sulfur mass-independent fractionation(s-MIF)preserved in Archean sedimentary pyrite is interpreted to reflect atmospheric *** ranges in Δ^(33)s that expanded into larger fractionations leading up to the Great oxygenation Event(GoE;2.45–2.2 Ga)are disproportionately represented by sequences from the Kaapvaal and Pilbara *** patterns of s-MIF attenuation and enhancement may differ from the timing and magnitude of minor sulfur isotope fractionations reported from other cratons,thus obscuring local for global sulfur cycling *** expanding the Δ^(33)s record to include the relatively underrepresented são Francisco Craton in Brazil,we suggest that marine biogeochemistry affected s-MIF preservation prior to the *** an early Neoarchean sequence(2763–2730 Ma)from the Rio das Velhas Greenstone Belt,we propose that low δ^(13)Corg(s(-0.4‰to-0.7‰)in banded iron formation reflect the marine diagenetic process of anaerobic methane *** overlying black shale(ToC up to 7.8%)with higher δ^(13)Corg(-33.4‰to-19.2‰)and expanded Δ^(33)s(2.3‰±0.8‰),recorded oxidative sulfur cycling that resulted in enhance preservation of s-MIF input from atmospheric sources of elemental *** sequence culminates in a metasandstone,where concomitant changes to more uniform δCorg(-30‰to--25‰),potentially associated with the RuBisCo I enzyme,and near-zero Δ^(33)s(-0.04‰to 0.38‰)is mainly interpreted as evidence for local oxygen *** placed in the context of other sequences worldwide,the Rio das Velhas helps differentiate the influences of global atmospheric chemistry and local marine diagenesis in Archean biogeochemical *** data suggest that prokaryotic sulfur,iron,and methane cycles might have an underestimated role in pre-GoE sulfur minor isotope records.

since the CoVID-19 pandemic was first reported in 2019,it has rapidly spread around the *** countries implemented several measures to try to control the virus *** healthcare system and consequently the general quality of life population in the cities have all been significantly impacted by the Coronavirus *** different waves of contagious were responsible for the increase in the number of cases that,unfortunately,many times lead to *** this paper,we aim to characterize the dynamics of the six waves of cases and deaths caused by CoVID-19 in Rio de Janeiro city using techniques such as the Poincaréplot,approximate entropy,second-order difference plot,and central tendency *** results reveal that by examining the structure and patterns of the time series,using a set of non-linear techniques we can gain a better understanding of the role of multiple waves of CoVID-19,also,we can identify underlying dynamics of disease spreading and extract meaningful information about the dynamical behavior of epidemiological time *** findings can help to closely approximate the dynamics of virus spread and obtain a correlation between the different stages of the disease,allowing us to identify and categorize the stages due to different virus variants that are reflected in the time series.

Venom snake-derived peptides have multiple biochemical,pharmacological,and toxicological proﬁles,allowing for the discovery of new medicinal products and therapeutic *** review speciﬁcally examines the fundamental elements of neuroprotection offered by different oligopeptides derived from snake *** also includes a brief evaluation of short peptides that are being considered as potential therapeutic ***-rich peptides and tryptophyllin family peptides isolated from the crude venom of Viperidae family snakes,speciﬁcally Bothrops atrox,Bothrops jararaca,and Bothrops moojeni,have been shown to have pro-survival properties,the ability to reduce oxidative stress,and the ability to promote cell viability and mitochondrial *** signiﬁcant mechanisms are related to the neuroprotection mediated by snake venom oligopeptides:(1)Activation of the L-arginine metabolite pathway,such as polyamines from ornithine metabolism,which reduces N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)-type glutamate receptor activity;(2)Enhancement of cell viability by activating the nerve growth factor-signaling pathway;and(3)Activation of the Muscarinic acetylcholine receptor subtype M1(mAChR-M1).These small peptides show promise as neuroprotective agents against a variety of neurodegenerative disorders.

Inductive Model Generation for Text Classification Using a Bipartite Heterogeneous Network

Algorithms for numeric data classification have been applied for text classification. Usually the vector space model is used to represent text collections. The characteristics of this representation such as sparsity and high dimensionality sometimes impair the quality of general-purpose classifiers. Networks can be used to represent text collections, avoiding the high sparsity and allowing to model relationships among different objects that compose a text collection. such network- based representations can improve the quality of the classification results. one of the simplest ways to represent textual collections by a network is through a bipartite heterogeneous network, which is composed of objects that represent the documents connected to objects that represent the terms. Heterogeneous bipartite networks do not require computation of similarities or relations among the objects and can be used to model any type of text collection. Due to the advantages of representing text collections through bipartite heterogeneous networks, in this article we present a text classifier which builds a classification model using the structure of a bipartite heterogeneous network. such an algorithm, referred to as IMBHN （Inductive Model Based on Bipartite Heterogeneous Network）, induces a classification model assigning weights to objects that represent the terms for each class of the text collection. An empirical evaluation using a large amount of text collections from different domains shows that the proposed IMBHN algorithm produces significantly better results than k-NN, C4.5, sVM, and Naive Bayes algorithms.

Heritage,urban form and spatial resignifcation in the production of sustainable olympic legacies:an urban design analysis of the Rio de Janeiro olympic Games

The olympic Games have been associated with many urban transformation projects throughout their history,often focusing on city *** sustainability concerns,however,constitute a pressing challenge,with the regeneration of central areas fulflling a key role in existing urban *** this paper,the legacy of the Rio 2016 olympic Games at two proposed centralities was analysed,namely,the olympic Park,intended as a future neighbourhood to the west of the city,and Porto Maravilha(PM),an urban project aimed at revitalizing a central,historical area of the *** comparing the olympic Park and the frst provided areas in PM,in terms of selecting urban design criteria through qualitative in loco assessments,this paper focused on analysing the impacts of urban forms and heritage on the consolidation of these two centralities,as well as encouraging social interaction and integration into the *** analysis results indicated that urban design attributes such as human-scaled,mixed-use,context-based urban spaces could interfere with social interaction and the usability of ***,the repurposing of heritage buildings contributed to urban cohesion for legacy ***,novel insights into urban design and heritage could become important for future editions of the olympics so that host cities may fulfl their sustainability agendas.

Aging is a dynamic and progressive process that begins at conception and continues until *** process leads to a decrease in homeostasis and morphological,biochemical and psychological changes,increasing the individual’s vulnerability to various *** growth in the number of aging populations has increased the prevalence of chronic degenerative diseases,impairment of the central nervous system and dementias,such as Alzheimer’s disease,whose main risk factor is age,leading to an increase of the number of individuals who need daily support for life *** theories about aging suggest it is caused by an increase of cellular senescence and reactive oxygen species,which leads to inflammation,oxidation,cell membrane damage and consequently neuronal ***,mitochondrial mutations,which are generated throughout the aging process,can lead to changes in energy production,deficiencies in electron transport and apoptosis induction that can result in decreased ***,increasing cellular senescence and the release of proinflammatory cytokines can cause irreversible damage to neuronal *** reports point to the importance of changing lifestyle by increasing physical exercise,improving nutrition and environmental enrichment to activate neuroprotective defense ***,this review aims to address the latest information about the different mechanisms related to neuroplasticity and neuronal death and to provide strategies that can improve neuroprotection and decrease the neurodegeneration caused by aging and environmental stressors.

During the rainy season in Brazil,landslides can have catastrophic consequences,including loss of life,damage to urban infrastructure and significant economic ***,more than eight million people in Brazil live in disaster-prone *** objective of this article is to present a chronological review of the principal policies and programmes at the national,state,and municipal levels,with an emphasis on their key actions aimed at mitigating the impact of disasters related to natural hazards,particularly *** analysis was based on official records of public policies from the national,state,and municipal *** results show that several initiatives were initially developed at the local and regional ***,it was not until the late 1980s that a comprehensive organisation of civil protection at the national level emerged as a response *** is possible to highlight three phases(understanding,coexistence,and prevention)of institutional action focused on risk management in the face of *** the growing knowledge of risk scenarios,disasters continue to occur in Brazil on an annual basis,revealing several obstacles to reducing their impact,particularly given the social and economic disparities between Brazilian regions and the applicability of public policies that must overcome the limitations of each municipality.

Applying a Context-based Method to Build a Knowledge Graph for the Blue Amazon

Knowledge graphs are employed in several tasks,such as question answering and recommendation systems,due to their ability to represent relationships between *** constructing such a graphs,however,remains an unresolved challenge within knowledge *** tackle this challenge,we propose CtxKG,a method specifically aimed at extracting knowledge graphs in a context of limited resources in which the only input is a set of unstructured text *** is based on openIE(a relationship triple extraction method)and BERT(a language model)and contains four stages:the extraction of relationship triples directly from text;the identification of synonyms across triples;the merging of similar entities;and the building of bridges between knowledge graphs of different *** method distinguishes itself from those in the current literature(i)through its use of the parse tree to avoid the overlapping entities produced by base implementations of openIE;and(ii)through its bridges,which create a connected network of graphs,overcoming a limitation similar methods have of one isolated graph per *** compare our method to two others by generating graphs for movie articles from Wikipedia and contrasting them with benchmark graphs built from the oMDb movie *** results suggest that our method is able to improve multiple aspects of knowledge graph *** also highlight the critical role that triple identification and named-entity recognition have in improving the quality of automatically generated graphs,suggesting future paths for ***,we apply CtxKG to build BlabKG,a knowledge graph for the Blue Amazon,and discuss possible improvements.

Quality of care in patients with inflammatory bowel disease from a public health center in Brazil

BACKGRoUND Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBDs)are chronic diseases that demand continuous interaction between patients and healthcare *** of care(QoC)is a factor that contributes to a patient’s adherence to treatment and its *** To evaluate QoC in patients from a single IBD reference *** This cross-sectional study included 133 patients from a single Brazilian IBD public health *** was evaluated through the QoC Through the Eyes of Patients with IBD(QUoTE-IBD)questionnaire(based on patient perspectives),which measures eight dimensions of *** compared QoC among patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and analyzed the clinical and psychological factors associated with QoC *** evaluations assessed disease characteristics,quality of life,anxiety,and depression *** sixty-nine patients with Crohn’s disease and 64 with ulcerative colitis were *** mean age was 37.26 years±13.05 years,and 63.91%of the patients were *** mean duration of the disease was 8.44 years±7.59 years,where most patients were in remission(70.31%of patients with ulcerative colitis and 62.32%with Crohn’s disease).The total QoC score of the sample was 8.61 years±1.31 points,indicating that the QoC provided by the center was *** to univariate logistic regression,patients with Crohn’s disease had higher satisfaction rates than those with ulcerative colitis[odds ratio(oR):2.746;95%confidence interval(CI):1.360-5.541;P=0.0048]and patients on infliximab(oR:2.175;95%CI:1.037-4.562;P=0.0398).CoNCLUsIoN Patients from the IBD public center reported good doctor-patient relationships,but had problems related to the healthcare *** of healthcare centers is of paramount to improve QoC for the patients involved.
