Effects of input method and display mode of situation map on early warning aircraft reconnaissance task performance with different information complexities

Early Warning Aircraft(EWA)are the main force for air detection and its Human-Machine Interface(HMI)should be designed to support task efficiency and *** the appli-cation of advanced input method and interface design in EWA,little is known about their actual usability in terms of human factors and *** aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the input method and display mode of the situation map on EWA reconnaissance task performance with different information *** participants attended a three-factor within-subject design experiment with input method(touch screen and mouse),display mode of the situation map(color and grayscale),and information complexity(high and low)as the inde-pendent *** behavior performance,subjective workload,heart rate/heart rate variability,and eye movements were recorded as the dependent *** results suggest that a touch screen requires greater task completion time and has greater physical demands than mouse operation;however,it also facilitates information processing by reducing the average fixation *** mode significantly decreases saccade counts compared to grayscale mode and is considered more appropriate for target search tasks as it induces less visual search *** information complexity produces significant negative effects on behavior performance and subjective *** also has significant interaction effects with input method on fixation and saccade *** findings have implications in the optimization design of Human–Machine Interface for EWA task systems.

On the tension necking of copper single crystal specimen under slip deformation mechanism

The tension necking of FCC copper single crystal specimen with a square cross section was analyzed under the slip deformation mechanism. The actual clamp manner of the specimen was modeled by setting correlative boundary condition,and the small angle deflection between tension loading axis and crystallography axis [100] was taken into account. The finite deformation numerical analysis of three-dimensional necking deformation for the specimen was performed by apply-ing crystal plasticity theory associated with a numerical algorithm suggested by the first author. According to the comparison with experimental observation,the fact was confirmed that the numerical results could describe the loading elongation curve of the copper single crystal specimen under large strain tension reasonably,and the method could be used to investigate the necking characteristic in neck shape and the effect due to the small angle deflection. Further,the investigation into the influence of specimen cross-section shape on necking was also performed;the results on mechanical response and neck profile evolution obtained through modeling of cylindrical specimen were compared with those obtained with square cross-section specimen.

Fouling corrosion in aluminum heat exchangers

Abstract Fouling deposits on aluminum heat exchanger reduce the heat transfer efficiency and cause corrosion to the apparatus. This study focuses on the corrosive behavior of aluminum cou- pons covered with a layer of artificial fouling in a humid atmosphere by their weight loss, Tafel plots, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS）, and scanning electron microscope （SEM） observations. The results reveal that chloride is one of the major elements found in the fouling which damages the passive film and initiates corrosion. The galvanic corrosion between the metal and the adjacent carbon particles accelerates the corrosive process. Furthermore, the black carbon favors the moisture uptake, and gives the dissolved oxygen greater chance to migrate through the fouling layer and form a continuous diffusive path. The corrosion rate decreasing over time is conformed to electrochemistry measurements and can be verified by Faraday＇s law. The EIS results indicate that the mechanism of corrosion can be interpreted by the pitting corrosion evolution mechanism, and that pitting was observed on the coupons by SEM after corrosive exposure.

Dynamic crossover in [VIO^(2+)][Tf_(2)N-]_(2) ionic liquid

Ionic liquids usually behave as fragile liquids,and the temperature dependence of their dynamic properties obeys supper-Arrhenius *** this work,a dynamic crossover is observed in([VIO^(2+)][Tf_(2)N-]_(2)) ionic liquid at the temperature of 240-800 *** diffusion coefficient does not obey a single Arrhenius law or a Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann(VFT) relation,but can be well fitted by three Arrhenius laws or a combination of a VFT relation and an Arrhenius *** origin of the dynamic crossover is analyzed from correlation,structure,and *** gets a stronger backward correlation at a lower temperature,as shown by the fractal dimension of the random *** temperature dependence function of fractal dimension,heterogeneity order parameter,and thermodynamic data can be separated into three regions similar to that observed in the diffusion *** two crossover temperatures observed in the three types of data are almost the same as that in diffusion coefficient fitted by three Arrhenius *** results indicate that the dynamic crossover of[VIO2+][Tf2 N-]2 is attributed to the heterogeneous structure when it undergoes cooling.

Reaction diffusion in continuous SiC fiber reinforced Ti matrix composite

SiC continuous fiber-reinforced pure Ti(TA1)matrix composites were fabricated by a vacuum hot pressing(VHP)methodand then heat-treated in vacuum under different *** interfacial reaction and the formation of interfacial phases werestudied by using SEM,EDS and *** results show that there exists reaction diffusion at the interface of SiC fibers and Timatrix,and the concentration fluctuation of reaction elements such as C,Ti and Si appears in interfacial reaction *** interfacialreaction products are identified as Ti3SiC2,TiCx and *** the beginning of interfacial reaction,the interfacial reactionproducts are TiCx and *** with the interfacial reaction diffusion,Ti3SiC2 and Ti5Si3Cx single-phase zones come forth inturn adjacent to SiC fibers,and the TiC+Ti5Si3Cx double-phase zone appears adjacent to Ti matrix,which forms discontinuousconcentric rings by turns around the *** formed interfacial phases are to be Ti3SiC2,Ti5Si3Cx and TiCx+Ti5Si3Cx from SiCfiber to Ti *** interfacial reaction layer growth is controlled by diffusion and follows a role of parabolic rate,and theactivation energy(Qk)and(k0)of SiC/TA1 are 252.163 kJ/mol and 7.34×10?3m/s1/2,respectively.

Microstructure and properties of Nd：YAG laser welded AZ31B magnesium alloy

Biodegradable magnesium-based alloys are very promising materials for temporary implants. Laser welding is an important joining method in such application. In this study, the as-rolled AZ31B magnesium alloy sheets of 1 mm in thickness were successfully joined by Nd ： YAG laser welding. The microstructure and properties of the welded joint were investigated. The result shows that the welded joint is characterized by a narrow heat-affected zone, finer grains and a large number of precipitates distribute in the matrix in the weld. Microhardness of the weld is significantly improved to 72 HV 0. 05 as compared to 55 HV 0. 05 of the base metal. Tensile strength of butt-welded joint is 180. 24 MPa, which is 76. 8% that of the base metal. The electrochemical corrosion experiment shows that the corrosion resistance of laser welded joint is significantly improved in a 3.5 wt. % NaCl solution.

Influence of color coatings on aircraft surface ice detection based on multi-wavelength imaging

In this paper, a simple aircraft surface ice detection system is proposed based on multi-wavelength imaging. Its feasibility is proved by the experimental results. The influence of color coatings of aircraft surface is investigated. The results show that the ice area can be clearly distinguished from the red, white, gray and blue coatings painted aluminum plates. Due to the strong absorption, not enough signals can be detected for the black coatings. Thus, a deep research is needed. Even though, the results of this paper are helpful to the development of aircraft surface ice detection.

Influence of cosmic radiation on lymphocyte micronucleus,serum lipid peroxide and antioxidation capacity in aircrew members

This study looks into the influence of cosmic radiation at high altitudes on human bodies. Results reveal that the cytokinesis-block micronuclei (CBMN) and conventional cultured micronuclei in peripheral blood lymphocytes, serum levels of lipid peroxide, superoxide dismutase, and the total antioxidation capacity by chemical colorimetry all increased significantly in aircrew members. There exists a linear relationship between the CBMN and the average annual effective doses of radiation received or the average annual flying hours. With both of them, a trend shows that the serum lipid peroxide levels increase as well. Either the lipid peroxide or CBMN can sensitively reflect the recent changes in flight load. These findings indicate that cosmic radiation impairs the stability of chromosomes and genome, and induces lipid oxidative damage in aircrews; Lymphocyte CBMN and serum lipid peroxide can be used as monitoring indicators in the cosmic radiation protection for aircrew members.

Exploiting Multiple Correlations Among Urban Regions for Crowd Flow Prediction

Crowd flow prediction has become a strategically important task in urban computing,which is the prerequisite for traffic management,urban planning and public ***,due to variousness of crowd flows,multiple hidden correlations among urban regions affect the ***,crowd flows are also influenced by the distribution of Points-of-Interests(POIs),transitional functional zones,environmental climate,and different time slots of the dynamic urban ***,we exploit multiple correlations between urban regions by considering the mentioned factors comprehensively rather than the geographical distance and propose multi-graph convolution gated recurrent units(MGCGRU)for capturing these multiple spatial *** adapting to the dynamic mobile data,we leverage multiple spatial correlations and the temporal dependency to build an urban flow prediction framework that uses only a little recent data as the input but can mine rich internal ***,the framework can mitigate the influence of the instability of data distributions in highly dynamic environments for *** experimental results on two real-world datasets in Shanghai show that our model is superior to state-of-the-art methods for crowd flow prediction.
