurement on the state in another distant local network. Our results provide a feasible approach for quantum communication between spaceseparated quantum networks with multipartite entangled states.

In order to suppress the low-frequency ultrasound vibration in the broadband range of 20 k Hz—100 k Hz,this paper proposes and discusses an acoustic metamaterial with low-frequency ultrasound vibration attenuation properties,which is configured by hybrid arc and sharp-angle convergent star-shaped *** effect of the dispersion relation and the bandgap characteristic for the scatterers in star-shaped are simulated and *** target bandgap width is extended by optimizing the geometry parameters of arc and sharp-angle convergent *** proposed metamaterial configured by optimized hybrid lattices exhibits remarkable broad bandgap characteristics by bandgap complementarity,and the simulation results verify a 99%vibration attenuation amplitude can be obtained in the frequency of20 k Hz—100 k *** the fabrication of the proposed hybrid configurational star-shaped metamaterial by 3D printing technique,the transmission loss experiments are performed,and the experimental results indicate that the fabricated metamaterial has the characteristics of broadband vibration attenuation and an amplitude greater than 85%attenuation for the target *** results demonstrate that the hybrid configurational star-shaped metamaterials can effectively widen the bandgap and realize high efficiency attenuation,which has capability for the vibration attenuation in the application of highprecise equipment.

A theoretical model of quasi-three-level laser system is developed, in which both the thermally induced depolarization loss and the effect of energy-transfer upconversion are taken into account. Based on the theoretical investigation of the influences of output transmission and incident pump power on thermally induced depolarization loss, the output performance of 946 nm linearly polarized Nd：YAG laser is experimentally studied. By optimizing the transmission of output coupler, a 946 nm linearly polarized continuous-wave single-transverse-mode laser with an output power of 4.2 W and an optical-optical conversion efficiency of 16.8% is obtained, and the measured beam quality factors are M2 = 1.13 and My2 = 1.21. The theoretical prediction is in good agreement with the experimental result.

Rapidity-dependent transverse momentum spectra of negatively charged pions measured at different rapidities in proton-proton collisions at the Super Proton Synchrotron （SPS） at various energies within its Beam Energy Scan （BES） program are investigated by using one- and two-component standard distributions where the chemical potential and spin property of particles are implemented. The rapidity spectra are described by a double- Gaussian distribution. At the stage of kinetic freeze-out, the event patterns are structured by the scatter plots in the three-dimensional subspaces of velocity, momentum and rapidity. The results of the studies of the rapidityindependent transverse mass spectra measured at mid-rapidity in proton-proton collisions are compared with those based on the similar transverse mass spectra measured in the most central beryllium-beryllium, argon-scandium and lead-lead collisions from the SPS at its BES energies.

The kinetic freeze-out temperatures, T_0, in nucleus–nucleus collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider(RHIC) and Large Hadron Collider(LHC) energies are extracted by four methods:(1) the Blast-Wave model with Boltzmann–Gibbs statistics(the BGBW model),(2) the Blast-Wave model with Tsallis statistics(the TBW model),(3) the Tsallis distribution with flow effect(the improved Tsallis distribution), and(4) the intercept in T=T_0+ am_0(the alternative method), where m_0 denotes the rest mass and T denotes the effective temperature which can be obtained by different distribution functions. It is found that the relative sizes of T_0 in central and peripheral collisions obtained by the conventional BGBW model which uses a zero or nearly zero transverse flow velocity, β_T, are contradictory in tendency with other methods. With a re-examination for β_Tin the first method,in which β_Tis taken to be ～ (0:40 ± 0:07)c, a recalculation presents a consistent result with others. Finally, our results show that the kinetic freeze-out temperature in central collisions is larger than that in peripheral collisions.
