Elucidating and manipulating pressure-induced water intrusion–extrusion in tunable hydrophobic Co/Zn bimetallic ZIFs:Roles of pore size and hydrogen bond

Porous heterogeneous lyophobic systems(HLSs)find potential applications in energy restoring,dissipating,and ***,the development of controllable HLSs still lacks rational structure design of nanoporous materials matching the molecular sizes of adopted *** that,thoroughly understanding the underlying transportation mechanism in the confined nano channels is greatly *** this work,a series of Co/Zn bimetallic zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs)with tunable structures were synthesized via regulating the Co to Zn ratios and employed to investigate the intrusion–extrusion of liquid water in confined *** characterizations confirm the heterometallic coordination in the Co/Zn-doped *** intrusion–extrusion experiments unlock the relationship between the intrusion pressure and the nanopore size and realize the evolution of the HLSs between molecular spring and *** addition,cycling tests indicate the reversible structure change of Co/Zn ZIFs encountering pressure-induced water *** combination with molecular dynamics simulations,we present that the water multimers intrude into nanopores of ZIFs in chain-like forms along with dissociation of hydrogen bonds(HBs).Water molecules in the pre-intrusion state exhibit reduced HBs in response to the increase of pressure and linear structure with 1.6–3.0 HBs on *** transition to the post-intrusion situation,the associative configuration of water tends to exhibit the tetrahedral ***,we highlight the roles of pore size and HB in synergically dominating the pressure-induced intrusion–extrusion of liquid water in hydrophobic ***,the present work can also guide the development of functional guest–host systems based on porous architectures.

Platinum(Pt)-based materials are still the most efficient and practical catalysts to drive the sluggish kinetics of cathodic oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs).However,their catalysis and stability performance still need to be further improved in terms of corrosion of both carbon support and Pt catalyst particles as well as Pt loading *** on the developed synthetic strategies of alloying/nanostructuring Pt particles and modifying/innovating supports in developing conventional Pt-based catalysts,Pt single-atom catalysts(Pt SACs)as the recently burgeoning hot materials with a potential to achieve the maximum utilization of Pt are comprehensively reviewed in this *** design thoughts and synthesis of various isolated,alloyed,and nanoparticlecontained Pt SACs are *** single-atomic Pt coordinating with non-metals and alloying with metals as well as the metal-support interactions of Pt single-atoms with carbon/non-carbon supports are emphasized in terms of the ORR activity and stability of the *** advance further research and development of Pt SACs for viable implementation in PEMFCs,various technical challenges and several potential research directions are outlined.

Metal-free defective carbon materials with abundant active sites have been widely studied as low-cost and efficient oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)electrocatalysts in metal-air ***,the active sites in defective carbon are easily subjected to serious oxidation or hydroxylation during ORR or storage,leading to rapid degradation of ***,we design a van der Waals heterostructure comprised of vitamin C(VC)and defective carbon(DC)to not only boost the activity but also enhance the durability and storage stability of the DC-VC *** formation of VC van der Waals between DC and VC is demonstrated to be an effective strategy to protect the defect active sites from oxidation and hydroxylation degradation,thus significantly enhancing the electrochemical durability and storage anti-aging ***,the DC-VC van der Waals can reduce the reaction energy barrier to facilitate the *** findings are also confirmed by operando Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory *** is necessary to mention that the preparation of this DC-VC electrocatalyst can be scaled up,and the ORR performance of the largely produced electrocatalyst is demonstrated to be very ***,the DC-VC-based aluminum-air batteries display very competitive power density with good performance maintenance.

Near-field thermophotovoltaic(NTPV)devices comprising a SiC-hBN-graphene emitter and a graphene-InSb cell with gratings are designed to enhance the performance of the NTPV *** electrodynamics and rigorous coupled-wave analysis are employed to calculate radiative heat transfer *** is found that the NTPV systems with two graphene ribbons perform better due to the graphene strong coupling *** effects of graphene chemical potential are *** is demonstrated that near-field radiative heat transfer of thermophotovoltaic devices is enhanced by the coupling of surface plasmon polaritons,surface phonon polaritons,hyperbolic phonon polaritons,and magnetic polaritons caused by the graphene strong coupling *** splitting frequency of different polaritons is calculated to quantify the mutual interaction of graphene strong coupling ***,the effects of cell grating filling ratio are *** excitation of magnetic polaritons is affected by the graphene ribbon and the cell filling *** investigation provides a new explanation of the enhancement mechanism of graphene-assisted thermophotovoltaic systems and a novel approach for improving the output power of the near-field thermophotovoltaic system.

In recent years,there has been a growing interest in graph convolutional networks(GCN).However,existing GCN and variants are predominantly based on simple graph or hypergraph structures,which restricts their ability to handle complex data correlations in practical *** limitations stem from the difficulty in establishing multiple hierarchies and acquiring adaptive weights for each of *** address this issue,this paper introduces the latest concept of complex hypergraphs and constructs a versatile high-order multi-level data correlation *** model is realized by establishing a three-tier structure of ***,we start by establishing hyperedge clusters on a foundational network,utilizing a second-order hypergraph structure to depict potential *** this second-order structure,truncation methods are used to assess and generate a three-layer composite *** the construction of the composite structure,an adaptive learning strategy is implemented to merge correlations across different *** evaluate this model on several popular datasets and compare it with recent state-of-the-art *** comprehensive assessment results demonstrate that the proposed model surpasses the existing methods,particularly in modeling implicit data correlations(the classification accuracy of nodes on five public datasets Cora,Citeseer,Pubmed,Github Web ML,and Facebook are 86.1±0.33,79.2±0.35,83.1±0.46,83.8±0.23,and 80.1±0.37,respectively).This indicates that our approach possesses advantages in handling datasets with implicit multi-level structures.

The development of non-platinum group metal(non-PGM)and efficient multifunctional electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),oxygen evolution reaction(OER),and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)with high activity and stability remains a great ***,by in-situ transforming silver manganese composite oxide heterointerface into boosted Mott-Schottky heterointerface through a facile carbon reduction strategy,a nanorod-like silver/manganese oxide with superior multifunctional catalytic activities for ORR,OER and HER and stability was *** nanorod-like silver/manganese oxide with Mott-Schottky heterointerface(designated as Ag/Mn_(3)O_(4))exhibits an ORR half-wave potential of 0.831 V(***)in 0.1 M KOH,an OER overpotential of 338 mV and a HER overpotential of 177 mV at the current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2)in 1 M KOH,contributing to its noble-metal benchmarks comparable performance in aqueous aluminum-air(Al-air)battery and laboratorial overall water splitting electrolytic ***,in-situ electrochemical Raman and synchrotron radiation spectroscopic measurements were conducted to further illustrate the catalytic mechanism of Ag/Mn_(3)O_(4)Mott-Schottky heterointerface towards various electrocatalytic *** the heterointerface,the Ag phase serves as the electron donor and the active phase for ORR and HER,while the Mn_(3)O_(4)phase serves as the electron acceptor and the active phase for OER,*** work deepens the understanding of the Mott-Schottky effect on electrocatalysis and fills in the gap in fundamental physical principles that are behind measured electrocatalytic activity,which offers substantial implications for the rational design of cost-effective multifunctional electrocatalysts with Mott-Schottky effect.

Carbon dots(CDs)have been widely adopted as optical materials because of their excellent luminescent ***,most of the reported synthetic methods are conducted in solvents,especially hydrothermal/solvothermal reactions,leading to intractable problems such as toxic and flammable solvents,complex and inseparable by-products,and dangerously high pressures and ***-phase synthesis of CDs in air is an effective solution to overcome the above issues,but solid reactions always result in uncontrolled growth and agglomeration of *** this study,some inorganic salts are selected as catalysts for synthesizing CDs in solid states and air,which also play as dispersants to hinder CDs *** the meantime,some aromatic derivatives containing hydroxyl and amino groups are chosen as carbon sources,ground with the optimized catalyst,and then heated together in *** production yields are affected by the reaction time and reactant ratio,while the graphitization degrees of the CDs are determined by the reaction *** IG/ID value of their Raman spectra increases from 0.59 to 0.85,and the particle size decreases from 2.5 to 1.4 nm when the synthesis temperature is increased from 200 to 280℃.The as-prepared CDs show emission peaks ranging from 366 to 606 nm,with the photoluminescence(PL)quantum yield up to 53%.Their emission color variation mainly results from different carbon sources,which can be ascribed to the differences in the element composition,functional groups,and graphitic nitrogen content of these *** dispersing CDs of different concentrations into polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and combining them with blue LEDs,cold,standard,and warm white light emitting devices(WLEDs)are prepared,with a color rendering index(CRI)up to *** the as-prepared CDs have antioxidant ability at high temperature,the as-prepared WLEDs have long lifespans,remaining the effective white luminescence after 72 h continuous work.

Morphological comparison and molecular marker screening of three Skeletonema species found in Changjiang(Yangtze)River Basin

In our recent investigations of diatom diversity,we studied three species,namely,Skeletonema costatum,Skeletonema subsalsum,and Skeletonema *** they have been found frequently in Changjiang(Yangtze)River Basin,their morphological and molecular identification is difficult in ***,to integrate morphological and molecular biological approaches,we compared systematically their morphological characters and performed phylogenetic *** strains of Skeletonema were collected and isolated from shanghai and Jiangsu,china,and their morphological characteristics were examined by light microscopy(LM)and the scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Based on morphological comparison,we determined that *** is easy to distinguish from the other two *** heavily silicified areolae,undulated or cleft distal ends of terminal fultoportula processes(TFPPs),absence of basal pores of fultoportula processes(FPPs),the rootlike protrusions of FPPs,and no interlocking connection are the stable characteristics that can be used to identify ***,there are only two features that can distinguish *** from ***,namely the location of terminal rimoportulae(TRPs)and the distal shape of *** addition,we amplified and sequenced nine common genetic markers from the strains,from which 101 sequences were obtained,constructed phylogenetic trees based on the nine genes and evaluated that seven genes can be used to identify ***,and revealed that *** is the closest known relative of ***,and only ATP synthetase beta-subunit gene(atp B)is able to distinguish them from each other,which strongly support that it is an effective molecular marker for *** work provided a theoretical basis for the taxonomic study of Skeletonema.
