Distributed and Risk-averse ADP Algorithm for Stochastic Economic Dispatch of Power System with Multiple Offshore Wind Farms

With more and more offshore wind power being increasingly connected to power grids,fluctuations in offshore wind speeds result in risks of high operation *** mitigate this problem,a risk-averse stochastic economic dispatch(ED)model of power system with multiple offshore wind farms(OWFs)is proposed in this *** this model,a novel GlueVaR method is used to measure the tail risk of the probability distribution of operation *** weighted sum of the expected operation cost and the GlueVaR is used to reflect the risk of operation cost,which can consider different risk requirements including risk aversion and risk neutrality flexibly by adjusting ***,a risk-averse approximate dynamic programming(ADP)algorithm is designed for solving the proposed model,in which multi-period ED problem is decoupled into a series of single-period ED ***,GlueVaR is introduced into the approximate value function training process for risk ***,a distributed and risk-averse ADP algorithm is constructed based on the alternating direction method of multipliers,which can further decouple single-period ED between transmission system and multiple OWFs for ensuring information *** studies on the modified IEEE 39-bus system with an OWF and an actual provincial power system with four OWFs demonstrate correctness and efficiency of the proposed model and algorithm.

Polyethylene is the type of waste plastic that accounts for the most significant proportion of municipal solid *** polyethylene can be valorized via pyrolysis and produce value-added oil,gas,and *** the other hand,self-sustaining smoldering is an emerging technical means to deal with sand/soil contaminated by organic *** high-temperature heat generated by smoldering can be used as a heat source for pyrolyzing waste ***,this study investigates numerically the pyrolysis of waste polyethylene driven by self-sustaining smoldering.A novel 4-step lumped kinetic model is proposed for simulating the pyrolysis of waste *** results indicate that the operating parameters can determine the pyrolysis product yields by regulating the pyrolysis temperature and the volatile residence *** that higher temperatures and longer residence times favor the generation of shorter-chain pyrolysis products because of the intensified volatiles’secondary *** can be concluded that a high interface-wall heat transfer coefficient(400 W m^(-2)K^(-1)),a low PE content(0.20),a high char concentration(2.4%),and a moderate air velocity(0.040 m s^(-1))are beneficial to oil *** some extent,this study may broaden the boundaries for the application of self-sustained smoldering-driven pyrolysis.

We conduct an experimental study supported by theoretical analysis of single laser ablating copper to investigate the interactions between laser and material at different sample temperatures,and predict the changes of ablation morphology and lattice *** investigating the effect of sample temperature on femtosecond laser processing,we conduct experiments on and simulate the thermal behavior of femtosecond laser irradiating copper by using a two-temperature *** simulation results show that both electron peak temperature and the relaxation time needed to reach equilibrium increase as initial sample temperature *** the sample temperature rises from 300 K to 600 K,the maximum lattice temperature of the copper surface increases by about 6500 K under femtosecond laser irradiation,and the ablation depth increases by 20%.The simulated ablation depths follow the same general trend as the experimental *** work provides some theoretical basis and technical support for developing femtosecond laser processing in the field of metal materials.

Recently, a class of innovative notions on quantum network nonlocality(QNN), called full quantum network nonlocality(FQNN), have been proposed in Phys. Rev. Lett. 128 010403(2022). As the generalization of full network nonlocality(FNN), l-level quantum network nonlocality(l-QNN) was defined in arxiv. 2306.15717 quant-ph(2024). FQNN is a NN that can be generated only from a network with all sources being non-classical. This is beyond the existing standard network nonlocality, which may be generated from a network with only a non-classical source. One of the challenging tasks is to establish corresponding Bell-like inequalities to demonstrate the FQNN or l-QNN. Up to now, the inequality criteria for FQNN and l-QNN have only been established for star and chain networks. In this paper, we devote ourselves to establishing Bell-like inequalities for networks with more complex structures. Note that star and chain networks are special kinds of tree-shaped networks. We first establish the Bell-like inequalities for verifying l-QNN in k-forked tree-shaped networks. Such results generalize the existing inequalities for star and chain networks. Furthermore, we find the Bell-like inequality criteria for l-QNN for general acyclic and cyclic networks. Finally, we discuss the demonstration of l-QNN in the well-known butterfly networks.

The Antarctic Bottom Water formation site Vincennes Bay,East Antarctica is experiencing a substantial intrusion of modified Circumpolar Deep Water(mCDW),which may inhibit the formation of Dense Shelf Water(DSW)and drive basal melting of the ice *** on hydrographic data obtained from March to November in 2012,we evaluated the spatial spread of mCDW over the continental shelf region of Vincennes Bay and the associated temporal evolution of water properties,as well as the sea ice formation effect on water column in the coastal *** show that two branches of mCDW occupied the deep layers of the continental shelf,distinguished by the potential density(smaller than 27.8 kg/m^(3) or not)when potential temperatureθ=0.5°C in theθ-salinity *** warmer and less dense branch observed on the east plateau,accessed the eastern ice shelves in the coastal polynya to drive basal melting of ice *** contrast,the other colder and denser branch in the mid-depression reached the western Underwood Ice *** formation was detectable in the coastal polynya during September-November,proving the occurrence of deep *** heat loss and brine rejection during the intensive sea ice formation contributed to the destratification of the water column in the coastal *** was estimated that at least 1.11±0.79 TW heat carried by mCDW into the inner part of the polynya.

Metabolic syndrome(Met S)is a chronic disease associated with the disturbance of gut microbiota *** derived from gut microbes play essential roles in Met S prevention and ***,we focused on the inhibitory effect of the extract of millet bran protein(EMBP)on a high-fat diet(HFD)-induced Met S,aiming to identify gut microbiota and their metabolites that involve in the anti-Met S activity of *** obesity,chronic inflammation,insulin resistance in Met S mouse models were abolished after EMBP *** protective mechanism of EMBP against HFD-induced Met S may depend on improved gut barrier *** microbiome analysis,we found that EMBP supplementation improved gut microbiome dysbiosis in Met S mice,specifically upregulating Bacteroides *** fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)also demonstrated this *** addition,metabolomic analysis showed that EMBP mediates metabolic profiling reprogramming in Met S ***,a microbiota-derived metabolite,gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA),is enriched by *** addition,exogenous GABA treatment produced a similar protective effect to EMBP by improving NRF2-dependent gut barrier function to protect HFDinduced Met *** results suggest that EMBP suppress host Met S by remodeling of gut microbiota as an effective candidate for next-generation medicine food dual purpose dietary supplement to intervene in MetS.

Achieving the detachment of divertor can help to alleviate excessive heat load and sputtering problems on the target plates,thereby extending the lifetime of divertor components for fusion *** order to provide a fast but relatively reliable prediction of plasma parameters along the flux tube for future device design,a one-dimensional(1D)modeling code for the operating point of impurity seeded detached divertor is developed based on Python language,which is a fluid model based on previous work(Plasma *** 58045013(2016)).The experimental observation of the onset of divertor detachment by neon(Ne)and argon(Ar)seeding in EAST is well reproduced by using the 1D modeling *** comparison between the 1D modeling and two-dimensional(2D)simulation by the SOLPS-ITER code for CFETR detachment operation with Ne and Ar seeding also shows that they are in good *** also predict the radiative power loss and corresponding impurity concentration requirement for achieving divertor detachment via different impurity seeding under high heating power conditions in EAST and CFETR phase II by using the 1D *** on the predictions,the optimized parameter space for divertor detachment operation on EAST and CFETR is also *** a simple but reliable 1D model can provide a reasonable parameter input for a detailed and accurate analysis by 2D or three-dimensional(3D)modeling tools through rapid parameter scanning.
