Improved Data Stream Clustering Method: Incorporating KD-Tree for Typicality and Eccentricity-Based Approach

Data stream clustering is integral to contemporary big data ***,addressing the ongoing influx of data streams efficiently and accurately remains a primary challenge in current *** paper aims to elevate the efficiency and precision of data stream clustering,leveraging the TEDA(Typicality and Eccentricity Data Analysis)algorithm as a foundation,we introduce improvements by integrating a nearest neighbor search algorithm to enhance both the efficiency and accuracy of the *** original TEDA algorithm,grounded in the concept of“Typicality and Eccentricity Data Analytics”,represents an evolving and recursive method that requires no prior *** the algorithm autonomously creates and merges clusters as new data arrives,its efficiency is significantly hindered by the need to traverse all existing clusters upon the arrival of further *** work presents the NS-TEDA(Neighbor Search Based Typicality and Eccentricity Data Analysis)algorithm by incorporating a KD-Tree(K-Dimensional Tree)algorithm integrated with the Scapegoat *** arrival,this ensures that new data points interact solely with clusters in very close *** significantly enhances algorithm efficiency while preventing a single data point from joining too many clusters and mitigating the merging of clusters with high overlap to some *** apply the NS-TEDA algorithm to several well-known datasets,comparing its performance with other data stream clustering algorithms and the original TEDA *** results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves higher accuracy,and its runtime exhibits almost linear dependence on the volume of data,making it more suitable for large-scale data stream analysis research.

Leaf economics spectrum(LES)describes the fundamental trade-offs between leaf structural,chemical,and physiological ***,structurally robust thick leaves with high leaf dry mass per unit area(LMA)exhibit lower photosynthetic capacity per dry mass(Amass).Paradoxically,“soft and thinleaved”mosses and spikemosses have very low Amass,but due to minute-size foliage elements,their LMA and its components,leaf thickness(LT)and density(LD),have not been systematically ***,we characterized LES and associated traits in cryptogams in unprecedented details,covering five evolutionarily different *** found that mosses and spikemosses had the lowest LMA and LT values ever measured for terrestrial *** a broad range of species from different lineages,Amass and LD were negatively *** contrast,Amass was only related to LMA when LMA was greater than 14 g cm^(-2).In fact,low Amass reflected high LD and cell wall thickness in the studied *** conclude that evolutionarily old plant lineages attained poorly differentiated,ultrathin mesophyll by increasing *** plant lineages,LD,not LMA,is the trait that represents the trade-off between leaf robustness and physiology in the LES.

forest carbon offset(fCO)projects play an increasingly important role in mitigating climate change through market mechanisms in both compliance and voluntary ***,there are challenges and barriers to developing an fCO project,such as carbon leakage and cost-eff *** have been few attempts to summarize and synthesize all types and aspects of existing challenges and possible solutions for fCO *** paper systematically reviews and discusses the current challenges involved in developing fCO projects,and then draws on the experience and lessons of existing projects to show how those challenges were addressed in world-leading voluntary carbon standards,namely the Verifi ed Carbon Standard,the American Carbon Registry,the Climate Action Reserve,and Plan *** voluntary markets have rich experience in fCO projects and are responsible for a signifi cant share of the *** the 53 publications used in this analysis,three broad thematic categories of challenges *** were related to methodology,socio-economic implications,and *** challenges,particularly additionality,permanence,and leakage,were the focus of 46%of the selected research papers,while socio-economic challenges,including transaction,social,and opportunity costs,were addressed by 35%.The remaining 19%of the research articles focused on implementational challenges related to monitoring,reporting,and verifi *** voluntary standards adequately addressed most of the methodological and implementational barriers by adopting various ***,the standards did not adequately address socio-economic issues,despite these being the second most frequently discussed theme in the papers *** research is clearly needed on the socio-economic challenges involved in the development of fCO *** the development of high-quality forestry carbon off set projects,there are many challenges and no simple,universal recipe for addressi

New insights into the carotenoid biosynthesis in Torreya grandis kernels

Torreya grandis is a characteristic rare economic tree species in subtropical mountainous areas. The nut has a variety of bioactive compounds, such as polyphenols and vitamins. However, the carotenoids compositions and its regulatory mechanisms underlying carotenoid biosynthesis in kernels remain unknown. Here, the major carotenoids in the kernel were analyzed. The result showed that lutein and β-carotene were the predominant carotenoids in the kernel, while low levels of a-carotenoid and zeaxanthin were detected. Lutein and β-carotene were decreased during the maturation of kernel. Expression analysis by RNA-seq and q RT-PCR indicated that the expressions of TgCYP97A3 and TgLCYB were also reduced during the maturation of kernel. The contents of lutein or β-carotene were obviously increased in tobacco transiently overexpressing TgCYP97A3 or TgLCYB. Moreover, DPPH radical scavenging activity and fRAP were also significantly enhanced. In addition, several MYB and WRKY transcription factors TgMYBS3, TgMYB48 and TgWRKY11 were identified to positively regulate the TgCYP97A3 expression, while TgMYB48, TgWRKY2 and TgWRKY11 could upregulate the TgLCYB expression. The illustration of carotenoids biosynthesis and its molecular mechanism in kernels not only provides a basis for understanding carotenoids biosynthesis in kernels, but also enables the use of molecular biotechnology to develop new health products rich in carotenoids based on T. grandis nuts.

The phytolith carbon sequestration in terrestrial ecosystems:the underestimated potential of bamboo forest

Taxus leaves provide the raw industrial materials for taxol,a natural antineoplastic drug widely used in the treatment of various ***,the precise distribution,biosynthesis,and transcriptional regulation of taxoids and other active components in Taxus leaves remain ***-assisted laser desorption/ionization–mass spectrometry imaging analysis was used to visualize various secondary metabolites in leaf sections of Taxus mairei,confirming the tissue-specific accumulation of different active ***-cell sequencing was used to produce expression profiles of 8846 cells,with a median of 2352 genes per *** on a series of cluster-specific markers,cells were grouped into 15 clusters,suggesting a high degree of cell heterogeneity in *** *** data were used to create the first Taxus leaf metabolic single-cell atlas and to reveal spatial and temporal expression patterns of several secondary metabolic *** to the cell-type annotation,most taxol biosynthesis genes are expressed mainly in leaf mesophyll cells;phenolic acid and flavonoid biosynthesis genes are highly expressed in leaf epidermal cells(including the stomatal complex and guard cells);and terpenoid and steroid biosynthesis genes are expressed specifically in leaf mesophyll cells.A number of novel and cell-specific transcription factors involved in secondary metabolite biosynthesis were identified,including MYB17,WRKY12,WRKY31,ERf13,GT_2,and *** research establishes the transcriptional landscape of major cell types in *** leaves at a single-cell resolution and provides valuable resources for studying the basic principles of cell-type-specific regulation of secondary metabolism.
