Enabling efficient NIR-II luminescence in lithium-sublattice core–shell nanocrystals towards Stark sublevel based nanothermometry

The luminescence in the second near-infrared(NIR-II)spectral region(1,000–1,700 nm)has recently attracted great attention for emerging biological applications owing to its merit of deep tissue bioimaging and high spatiotemporal ***,it still remains a challenge to achieve the highly efficient NIR-II emissions of lanthanides in ***,we report an ideal design of sensitizing lithium sublattice core–shell nanocrystals for efficient NIR-II emission properties from a set of lanthanide emitters including Er3+,Tm3+,Ho3+,Pr3+,and Nd3+.In particular,the typical NIR-II emission of Er3+at 1.5μm was greatly enhanced by further manipulating the energy transfer via Er3+–Ce3+cross-relaxation,and the quantum yield can reach up to 35.74%under 980 nm excitation(12.5 W·cm−2),which is the highest value to the best of our *** 808 nm responsive efficient NIR-II emission was also enabled at the single-particle level through rational core–shell–shell structure ***,the lithium-sublattice provides an obvious spectral Stark-splitting feature,which can be used in the ultrasensitive NIR-II nanothermometer with relative sensitivity of 0.248%K−1 and excellent thermal cycling *** results open a door to the research of new kinds of efficient NIR-II luminescent materials,showing great promise in various frontier fields such as deep tissue nanothermometry and in vivo bioimaging.

Achieving robustness to temperature change of a NIR model for apple soluble solids content

The temperature difference of fruit itself will affect its near infrared spectrum and the accuracy of its soluble solids content(SSC)prediction *** eliminate the influence of apple temperature difference on the SSC model,a diffuse transmission dynamic online detection device was used to collect the spectral data of apples at different temperatures,and four methods were used to establish partial least squares correction models:global correction,orthogonal signal processing,generalized least squares weighting and external parameter orthogonal(EPO).The results show that the temperature has a strong influence on the diffuse transmission spectrum of *** 20ºC model can get a satisfactory prediction result when the temperature is constant,and there will be great errors when detecting samples at other *** effect of temperature must be corrected to establish a more general *** methods all improve the accuracy of the model,with the EPO method giving the best results;the prediction set correlation coefficient is 0.947,the root mean square error of prediction is 0.489%,and the prediction bias is 0.009%.The research results are of great significance to the practical application of SSC prediction of fruits in sorting workshops or orchards.

Rare earth recovery from fluoride molten-salt electrolytic slag by sodium carbonate roasting-hydrochloric acid leaching

Fluorinated rare earth molten-salt electrolytic slag contains a considerable amount of rare earth elements,as well as a variety of heavy metals and fluorides that cause environmental ***,it is of great importance to fully utilise this *** this study,the transformation mechanism of fluorinated rare earth molten-salt electrolytic slag roasted with sodium carbonate,and the regulation mechanism of rare earth leaching under different roasting conditions were investigated with the help of thermodynamic calculation of the reactions and kinetic *** thermodynamic and differential thermal thermogravimetric(DTA-TG)analysis shows that the transformation of rare earth fluoride to rare earth oxide is promoted at elevated ***,the leaching experimental results show that increasing the temperature,time,hydrochloric acid concentration,and liquid-solid ratio can effectively promote the recovery of rare *** optimum experimental conditions are a roasting temperature of 700℃,roasting time of 2 h,and sodium carbonate to molten salt electrolytic slag mass ratio of 0.6,followed by leaching at 80℃with a liquid-solid ratio of 10:1 by adding 3 moI/L hydrochlo ric acid with stirring for 2 *** these conditions,the rare earths in the molten salt electrolytic slag are biologically transformed at a lower temperature and the leaching efficiency of rare earths exceeds 98%.

5-Hydroxytryptamine:a potential therapeutic target in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

Previous studies have indicated that the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS) is closely linked to 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT).To investigate this further,we administered 5-HT receptor antagonists to SOD1*G93A transgenic(ALS mouse model) and wide-type *** involved intraperitoneal injections of either granisetron,piboserod,or ritanserin,which inhibit the 5-HT3,5-HT4,and 5-HT2 receptors,*** transgenic mice were found to have fewer5-HT-positive cells in the spinal cord compared with wide-type *** found that the administration of granisetron reduced the body weight of the transgenic mice,while piboserod and ritanserin worsened the motor functioning,as assessed using a hanging wire ***,none of the 5-HT receptor antagonists affected the disease *** analyzed the distribution and/or expression of TAR DNA binding protein 43(TDP-43) and superoxide dismutase 1 G93A(SOD1-G93A),which fo rm abnormal aggregates in *** found that the expression of these proteins increased following the administration of all three 5-HT receptor *** addition,the disease-related mislocalization of TD P-43 to the cytoplasm increased markedly for all three *** ce rtain anatomical regions,the 5-HT receptor antagonists also led to a marked increase in the number of astrocytes and microglia and a decrease in the number of *** results indicate that 5-HT deficiency may play a role in the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis by inducing the abnormal expression and/or distribution of TDP-43 and SOD1-G93A and by activating glial cells.5-HT co uld therefore be a potential therapeutic target for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

CC@BCN@PANI core-shell nanoarrays as ultra-high cycle stability cathode for Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors

Exploring cathode materials that combine excellent cycling stability and high energy density poses a challenge to aqueous Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors(ZHSCs).Herein,polyaniline(PANI)coated boron-carbon-nitrogen(BCN)nanoarray on carbon cloth surface is prepared as advanced cathode materials via simple high-temperature calcination and electrochemical deposition *** of the excellent specific capacity and conductivity of PANI,the CC@BCN@PANI core-shell nanoarrays cathode shows an excellent ion storage ***,the 3D nanoarray structure can provide enough space for the volume expansion and contraction of PANI in the charging/discharging cycles,which effectively avoids the collapse of the microstructure and greatly improves the electrochemical stability of ***,the CC@BCN@PANI-based ZHSCs exhibit superior electrochemical performances showing a specific capacity of 145.8 mAh/g,a high energy density of 116.78 Wh/kg,an excellent power density of 12 kW/kg,and a capacity retention rate of 86.2%after 8000 charge/discharge cycles at a current density of 2 A/*** addition,the flexible ZHSCs(FZHSCs)also show a capacity retention rate of 87.7%at the current density of 2 A/g after 450 cycles.
