Quantifying and mapping spatial variability of Shanghai household carbon footprints

Understanding the spatial variability of house- hold carbon emissions is necessary for formulating sustainable and low-carbon energy policy. However, data on household carbon emissions is limited in China, the world＇s largest greenhouse gases emitter. This study quantifies and maps household carbon emissions in Shanghai using a city-wide household survey. The findings reveal substantial spatial variability in household carbon emissions, especially in transport-related emissions. Low emission clusters are founded in Hongkou, Xuhui, Luwan, Jinshan, and Fengxian. High emission clusters are located in Jiading and Pudong. Overall, the spatial pattern of household carbon emissions in Shanghai is donut-shaped： lowest in the urban core, increasing in the surrounding suburban areas, and declining again in the urban fringe and rural regions. The household emissions are correlated with a number of housing and socioeconomic factors, including car ownership, type of dwelling, size of dwelling, age of dwelling, and income. The findings underscore the importance of a localized approach to low-carbon policy- making and implementation.

In recent years, beijing has experienced severeair pollution which has caused widespread public *** to the same period in 2014, the first threequarters of 2015 exhibited significantly improved airquality. However, the air quality sharply declined in thefourth quarter of 2015, especially in November andDecember. During that time, beijing issued the first redalert for severe air pollution in history. In total, 2 red alerts,3 orange alerts, 3 yellow alerts, and 3 blue alerts wereissued based on the adoption of relatively temporaryemergency control measures to mitigate air pollution. Thisstudy explored the reasons for these variations in airquality and assessed the effectiveness of emergency alertsin addressing severe air pollution. A synthetic analysis ofemission variations and meteorological conditions wasperformed to better understand these extreme air pollutionepisodes in the fourth quarter of 2015. The results showedthat compared to those in the same period in 2014, thedaily average emissions of air pollutants decreased in thefourth quarter of 2015. However, the emission levels ofprimary pollutants were still relatively high, which was themain intrinsic cause of haze episodes, and unfavorablemeteorological conditions represented important externalfactors. Emergency control measures for heavy airpollution were implemented during this red alert period,decreasing the emissions of primary air pollutants byapproximately 36% and the PMa.5 concentration by 11%-21%.

Tradable green certificate(TGC)scheme promotes the development of renewable energy industry which currently has a dual effect on economy and *** market efficiency is reflected in stimulating renewable energy investment,but may be reduced by the herding behavior of market *** paper proposes and simulates an artificial TGC market model which contains heterogeneous agents,communication structure,and regulatory rules to explore the characteristics of herding behavior and its effects on market *** results show that the evolution of herding behavior reduces information asymmetry and improves market efficiency,especially when the borrowing is *** addition,the fundamental strategy is diffused by herding evolution,but TGC market efficiency may be remarkably reduced by herding with borrowing ***,the herding behavior may evolve to an equilibrium where the revenue of market players is comparable,thus the fairness in TGC market is improved.

As subsidy is a popular form of stimulating consumption,not only for home appliances market,the effectiveness of selling promotion subsidies need to be *** this paper,we check the role of promotion subsidies in the offline channel layout by establishing three models,i.e.,no subsidy,customer rebate and retailer *** kinds of online-to-offline strategies are considered,which are retailer’s opening separate and sharing offline *** is gotten that:both customer rebate and retailer subsidy increase the possibility of opening offline channels by sharing offline store strategy,but customer rebate takes high price than no subsidy while retailer subsidy is on the *** the growing subsidy,both customer rebate and retailer subsidy could make offline channels opened by separate or sharing offline store strategy,but the customer rebate brings more *** customer rebate and retailer subsidy require less social welfare to open offline channel,but the customer rebate brings more consumer surplus of opening offline channels than retailer subsidy for a given market ***,government should give the subsidy to customer,not to retailer,even if it brings the increasing of product’price.

Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to show how description logics(DLs)can be applied to formalizing the information bearing capability(IBC)of paths in entity-relationship(ER)***/methodology/approach–The approach follows and extends the idea presented in Xu and Feng(2004),which applies DLs to classifying paths in an ER *** verify whether the information content of a data construct(e.g.a path)covers a semantic relation(which formulates a piece of information requirement),the principle of IBC under the source-bearer-receiver framework is *** is observed that the IBC principle can be formalized by constructing DL expressions and examining constructors(***).Findings–Description logic can be used as a tool to describe the meanings represented by paths in an ER schema and formalize their *** criteria for identifying data construct distinguishability are also discovered by examining quantifiers in DL expressions of paths of an ER ***/value–This paper focuses on classifying paths in data schemas and verifying their formalized IBC by using DLs and the IBC *** is a new point of view for evaluation of data representation,which looks at the information borne by data but not data dependencies.

A Green Mixed Integer Linear Programming Model for Optimization of Byproduct Gases in Iron and Steel Industry

Byproduct gas is an important secondary energy in iron and steel industry, and its optimization is vital to cost reduction. With the development of iron and steel industry to be more eco-friendly, it is necessary to construct an integrated optimized system, taking economics, energy consumption and environment into consideration. Therefore, the environmental cost caused by pollutants discharge should be factored in total cost when optimizing byproduct gas distribution. A green mixed integer linear programming （MILP） model for the optimization of byproduct gases was established to reduce total cost, including both operation cost and environmental cost. The operation cost included penalty for gas deviation, costs of fuel and water consumption, holder booster trip penalty, and so forth; while the environmental cost consisted of penalties for both direct and indirect pollutants discharge. Case study showed that the proposed model brought an optimum solution and 2.2% of the total cost could be reduced compared with previous one.

Plastic pollution has become a non-negligible global pollution ***(NP)can reach the bone marrow with blood circulation and develop hematotoxicity,but potential mechanisms and prevention strategies are ***,we report the biological distribution of NP particles in the bone marrow of mice and hematopoietic toxicity after exposure to 60μg of 80 nm NP for 42 *** exposure inhibited the capability of bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells to renew and ***,probiotics and melatonin supplementation significantly ameliorated NP-induced hematopoietic damage,and the former was superior to the *** interestingly,melatonin and probiotic interventions may involve different microbes and *** melatonin intervention,creatine showed a stronger correlation with NP-induced gut microbiota *** contrast,probiotic intervention reversed the levels of more gut microbes and plasma *** these,threonine,malonylcarnitine,and 3-hydroxybutyric acid might be potential performers in the regulation of hematopoietic toxicity by gut microbes,as they had a more significant relationship with the identified *** conclusion,supplementation with melatonin or probiotics may be two candidates to prevent hematopoietic toxicity attributable to NP ***,the multi-omics results may lay the foundation for future investigations into in-depth mechanisms.

Microstructure,texture evolution and strain hardening behaviour of the Mg-1Y and Mg-1Zn(wt%)alloys were investigated under room temperature *** characterization was performed by optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,electron back scattered diffraction and transmission electron *** experimental results show that Mg-1Zn alloy exhibits conventional three-stage strain hardening curves,while Mg-1Y alloy exhibits novel six-stage strain hardening *** Mg-1Y alloy,rare earth texture leads to weak tensile twinning activity in compression and consequently results in a moderate evolution to***,inefficient tensile twinning activity and weak slip-twinning interaction give rise to excellent ductility and high hardening capacity but low strain hardening *** Mg-1Zn alloy,basal texture leads to pronounced tensile twinning activity in compression and consequently results in rapid evolution to*** intense tensile twinning activity and strong slip-twinning interaction lead to high strain hardening rate but poor ductility and low hardening capacity.
