A novel luminescent coordination compound Eu（TTA）3（DEDAF）（1, TTA = 1,1,1-trifluoro-3-（2-thenoyl）acetone, DEDAF = 9,9-diethyl-4,5-diazafluoren） has been synthesized and fully characterized by infrared spectrum, elemental analysis, UV-vis spectrum, etc. X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis reveals that compound 1 shows a mononuclear structure with the europium atom in coordinating to one DAF and three TTA ligands. The mononuclear structure units are assembled into a 3-D polymer by hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions. Photoluminescent property of 1 was investigated in detail at room temperature. Complex 1 emits strong red luminescence. However, it could be quenched even by small amount of water. The fluorescence intensity at 614 nm decreases linearly with the water content increasing（vol% in acetonitrile） in the range of 0.025~0.2% under 278 nm excitation. Thermogravimetric analysis has also been studied, which demonstrates good thermal stability of 1.

Mechanical vibration is an effective fruit harvesting *** evaluate the dynamic characteristics of dwarf Chinese hickory(Carya cathayensis Sarg.)trees and the influence of the tree structure on transmission and attenuation of dynamic response,a new method was proposed based on acceleration admittance measurement on dwarf Chinese hickory trees in orchard environment under impact *** primary resonance frequencies of the tree can be determined based on the acceleration admittance *** effect of the tree structure on the vibratory transmission was quantified using the attenuation ratio of the acceleration admittance.A 5-year-old dwarf Chinese hickory tree sample was *** responses at three resonance frequencies(5,9 and 12 Hz)were analyzed because they were identified as the most effective bands of excitation for the main part of the tree *** results reveal that the variation of the dynamic response along the testing tree is greatly related to the Chinese hickory tree *** attenuation ratio of the acceleration admittance at the branch crotches indicates the leader top crotch may amplify the acceleration admittance no matter what the crotch angle and the branch diameter *** the crotches,the branch chain nodes generally have negative influence on the acceleration admittance along the branch chains which heavily depend on the branch chain *** branch chains with a chain angle no less than 150°and a wood diameter ratio close to 1.0 could produce little influence on the vibration *** those branches with chain angle less than 150°,the vibration was generally attenuated at their chain nodes at three resonance *** impose impact excitations on the tree,high mechanical harvesting efficiency could be achieved on those branch chains which are almost straight and uniform.

Three different low-temperature plasma-based methods were used to improve the surface hydrophilicity of polyethy- lene （PE） films, and all the modification processes were carried out by employing an atmospheric pressure plasma jet （APPJ） system. （a） PE films were directly modified by APPJ using a gas mixture of He and 02. （b） Acrylic acid （AA） was introduced into the system and a polymer acrylic acid （PAA） coating was deposited onto the PE films. （c） AA was grafted onto the PE surface activated by plasma pre-treatment. It was found that the hydrophilicity of the PE films was significantly improved for all the three methods. However, the samples modified by Process （a） showed hydrophobicity recovery after a storage time of 20 days while no significant change was found in samples modified by Process （b） and Process （c）. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） results indicated that the most intensive C=O peak was detected on the PE surface modified by Process （c）. According to the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） analysis, the ratios of oxygen-containing polar groups for samples modified by Process （b） and Process （c） were higher than that modified by Process （a）.

A yellow, alkali-clearable azo disperse dye containing a carboxylic ester moiety was readily synthesized from the reactant p-aminobenzoic acid by successive diazotization, coupling reaction, chlorination and esterification with ethanol. Then its molecular structure was characterized by FTIR,1H NMR,13 C NMR,mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. The synthesized dye and a similar control dye containing the acylamide moiety（I） were applied to dyeing poly（ethylene terephthalate） fabric and their washing and rubbing fastness properties with different post-treatment methods（reduction clearing and alkali clearing） were examined and compared. It is found that the ester-containing disperse dye shows good alkali-clear ability on poly（ethylene terephthalate） fabric and contaminates little to environment due to the absence of reductants, as well as low toxicity and easy recycling of the hydrolysates.

Flow Instability of a Centrifugal Pump Determined Using the Energy Gradient Method

The stability of the centrifugal pump has not been well revealed because of the complexity of internal flow. To analyze the flow characteristics of a centrifugal pump operating at low capacity, methods of numerical simulation and experimental research were adopted in this paper. Characteristics of the inner flow were obtained. Standard k-s turbulence models were used to calculate the inner flow of the pump under off-design conditions. The distri- bution of the energy gradient function K was obtained by three-dimensional numerical simulation at different flow rates. The relative velocity component was acquired from the absolute velocity obtained in particle image velocimetry. By comparing with experimental results, it was found that flow instability occurs at the position of maximum K. The flow stability reduces with an increasing flow rate. The research results provide a theoretical basis for the optimization design of a centrifugal pump.

Mesoporous materials have attracted increasing attention due to their wide application. In this paper, the Na4Ge9020 microspheres were firstly prepared by solvothermal method. Then, the as-prepared Na4Ge9020 microspheres were dispersed into Bi（NO3）3 solution, and the Bi4（GeO4）3 microspheres with mesoporous structure were formed due to the solid-state reaction between bismuth nitrate and Na4Ge9020. The morphology, structure and optical properties were characterized by SEM, EDS, XRD, FITR, BET and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance analysis. The as-prepared products exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance for degradation of reactive brilliant red X-3B under the UV light irradi- ation. A possible photocatalytic mechanism was discussed as well.

Cancer cells possess metabolic properties that are different from those of benign cells.p21,encoded by CDKN1A gene,also named p21Cip1/WAF1,was first identified as a cyclin-dependent kinase regulator that suppresses cell cycle G1/S phase and retinoblastoma protein ***1A(p21)acts as the downstream target gene of TP53(p53),and its expression is induced by wild-type p53 and it is not associated with mutant p53.p21 has been characterized as a vital regulator that involves multiple cell functions,including G1/S cell cycle progression,cell growth,DNA damage,and cell *** 1994,p21 was found as a tumor suppressor in brain,lung and colon cancer by targeting p53 and was associated with tumorigenesis and ***,p21 plays a significant role in tumor development through p53-dependent and p53-independent *** addition,expression of p21 is closely related to the resting state or terminal differentiation of cells.p21 is also associated with cancer stem cells and acts as a biomarker for such *** cancer therapy,given the importance of p21 in regulating the G1/S and G2 check points,it is not surprising that p21 is implicated in response to many cancer treatments and p21 promotes the effect of oncolytic virotherapy.

Exploring the cooperation effect of DBD byproducts and Ag/TiO_2 catalyst for water treatment in an APPJ system

In this paper,the collective effects of combining heterogeneous Ag/TiO2 nanocomposite catalyst with the byproducts（primarily the irradiation and the O3 species） of an atmospheric pressure plasma jet（APPJ） system on the degradation of methyl orange（MO） were *** heterostructured Ag/TiO2 nanocomposite was achieved via decorating the Ag quantum dots（QDs） on the commercially available TiO_2catalyst（P25） through a hydrothermal *** x-ray diffraction analysis of the nanocomposite catalyst showed the diffraction peaks at 44.3°,64.4°,and 77.5°,corresponding to the Ag planes of（200）,（220） and（311）,*** high resolution transmission electron microscope characterization of the nanocomposite catalyst indicated that the Ag QDs with an average diameter of 5 nm were homogeneously distributed on the P25 *** experimental results on the MO photodegradation showed that the APPJ irradiation had a marginal effect on the cleavage of the MO *** the Ag/TiO2 nanocomposite catalyst was used,the photodegradation rate of MO increased about 5 *** both the APPJ byproducts and the Ag/TiO2 nanocomposite catalyst were used,however,over 90% of the MO in the tested solution was cleaved within 15 min,and the energy efficiency was about 0.6 g/k W ***,an optimal Ag dosage value was determined（6 wt%）.The catalytic results indicated that combining the DBD plasma byproducts with heterogeneous nanocomposite catalysts may be an effect protocol for decreasing the application cost of the DBD system and mitigating the environment pollution by organic dyes in the textile industry.

The transforming growth factor(TGF)-βsignaling pathway controls many cellular processes,including proliferation,differentiation,and *** in the TGF-βsignaling pathway and its components are closely related to the occurrence of many human diseases,including *** against decapentaplegic homolog 4(Smad4),also known as deleted in pancreatic cancer locus 4,is a typical tumor suppressor candidate gene locating at q21.1 of human chromosome 18 and the common mediator of the TGF-β/Smad and bone morphogenetic protein/Smad signaling *** is believed that Smad4 inactivation correlates with the development of tumors and stem cell fate ***4 also interacts with cytokines,miRNAs,and other signaling pathways,jointly regulating cell ***,the regulatory function of Smad4 in tumorigenesis,stem cells,and drug resistance is currently *** addition,Smad4 represents an attractive therapeutic target for *** the specific role of Smad4 is important for understanding the mechanism of tumorigenesis and cancer ***,we review the identification and characterization of Smad4,the canonical TGF-β/Smad pathway,as well as the multiple roles of Smad4 in tumorigenesis,stem cells,and drug ***,we provide novel insights into the prospects of Smad4-targeted cancer therapy and the challenges that it will face in the future.
