Many experiments have demonstrated that resonant magnetic perturbation(RMP) can affect the turbulent transport at the edge of the tokamak. Through the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak(EAST) density modulation experiment, the particle transport coefficients were calculated using the experimental data, and the result shows that the particle transport coefficients increase with RMP. In this study, the six-field two-fluid model in BOUT++ is used to simulate the transport before and after density pump-out induced by RMP,respectively referred as the case without RMP and the case with RMP. In the linear simulations,the instabilities generally decreases for cases with RMP. In the nonlinear simulation, ELM only appears in the case without RMP. Additionally, the particle transport coefficient was analyzed,and the result shows that the particle transport coefficient becomes larger for the case with RMP,which is consistent with the experimental conclusion. Moreover, its magnitude is comparable to the results calculated from experimental data.

Ultrafast charge exchange recombination spectroscopy(UF-CXRS)has been developed on the EAST tokamak(Yingying Li et al 2019 fusion ***.146522)to measure fast evolutions of ion temperature and toroidal ***,we report the preliminary diagnostic measurements after relative sensitivity *** measurement results show a much higher temporal resolution compared with conventional CXRS,benefiting from the usage of a prismcoupled,high-dispersion volume-phase holographic transmission grating and a high quantum efficiency,high-gain detector *** the UF-CXRS diagnostic,the fast evolutions of the ion temperature and rotation velocity during a set of high-frequency small-amplitude edgelocalized modes(ELMs)are obtained on the EAST tokamak,which are then compared with the case of large-amplitude ELMs.

Accurate measurement of the average plasma parameters in the edge region,including the temperature and density of electrons and ions,is critical for understanding the characteristics of the scrape-off layer(SOL) and divertor plasma transport in magnetically confined fusion *** the J-TEXT tokamak,a multi-channel retarding field analyzer(RFA) probe has been developed to study average plasma parameters in the edge region under various poloidal divertor and island divertor *** edge radial profile of the ion-to-electron temperature ratio,τ_(i/e),has been determined,which gradually decreases as the SOL ion self-collisionality,v_(SOL)*,*** is broadly consistent with what has been observed previously from various tokamak ***,the comparison of experimental results under different configurations shows that in the poloidal divertor configuration,even under the same v_(SOL)*,τ_(i/e) in the SOL region becomes smaller as the distance from the X-point to the target plate *** the island divertor configuration,τ_(i/e) near the O-point is higher than that near the X-point at the same v_(SOL)*,and both are higher than those in the limiter *** results suggest that the magnetic configuration plays a critical role in the energy distributions between electrons and ions at the plasma boundary.

Fast neutron flux measurements with high count rates and high time resolution have important applications in equipment such as *** this study,real-time neutron and gamma discrimination was implemented on a self-developed 500-Msps,12-bit digitizer,and the neutron and gamma spectra were calculated directly on an FPGA.A fast neutron flux measurement system with BC-501A and EJ-309 liquid scintillator detectors was developed and a fast neutron measurement experiment was successfully performed on the HL-2 M tokamak at the Southwestern Institute of Physics,*** experimental results demonstrated that the system obtained the neutron and gamma spectra with a time accuracy of 1 *** count rates of up to 1 Mcps,the figure of merit was greater than 1.05 for energies between 50 keV and 2.8 MeV.

A toroidal soft x-ray imaging(T-SXRI)system has been developed to investigate threedimensional(3D)plasma physics on *** T-SXRI system consists of three sets of SXR *** sets are newly developed and located on the vacuum chamber wall at toroidal positionsφof 126.4°and 272.6°,respectively,while one set was established previously atφ=*** set of SXR arrays consists of three arrays viewing the plasma poloidally,and hence can be used separately to obtain SXR images via the tomographic *** sawtooth precursor oscillations are measured by T-SXRI,and the corresponding images of perturbative SXR signals are successfully reconstructed at these three toroidal positions,hence providing measurement of the 3D structure of precursor *** observed 3D structure is consistent with the helical structure of the m/n=1/1 *** experimental observation confirms that the T-SXRI system is able to observe 3D structures in the J-TEXT plasma.

Tungsten(W) has been received much attention,since it is regarded as one of the most promising plasma facing materials for fusion *** are two typical morphologies of unirradiated polycrystalline W,which have the equiaxed and columnar grains,***,the role of arrangement of grain boundary(GB) in absorbing irradiation-generated point defects is still waiting to be *** current investigation,irradiation-induced void formations in W with equiaxed and columnar microstructures are predicted,respectively,using the developed phase-field *** significant kinetic behavior,such as the generation and annihilation of point defects and the interaction between point defects and GB,is reasonably *** density,size and porosity of void formed in these two microstructures are examined and analyzed according to the effects of GB ratio,temperature and damage *** analytical results show that higher GB ratio can effectively reduce void porosity,and the columnar-grained structure has better irradiation resistance than that of the equiaxed one in the case of small grain *** importantly,the predicted void sizes changed with temperature and damage rate agree well with the experimentally measured *** work has a more beneficial contribution to the microstructural improvement of International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor-grade W.

This study investigates the single-pass absorption(SPA) of ion cyclotron range of frequency(ICRF) heating in hydrogen plasma of the EXL-50U spherical tokamak,which is an upgraded EXL-50 device with a central solenoid and a stronger magnetic *** reliability of the kinetic dispersion equation is confirmed by the one-dimensional full-wave code,and the applicability of Porkolab's simplified theoretical SPA model is discussed based on the kinetic dispersion *** are conducted to investigate the heating effects of the fundamental and second harmonic *** results indicate that with the design parameters of the EXL-50U device,the SPA for second harmonic heating is 63%,while the SPA for fundamental heating is 13%.Additionally,the optimal injection frequencies are 23 MHz at 0.9 T and 31 MHz at 1.2 *** wave vector of the antenna parallel to the magnetic field,with a value of k_‖=7.5 m^(-1),falls within the optimal heating *** reveal that the ICRF heating system can play an important role in the ion heating of the EXL-50U.

Interpreting experimental diagnostics data in tokamaks,while considering non-ideal effects,is challenging due to the complexity of *** address this challenge,a general synthetic diagnostics(GSD)platform has been established that facilitates microwave imaging reflectometry and electron cyclotron emission *** platform utilizes plasma profiles as input and incorporates the finite-difference time domain,ray tracing and the radiative transfer equation to calculate the propagation of plasma spontaneous radiation and the external electromagnetic field in *** tests for classical cases have been conducted to verify the accuracy of every core module in the GSD ***,2D imaging of a typical electron temperature distribution is reproduced by this platform and the results are consistent with the given real experimental *** platform also has the potential to be extended to 3D electromagnetic field simulations and other microwave diagnostics such as cross-polarization scattering.

Far-infrared(FIR)interferometer is widely used to measure the electron density in the magnetically confined fusion plasma devices.A new FIR laser interferometer with a total of 13 channels(8 horizontal channels and 5 oblique channels)is under development on the HL-3tokamak by using the formic-acid laser(HCOOH,f=694 GHz).In order to investigate the boundary electron density activity during the divertor discharge,three horizontal interferometry channels located at Z=-97,-76,76.5 cm have been successfully developed on HL-3 in 2023,and put into operation in recent experimental campaign,with a time resolution of<1.0μs and lineintegrated electron density resolution of~7.0×10^(16) m^(-2).This paper mainly focuses on the optical design of the three-channel interferometry system,as well as optical elements and recent experimental result on HL-3.

Stabilization of tearing modes and neoclassical tearing modes is of great importance for tokamak *** cyclotron waves(ECWs)have been extensively used to stabilize the tearing modes with the virtue of highly localized power *** suppression of the m/n=2/1 tearing mode(TM)by electron cyclotron resonance heating(ECRH)has been achieved successfully on the J-TEXT *** effects of ECW deposition location and power amplitude on the 2/1 TM suppression have been *** is found that the suppression is more effective when the ECW power is deposited closer to the rational *** the ECW power increases to approximately 230 k W,the 2/1 TM can be completely *** island rotation frequency is increased when the island width is *** experimental results show that the local heating inside the magnetic island and the resulting temperature perturbation increase at the O-point of the island play dominant roles in TM *** the ECW power increases,the 2/1 island is suppressed to smaller island width,and the flow shear also plays a stabilizing effect on small magnetic *** the stabilizing contribution of heating and flow shear,the 2/1 TM can be completely suppressed.
