An efficient quantum proactive incremental learning algorithm

In scenarios where a large amount of data needs to be learned, incremental learning can make full use of old knowledge, significantly reduce the computational cost of the overall learning process, and maintain high performance. In this paper, taking the MaxCut problem as our example, we introduce the idea of incremental learning into quantum computing, and propose a Quantum Proactive Incremental Learning algorithm(QPIL). Instead of a one-off training of quantum circuit, QPIL contains a multi-phase training on gradually-increased subgraphs of all vertices, proactively reducing large-scale problems to smaller ones to solve in steps, providing an efficient solution for MaxCut. Specifically, some vertices and corresponding edges are randomly selected for training to obtain optimized parameters of the quantum circuit at first. Then, in each incremental phase, the remaining vertices and corresponding edges are gradually added and the parameters obtained from the previous phase are reused in the parameter initialization of the current phase. We perform experiments on 120 different small-scale graphs, and it shows that QPIL performs superior to prevalent quantum and classical baselines in terms of approximation ratio(AR), time cost, anti-forgetting, and solving stability. In particular, QPIL's AR surpasses 20% of mainstream quantum baselines, and the time cost is less than 1/5 of them. The idea of QPIL is expected to inspire efficient and high-quality solutions in large-scale Max Cut and other combinatorial optimization problems.

A Quantum Computing Based Numerical Method for Solving Mixed-Integer Optimal Control Problems

Mixed-integer optimal control problems(MIOCPs) usually play important roles in many real-world engineering applications. However, the MIOCP is a typical NP-hard problem with considerable computational complexity, resulting in slow convergence or premature convergence by most current heuristic optimization algorithms. Accordingly, this study proposes a new and effective hybrid algorithm based on quantum computing theory to solve the MIOCP. The algorithm consists of two parts:(i) Quantum Annealing(QA) specializes in solving integer optimization with high efficiency owing to the unique annealing process based on quantum tunneling, and(ii) double-Elite Quantum Ant Colony Algorithm(dEQACA) which adopts double-elite coevolutionary mechanism to enhance global searching is developed for the optimization of continuous decisions. The hybrid QA/dEQACA algorithm integrates the strengths of such algorithms to better balance the exploration and exploitation abilities. The overall evolution performs to seek out the optimal mixed-integer decisions by interactive parallel computing of the QA and the dEQACA. Simulation results on benchmark functions and practical engineering optimization problems verify that the proposed numerical method is more excel at achieving promising results than other two state-of-the-art heuristics.

Absorption-dominant electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials are promising in reducing electromagnetic radiation pollution,but their preparation processes are usually difficult and unsuitable for large-scale *** this work,multiple folded Bi_(2)Se_(3)/PVdF nanocomposite films were fabri-cated by using a convenient tape-casting method and multiple folding,which can be easily extended in industrial *** EMI shielding effectiveness(SE)of the composite materials was investigated,which shows typical absorption-dominant behavior and can substantially reduce secondary ***,for the 35%(in volume)Bi_(2)Se_(3)/PVdF nanocomposite film,the SE_(A)of single-layered film with a thickness of 60 mm reaches 20 dB while SE_(R)is lower than 5 *** folding the film into eight layers,the SE_(A)increased to 50 dB while SE_(R)remains below 5 *** method provides an effective way to the fabrication of absorption-dominant electromagnetic absorption(EMA)and EMI shielding material.

Numerical Computation of a Mixed-Integer Optimal Control Problem Based on Quantum Annealing

On dynamic Channel Emulation in Sector MPAC for Over-the-Air Testing of Beamformed Massive MIMO devices

In this article,novel emulation strategies for the sectored multiple probe anechoic chamber(SMPAC)are proposed to enable the reliable evaluation of the massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)device operating at beamforming mode,which requires a realistic non-stationary channel *** the dynamic propagation emulation,an efficient closed-form probe weighting strategy minimizing the power angular spectrum(PAS)emulation errors is derived,substantially reducing the associated computational *** the other hand,a novel probe selection algorithm is proposed to reproduce a more accurate fading *** standard channel models and setup configurations are comprehensively simulated to validate the capacity of the proposed *** simulation results show that more competent active probes are selected with the proposed method compared to the conventional ***,the derived closedform probe weighting strategy offers identical accuracy to that obtained with complicated numerical ***,a realistic dynamic channel measured in an indoor environment is reconstructed with the developed methodologies,and 95.6%PAS similarity can be achieved with 6 active *** satisfactory results demonstrate that the proposed algorithms are suitable for arbitrary channel emulation.

Variational Learned Talking-Head Semantic Coded Transmission System

Video transmission requires considerable bandwidth,and current widely employed schemes prove inadequate when confronted with scenes featuring *** by the strides in talkinghead generative technology,the paper introduces a semantic transmission system tailored for talking-head *** system captures semantic information from talking-head video and faithfully reconstructs source video at the receiver,only one-shot reference frame and compact semantic features are required for the entire ***,we analyze video semantics in the pixel domain frame-by-frame and jointly process multi-frame semantic information to seamlessly incorporate spatial and temporal *** modeling is utilized to evaluate the diversity of importance among group semantics,thereby guiding bandwidth resource allocation for semantics to enhance system *** whole endto-end system is modeled as an optimization problem and equivalent to acquiring optimal rate-distortion *** evaluate our system on both reference frame and video transmission,experimental results demonstrate that our system can improve the efficiency and robustness of *** to the classical approaches,our system can save over 90%of bandwidth when user perception is close.

A novel method based on convolutional neural networks for deriving standard 12-lead ECG from serial 3-lead ECG

Reconstruction of a 12-lead electrocardiogram(ECG) from a serial 3-lead ECG has been researched in the past to satisfy the need for more wearing comfort and ambulatory situations. The accuracy and real-time performance of traditional methods need to be improved. In this study, we present a novel method based on convolutional neural networks(CNNs) for the synthesis of missing precordial leads. The results show that the proposed method receives better similarity and consumes less time using the PTB database. Particularly, the presented method shows outstanding performance in reconstructing the pathological ECG signal, which is crucial for cardiac diagnosis. Our CNN-based method is shown to be more accurate and time-saving for deployment in non-hospital situations to synthesize a standard 12-lead ECG from a reduced lead-set ECG recording. This is promising for real cardiac care.

Pre-impact trajectory planning for minimizing base attitude disturbance in space manipulator systems for a capture task

Aimed at capture task for a free-floating space manipulator, a scheme of pre-impact trajectory planning for minimizing base attitude disturbance caused by impact is proposed in this ***, base attitude disturbance is established as a function of joint angles, collision direction and relative velocity between robotic hand and the ***, on the premise of keeping correct capture pose, a novel optimization factor in null space is designed to minimize base attitude disturbance and ensure that the joint angles do not exceed their limits *** reaching the balance state, a desired configuration is achieved at the contact ***, particle swarm optimization（PSO） algorithm is employed to solve the pre-impact trajectory planning from its initial configuration to the desired configuration to achieve the minimized base attitude disturbance caused by impact and the correct capture pose ***, the proposed method is applied to a 7-dof free-floating space manipulator and the simulation results verify the effectiveness.

A Convex Approximation for a PdE Constrained Fractional Optimization Problem with an Application to photonic Crystal design

Based on a subspace method and a linear approximation method,a convex algorithm is designed to solve a kind of non-convex PdE constrained fractional optimization problem in this *** PdE constrained problem is an infinitedimensional Hermitian eigenvalue optimization problem with non-convex and low ***,such a continuous optimization problem can be transformed into a large-scale discrete optimization problem by using the finite element *** use a subspace technique to reduce the scale of discrete problem,which is really effective to deal with the large-scale *** overcome the difficulties caused by the low regularity and non-convexity,we creatively introduce several new artificial variables to transform the non-convex problem into a convex linear semidefinite *** introducing linear approximation vectors,this linear semidefinite programming can be approximated by a very simple linear relaxation ***,we theoretically prove this *** proposed algorithm is used to optimize the photonic band gaps of two-dimensional Gallium Arsenide-based photonic crystals as an *** results of numerical examples show the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm,while they also provide several optimized photonic crystal structures with a desired *** addition,our proposed algorithm provides a technical way for solving a kind of PdE constrained fractional optimization problems with a generalized eigenvalue constraint.

Joint Flexible duplexing and Power Allocation with deep Reinforcement Learning in Cell-Free Massive MIMO System

Network-assisted full duplex(NAFd)cellfree(CF)massive MIMO has drawn increasing attention in 6G *** this paper,we build an NAFd CF system in which the users and access points(APs)can flexibly select their duplex modes to increase the link spectral *** we formulate a joint flexible duplexing and power allocation problem to balance the user fairness and system spectral *** further transform the problem into a probability optimization to accommodate the shortterm *** contrast with the instant performance optimization,the probability optimization belongs to a sequential decision making problem,and thus we reformulate it as a Markov decision Process(MdP).We utilizes deep reinforcement learning(dRL)algorithm to search the solution from a large state-action space,and propose an asynchronous advantage actor-critic(A3C)-based scheme to reduce the chance of converging to the suboptimal *** results demonstrate that the A3C-based scheme is superior to the baseline schemes in term of the complexity,accumulated log spectral efficiency,and stability.
