Dear Editor,Despite the introduction of novel front-line therapies including rituximab plus high-dose cytarabine followed by consolidative autologous stem cell transplantation(ASCT)and salvage therapy with bendamustine,lenalidomide or bortezomib,mantle cell lymphoma(MCL)is still considered incurable and most patients experience relapse or refractory(RR)disease.

Dam deformation analysis based on BPNN merging models

Hydropower has made a significant contribution to the economic development of Vietnam,thus it is important to monitor the safety of hydropower dams for the good of the country and the *** this paper,dam horizontal displacement is analyzed and then forecasted using three methods:the multi-regression model,the seasonal integrated auto-regressive moving average(SARIMA)model and the back-propagation neural network(BPNN)merging *** monitoring data of the Hoa Binh Dam in Vietnam,including horizontal displacement,time,reservoir water level,and air temperature,are used for the *** results indicate that all of these three methods can approximately describe the trend of dam deformation despite their different forecast ***,their short-term forecasts can provide valuable references for the dam safety.

CFD analysis and Optimization of an Engine with a Restrictor Valve in the Intake System

In some competitions the rules clearly state that all participating cars must install a restrictor valve structure in the intake system of the *** intake air volume of the engine is considerably affected due to the existence of such a ***,a small interface diameter through which gas flows can lead to considerable flow resistance and *** this study,a four-cylinder engine for FSC racing is analyzed using a combined method based on numerical simulation and *** analysis reveals that the main factors affecting the intake air volume are the intake manifold and the volume of the resonance *** influence of such factors is assessed using a single variable method and an optimal model and parameters are obtained *** of different results show that the maximum torque for the optimized system is increased from the original 42.6 N·m to 46.9 N·m,thus demonstrating an increase of 10.6%.These findings provide a theoretical basis for the design of the intake system and the improvement of engine performance.

Gait analysis of patients with knee osteoarthritis before and after Chinese massage treatment

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Chinese massage therapy in patients with knee osteoarthritis(OA) by measuring lower-limb gait parameters. We recruited 20 women with knee OA,who then underwent Chinese massage therapy three times per week for 2 weeks. The patients underwent gait evaluation using a six-camera infrared motion analysis system. They completed Western Ontario and Mc Master Universities Osteoarthritis Index questionnaires before and after treatment. We calculated the forward speed,step width,step length,total support time percentage,initial double support time percentage,and single support time percentage. We also measured the angles at the knee,hip,and ankle during the stance phase of walking. The results showed statistically significant mean differences in knee pain relief,alleviation of stiffness,and physical function enhancement after therapy(P < 0.05). The patients gained significantly faster gait speed,greater step width,and increased total support time percentage after the Chinese massage therapy(P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in the range of motion or initial contact angles of the knee,hip,or ankle during the stance phase of walking. We concluded that Chinese massage is a beneficial complementary treatment and an alternative therapy choice for patients with knee OA for short-term pain relief. Chinese massage may improve walking ability for these patients.

Preoperative P-wave duration as a predictor of atrial fibrillation after coronary artery bypass grafting: A prospective cohort study with meta-analysis

Objectives:Reported prediction rules for postoperative atrial fibrillation(AF)have suffered from inconsistent results and controversy surrounding the predictive value of a preoperative P-wave duration(PreOPWD).This study examined PreOPWD as a predictor for AF after coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG).Methods:Two-hundred-and-ninety-nine patients with sinus rhythm before off-pump CABG were recruited into the ***'demographic and clinical data were evaluated *** were continuously monitored for the first seven postoperative *** logistic regressionwas used to determine significant predictors of *** were then combined with similar studies and a metaanalysis was ***:Postoperative AF was observed in 33.1%of 299 *** with AF were older,had a prolonged PreOPWD,higher incidences of hypertension,aortic regurgitation,and mitral regurgitation.A cut-off point of PreOPWD105ms achieved a specificity of 74%,and a sensitivity of 65%for predictive of *** analysis showed that PreOPWD105ms(odds ratio[OR]4.63,95%confidence intervals[CI]2.66 to 8.03,Panalysis of this data combined with those of ten other studies showed that PreOPWD was greater in patients with POAF,with a weighted mean difference of 3.95 ms(95%CI 1.97 to 5.92,P<0.001).Conclusion:This study confirmed,among other predictive characteristics,that PreOPWD is a powerful independent predictor of POAF.

Differentiation of qualified tea beverages from spoiled ones by the LC-MS-based analysis of their polycarboxylic acids

Polycarboxylic acids(PACs)are important metabolic products in almost all living bodies,yet current analytical methods for detection of PACs in tea beverages are still unsatisfactory due to the complex matrix and physicochemical properties of *** this work,a rapid method was developed for the simultaneous determination of 7 PACs,including tartaric acid,α-ketoglutaric acid,malic acid,malonic acid,cis-aconitic acid,succinic acid,and fumaric acid,in beverages,based on selective removal of the matrix in combination with liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry(LC-MS)*** stirring with activated carbon and the Na2CO3 solution,the matrix in beverages was selectively removed,and PACs were almost retained in the supernatant of diluted Na2CO3 *** optimized parameters,the limit of quantitation for the PACs was in the range of 1–50 ng/mL,and the content of the PACs in 8 beverages was determined with the recovery range of 72.2%–122.5%.The contents of malic acid,malonic acid,and succinic acid in tea beverages were found to be greater than those in non-tea ***,the concentration of these PACs in beverages was found to be multiplied many times in their deterioration period,especially for fumaric acid andα-ketoglutaric *** results indicated that PACs can be selected as a criterion to differentiate qualified tea beverages from spoiled beverages.

Fuzzy cluster analysis of the provenance of ancient Yaozhou porcelain body

The technique of neutron activation analysis (NAA) has been employed to measure the content of 29 kinds of elements in the sample of Yaozhou porcelain bodies. Then a fuzzy cluster analysis has been conducted to the NAA data and a diagram of the dynamic fuzzy cluster analysis has been achieved. The results indicate that the batch of ancient Yaozhou porcelain bodies, which were of different overglaze color and were produced by different kilns during a period of over 800 years from the Tang Dynasty (618—907 A.D.) to the Yuan Dynasty (1271—1368 A.D.), has shared a stable and concentrated raw material source. Provenances of por-celain bodies from different times, though having their spe-cific independence, enjoy a close relationship and are not far from one another. Provenances of porcelain bodies made during the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties (907—960 A.D.) are found to be closer to one another, while those of the Song (960—1279 A.D.) and the Jin Dynasty (1115—1234 A.D.) are comparatively concentrated in certain areas and are dif-ferent from those of the Tang Dynasty. Both the tri-colored glazed pottery made in Yaozhou kilns during the Tang Dy-nasty and the Yaozhou porcelain bodies of the Tang period are from the same provenance.

The characteristic spectrum and its main wavelength of Ru porcelain glaze are measured by color difference instrument to determine the relations between glaze color and its main wavelength. The content of the 30 coloring elements in Ru porcelain is determined by neutron activation analysis (NAA), which showed that iron is the major coloring element. Mossbauer spectroscopy analysis shows that the iron element in the glaze exists in the form of structural iron (Fe2+, Fe3+). The quantitative relationship between the main wavelength of glaze in various colors and the relative content of structural iron (Fe2+/Fe3+) is determined. Thus the coloring mechanism of Ru porcelain is investigated entirely.
