For the past two decades,great achievements have been made in cancer research of China and the majority of them were supported by the national Natural science foundation of China(NSFC).In this article,we reviewed the funding history of NSFC including the number of proposals,the amount of grants,distribution of supported program categories during the period of 1987 to 2012 and the representative achievements made by continuous support of ***,the impacts of NSFC support on discipline development and talent fostering were *** 1987 to 2012,a total of 8738 proposals related to cancer research were funded by *** percentages of the Research Program,Talent-Training Program,and the Research Environment Program were 61.19%,36.32%,and 2.49%,*** the support of NSFC,cancer research in China has achieved a significantly rapid and balanced development in both disciplines and scientist resources.

Objective The national Natural science foundation of China(NSFC)has made great progress in promoting the development of aortic dissection research in recent *** study aimed to examine the development and research status of aortic dissection research in China so as to provide references for future *** The NSFC projects data from 2008 to 2019 were collected from the Internet-based science Information System and other websites utilized as search *** publications and citations were retrieved by Google Scholar,and the impact factors were checked by the InCite Journal Citation Reports *** investigator’s degree and department were identified from the institutional faculty *** A total of 250 grant funds totaling 124.3 million Yuan and resulting in 747 publications were *** funds in economically developed and densely populated areas were more than those in underdeveloped and sparsely populated *** was no significant difference in the amount of funding per grant between different departments’***,the funding output ratios of the grants for cardiologists were higher than those for basic science *** amount of funding for clinical researchers and basic scientific researchers in aortic dissection was also *** researchers were better in terms of the funding output *** These results suggest that the medical and scientific research level of aortic dissection in China has been greatly ***,there are still some problems that urgently need to be solved,such as the unreasonable regional allocation of medical and scientific research resources,and the slow transition from basic science to clinical practice.

Prevention of annual"green tides"caused by blooms of the green macroalga Ulva prolifera,which have occurred in the Yellow Sea since 2007,has received much *** evidence indicates that micro-propagules on the rafts used for Porphyra yezoensis aquaculture along the coastline of Jiangsu Province in China,were the primary source of these green *** this study,we investigated the effectiveness of a silicone antifouling coating for preventing the adhesion and germination of *** micro-propagules on bamboo and nylon ropes,which have been used in rafts for *** *** results demonstrated that a coating of silicone(Sylgard 184)containing 1.0 wt.%sodium benzoate(NaB)could reduce the adhesion rate to<5%and completely inhibited the growth of *** propagules on the coated *** bamboo and nylon ropes with NaB-incorporated silicone thus proved a potentially effective method for controlling the initial biomass accumulation of ***.

Due to the tremendous diversity of microbial organisms in topsoil,the estimation of saturated richness in a belowground ecosystem is still ***,we intensively surveyed the 16S rRNA gene in four 1 m2 sampling quadrats in a typical grassland,with 141 biological or technical replicates generating over 11 million sequences per *** these massive data sets and using both non-asymptotic extrapolation and non-parametric asymptotic approaches,results revealed that roughly 15919±193,27193±1076 and 56985±2347 prokaryotic species inhabited in 1 m2 topsoil,classifying by DADA2,UPARSE(97%cutoff)and Deblur,respectively,and suggested a huge difference among these clustering *** 500000 sequences were required to catch 50%species in 1 m2,while any estimator based on 500000 sequences would still lose about a third of total *** sequencing depth will greatly underestimate both observed and estimated *** least~911000,~3461000,and~1878000 sequences were needed for DADA2,UPARSE,and Deblur,respectively,to catch 80%species in 1 m2 topsoil,and the numbers of sequences would be nearly twice to three times on this basis to cover 90%*** contrast,α-diversity indexes characterized by higher order of Hill numbers,including Shannon entropy and inverse Simpson index,reached saturation with fewer than 100000 sequences,suggesting sequencing depth could be varied greatly when focusing on exploring differentα-diversity characteristics of a microbial *** findings were fundamental for microbial studies that provided benchmarks for the extending surveys in large scales of terrestrial ecosystems.

Joint Funds of national Natural science foundation of China （ NSFC ） are initiated by different stakeholders, which aim to play a better 9ufdin9 role to support basic research in specific areas and directions. They have formed an important part of the national natural science funding system, which is responsible for advancing science and technology in an expanding frontier. The article would briefly summarize the joint funds strategic goals, programs implementation and achievements in the past decade, and provide a perspective on their future development.

Mineralized tissue regeneration is an important and challenging part of the field of tissue engineering and *** present,autograft harvest procedures may cause secondary trauma to patients,while bone scaffold materials lack osteogenic activity,resulting in a limited *** with osteogenic induction growth factor can improve the osteoinductive performance of bone graft,but the explosive release of growth factor may also cause side *** this study,we innovatively used platelet-rich fibrin(PRF)-modified bone scaffolds(Bio-Oss®)to replace autograft,and used cytokine(BMP-2)to enhance ***,this mixture,which we named“Autograft Mimic(AGM)”,has multiple functions and advantages.(1)The fiber network provided by PRF binds the entire bone scaffold together,thereby shaping the bone grafts and maintaining the space of the defect area.(2)The sustained release of BMP-2 from bone graft promoted bone regeneration continuously.(3)AGM recruited bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)and promote their proliferation,migration,and osteogenic ***,AGM developed in this study can improve osteogenesis,and provide new guidance for the development of clinical bone grafts.

Objective:This study was performed to investigate the relationship between the human melanogenesis and antioxidant systems and to further confirm the synergistic effect of oxyresveratrol(OXYR)and resveratrol(RES)in human epidermal melanocyte cell ***:The human epidermal melanocyte line PIG1 cells were divided into the UV groups and control group,treated with different doses of UVB and without UVB,*** assay and flow cytometry were used to detect cell viability and *** expression of Nrf2/HO-1 and melanogenesis-associated proteins/genes was measured by Western blotting and real-time qPCR(RT-qPCR).pCMV6-XL5-Nrf2 was used to upregulate the expression of ***,the proteins/genes levels of Nrf2/HO-1 and tyrosinase(TYR),melanin/eumelanin content,and reactive oxygen species(ROS)were *** analysis and cell experiment were used to analyze whether OXYR and RES inhibit TYR *** blotting,RT-qPCR,and NaOH splitting method were used to determine the Nrf2/HO-1 and melanogenesis-associated proteins/genes expression and melanin content to evaluate the efficacy of OXYR and ***:The activated Nrf2 and HO-1 eliminated ROS produced by UVB *** melanogenesis-associated proteins/genes of melanocyte-inducing transcription factor(MITF,P<0.01 on protein expression),TYR(both P<0.01),TYR-related protein(TRP)-1(both P<0.05),and TRP2(P<0.05 on mRNA expression)were activated in PIG1 cells by UVB ***,the upregulation of Nrf2 significantly reduced melanogenesis formation(P<0.001)and TYR level(P<0.01 on protein expression).Moreover,OXYR and RES synergistically inhibited TYR activity(P<0.001)and reduced melanin content(P<0.001).Conclusions:A microbalance exists between Nrf2/HO-1 signaling and melanogenesis production in the UVBinduced responses of ***,OXYR enhances the ability of RES to inhibit melanin production.

Numerous neural network(NN)applications are now being deployed to mobile *** applications usually have large amounts of calculation and data while requiring low inference latency,which poses challenges to the computing ability of mobile ***,devices’life and performance depend on ***,in many scenarios,such as industrial production and automotive systems,where the environmental temperatures are usually high,it is important to control devices’temperatures to maintain steady *** this paper,we propose a thermal-aware channel-wise heterogeneous NN inference *** contains two parts,the thermal-aware dynamic frequency(TADF)algorithm and the heterogeneous-processor single-layer workload distribution(HSWD)*** on a mobile device’s architecture characteristics and environmental temperature,TADF can adjust the appropriate running speed of the central processing unit and graphics processing unit,and then the workload of each layer in the NN model is distributed by HSWD in line with each processor’s running speed and the characteristics of the layers as well as heterogeneous *** experimental results,where representative NNs and mobile devices were used,show that the proposed method can considerably improve the speed of the on-device inference by 21%–43%over the traditional inference method.
