The liver has a complex cellular composition and a remarkable regenerative *** primary cell types in the liver are two parenchymal cell populations,hepatocytes and cholangiocytes,that perform most of the functions of the liver and that are helped through interactions with non-parenchymal cell types comprising stellate cells,endothelia and various hemopoietic cell *** regulation of the cells in the liver is mediated by an insoluble complex of proteins and carbohydrates,the extracellular matrix,working synergistically with soluble paracrine and systemic *** recent years,with the rapid development of genetic sequencing technologies,research on the liver’s cellular composition and its regulatory mechanisms during various conditions has been extensively *** breakthroughs in strategies for cell transplantation are enabling a future in which there can be a rescue of patients with end-stage liver diseases,offering potential solutions to the chronic shortage of livers and alternatives to liver *** review will focus on the cellular mechanisms of liver homeostasis and how to select ideal sources of cells to be transplanted to achieve liver regeneration and *** advances are summarized for promoting the treatment of end-stage liver diseases by forms of cell transplantation that now include grafting strategies.

Improved closure techniques for laparoscopic partial nephrectomy in moderately complex renal cell carcinoma

Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy(LPN)as a minimally invasive nephron-sparing surgery is gradually becoming the preferred surgical treatment for T1a renal carcinoma since it yields faster post-operative recovery and equivalent oncological outcomes to radical nephrectomy.[1]However,it is difficult to perform LPN for complex renal tumors,resulting in a longer warm ischemic time(WIT),which consequently affects the recovery of post-operative renal function.[2]With the development of laparoscopic instruments and techniques and the accumulating experience of surgeons,the WIT during LPN may be shortened using anatomy-based early unclamping(EUC)[1]after the placement of one or two running sutures on the tumor *** this study,we improved the closure techniques for LPN using EUC in patients with complex renal tumors and assessed their effectiveness.

Multiple sclerosis(MS) is considered to be an autoimmune-mediated demyelinating disease of central nervous system(CNS),with a hallmark of extensive demyelination in the *** remyelination is critical in relieving ***(EA),originated from traditional Chinese medicine,has been widely used to treat CNS diseases all over the *** studies display that EA could ameliorate the symptoms of multiple sclerosis clinically and promote remyelination on spinal cord injury model of rat,but the role of EA in demyelinating diseases are barely *** this study,we examined the remyelinating properties and mechanisms of EA in cuprizone(CPZ)-induced demyelinating model,a well-characterized model specifically to unravel the demyelination and remyelination mechanism in *** CPZ-induced model was induced by feeding male C57BL/6 mice aged between 5 and 6 weeks with standard chow containing 0.2%CPZ for 5 *** 5weeks induction,CPZ was removed and replaced with standard diet for 2 weeks allowing for spontaneous *** treatment started from the first day of week 5 after the mice receiving CPZ chow and lasted for 3 *** acupoints in the governor vessel(GV),Baihui(GV20) and Zhiyang(GV9) were *** received 30 min EA treatment once every other *** following results were obtained:1) EA treatment significantly attenuates neurobehavioral dysfunctions of demyelinating mice.2) EA promotes remyelination in corpus callosum.3) EA enhances the clearance and removal of degraded myelin debris in corpus callosum.4) More microglial cells displaying ameboid,phagocytic shape with M2 phenotype are infiltrated into corpus callosum after 3 weeks successive EA *** conclude that EA can promote remyelination by recruiting more phagocytic microglial cells into corpus callosum removing degraded myelin debris and ameliorate ***,EA may have a potential therapeutic value as an alternative treatment for demyelinatin

疼痛包括感觉分辨和情绪体验两个基本成分。对疼痛感觉分辨成分的研究,在基因、分子、细胞和系统水平已获得重要进展,但对于疼痛的情绪、情感成分的研究相对滞后。越来越多的临床观察显示,疼痛特别是慢性疼痛所伴随的负性情绪状态,严重影响患者的身心健康。本文简要总结了痛厌恶情绪研究领域的主要进展,着重阐述了前扣带皮层（anterior cingulate cortex,ACC）参与痛厌恶情绪过程的神经机制,特别是ACC神经元NMDA受体和ERK-CREB信号通路的关键性作用。多种调控分子如突触相关蛋白SIP30和雌激素可通过突触前和突触后机制调控兴奋性氨基酸释放、NMDA受体功能和ACC锥体神经元突触可塑性参与痛厌恶情绪的形成。

Clinical observation of acupuncture combined with sitting-position knee-adjustment manipulations for patellofemoral arthritis

Objective To observe the efficacy of acupuncture combined with sitting-position knee-adjustment manipulations in treating patellofemoral *** Ninety-two patients with patellofemoral osteoarthritis were randomized into an observation group and a medication group,with 46 cases in each *** observation group received acupuncture and sitting-position knee-adjustment manipulations,and the medication group received oral celecoxib *** 8-week treatment,changes in the short-form McGill pain questionnaire(SF-MPQ)and Lysholm knee scoring scale(LKSS)scores were observed,and the clinical efficacy was *** The total effective rate was 87.0%in the observation group and 63.0%in the control group;the between-group difference was statistically *** treatment,there were no significant differences in the SF-MPQ score or LKSS score(P>0.05).After 8-week treatment,the SF-MPQ[including pain rating index(PRI),visual analog scale(VAS),and present pain intensity(PPI)]and LKSS scores showed notable changes in both groups(P<0.05);the SF-MPQ and LKSS scores in the observation group were significantly different from those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Combining acupuncture and sitting-position knee-adjustment manipulations can reduce pain and ameliorate joint function in patients with patellofemoral osteoarthritis,producing more significant efficacy than oral celecoxib capsules.
