Treatment options for Alzheimer＇s disease （AD） are limited because of the inability of drugs to cross the blood-brain barrier （BBB）. A promising strategy to overcome this obstacle is the use of nanoparticles （NPs）. Previously, we showed that intraperitoneal administration of liposomes functionalized with phosphatidic acid and an ApoE-derived peptide （mApoE-PA-LIP） reduces brain beta-amyloid （A） burden and ameliorates impaired memory in AD mice. Here, we investigated lung administration as an alternative, non-invasive NP delivery route for reaching the brain. Our results show that mApoE-PA-LIP were able to cross the pulmonary epithelium （[C]-PA permeability = 6.5 ＋ 2.0 × 10^4 cm/min） in vitro and reach the brain （up to 0.6 μg PA/g brain） following in vivo intratracheal instillations. Lung administration of mApoE-PA-LIP to AD mice significantly decreased total brain Aβ （-60%; p 〈 0.05） compared to untreated mice. These results suggest that pulmonary administration could be exploited for brain delivery of NPs designed for AD therapy.

极端降雨事件对生态系统功能影响的研究主要集中在干旱或洪水事件,通常包括全年或某个季度的平均或总降雨量的变化。然而,在不改变平均量或总量的情况下,增加降雨变异性的影响还很少被研究。本研究调查了增加水分供应变异性对单一栽培和混合栽培下4种草原植物的地上和根系生物量以及根系生物量分布的影响。将多年生黑麦草(Lolium perenne L.,浅根),菊苣(Cichorium intybus L.,深根),白车轴草(Trifolium repens L.,浅根)和红车轴草(Trifolium pratense L.,深根)种植在中型实验生态系统中。单一栽培条件下种植4株同种植物,混合栽培条件下每种植物各1株。水分供应变异性处理设置低中高3种水平:与低变异水分供应处理相比,另设置一个中度变异处理(±40%)和高度变异处理(±80%),测定了地上和根的生物量,拟合了根系垂直分布模型。研究结果表明,与低变异处理相比,白车轴草,红车轴草和4种植物混种群落的茎生物量在高变异处理下显著减少。在所有处理中,4种植物混种群落产生的茎和根生物量比单一栽培(超产)中物种表现所预测的要多。在水分变异增加的情况下,菊苣在单一栽培下根系分配了更多的生物量到更深的土层,而白车轴草在单一栽培下根系总生物量显著降低。这些结果表明,水分供应变异的增加会对单一栽培和混合栽培草地的地上和根的生物量产生负面影响。在野外尺度上,水分变异对多物种草地系统功能的影响需要进一步研究。

Cysteine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that easily coordinates to soft metal ions and grafts to noble metal surfaces. We report a simple synthetic approach for the production of chiral gold-cysteine polymeric nanoparticles soluble in water. Conjugation of cysteine with gold in a polymeric way, leading to;0 nm diameter nanoparticles, resulted in the generation of new characteristic circular dichroism（CD） signals in the region of 250–400 nm, whereas no CD signal changes were found with cysteine alone. We also investigate their nonlinear optical properties after two-photon absorption. Two-photon emission spectra and first hyperpolarizabilities, as obtained by the hyper-Rayleigh scattering technique, of these particles are presented.

The high Li-ion conductivity of the Li7P3s11 sulfide-based solid electrolyte makes it a promising candidate for all-solid-state lithium batteries. The Li-ion transport over electrode-electrolyte and electrolyteelectrolyte interfaces, vital for the performance of solid-state batteries, is investigated by impedance spectroscopy and solid-state NMR experiments. An all-solid-state Li-ion battery is assembled with the Li7P3s11 electrolyte, nano-Li2s cathode and Li-In foil anode, showing a relatively large initial discharge capacity of 1139.5 m Ah/g at a current density of 0.064 m A/cm^ 2 retaining 850.0 m Ah/g after 30 cycles. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy suggests that the decrease in capacity over cycling is due to the increased interfacial resistance between the electrode and the electrolyte. 1D exchange ^7Li NMR quantifies the interfacial Li-ion transport between the uncycled electrode and the electrolyte, resulting in a diffusion coefficient of 1.70(3) ×10^-14cm^2/s at 333 K and an energy barrier of 0.132 e V for the Li-ion transport between Li2s cathode and Li7P3s11 electrolyte. This indicates that the barrier for Li-ion transport over the electrode-electrolyte interface is small. However, the small diffusion coefficient for Li-ion diffusion between the Li2s and the Li7P3s11 suggests that these contact interfaces between electrode and electrolyte are relatively scarce, challenging the performance of these solid-state batteries.

Many research works have demonstrated that the combination of atomically precise cluster deposition and theoretical calculations is able to address fundamental aspects of size-effects,cluster-support interactions,and reaction mechanisms of cluster *** the wet chemistry method has been widely used to synthesize nanoparticles,the gas-phase synthesis and size-selected strategy was the only method to prepare supported metal clusters with precise numbers of atoms for a long ***,the low throughput of the physical synthesis method has severely constrained its wider adoption for catalysis *** this review,we introduce the latest progress on three types of cluster source which have the most promising potential for scale-up,including sputtering gas aggregation source,pulsed microplasma cluster source,and matrix assembly cluster *** the sputtering gas aggregation source is leading ahead with a production rate of~20 mg·h^(-1),the pulsed microplasma source has the smallest physical dimensions which makes it possible to compact multiple such devices into a small volume for multiplied production *** matrix assembly source has the shortest development history,but already show an impressive deposition rate of~10 mg·h^(-1).At the end of the review,the possible routes for further throughput scale-up are envisaged.

The smoothed particle hydrodynamics（sPH） method is usually expected to be an efficient numerical tool for calculating the fluid-structure interactions in compressors; however, an endogenetic restriction is the problem of low-order consistency. A high-order sPH method by introducing inverse kernels, which is quite easy to be implemented but efficient, is proposed for solving this restriction. The basic inverse method and the special treatment near boundary are introduced with also the discussion of the combination of the Least-square（Ls） and Moving-Least-square（MLs） methods. Then detailed analysis in spectral space is presented for people to better understand this method. Finally we show three test examples to verify the method behavior.

We present a versatile, tuneable, and selective nanoparficle-based lectin biosensor, based on flocculation of ternary supramolecular nanoparticle networks （NPN）, formed through the sequential binding of three building blocks. The three building blocks are ^-cyclodextrin-capped CdTe quantum dots, tetraethylene glycol-tethered mannose-adamantane cross-linkers （ADTEGMan）, and the tetravalent lectin Concanavalin A （ConA）. The working principle of this selective sensor lies in the dual orthogonal molecular interactions of the linker, uniting adamantane-^-cyclodextrin and mannose-lectin interaction motifs, respectively. Only when the lectin is present, sequential binding takes place, leading to in situ self-organization of the sensor through the formation of ternary supramolecular networks. Monitoring the loss of fluorescence signal of the quantum dots in solution, caused by controlled network formation and consecutive flocculation and sedimentation, leads to selective, qualitative, and quantitative lectin detection. Fluorescent sedimented networks can be observed by the naked eye or under UV illumination for a lectin concentration of up to 10 8 M. Quantitative detection is possible at 100 min with a lower detection limit of approximately 5 × 10 ^-8 M.
