Identification of Motor Nuclei in the Medulla Oblongata of Carp for Biological Control

Brain-controlled technology is the key technology in biological control,and the corresponding relationship between animal brain nuclei and motor behavior is the *** purpose of this study was to explore the motor nuclei of the medulla oblongata in *** carps were subjected to electrical stimulation and chemical stimulation experiments,respectively,in the water-free state,and the effective chemical stimulation sites were injected with the pontamine sky blue *** brain tissue sections were obtained by paraffin tissue section technology and the neutral red staining *** comparing the positions of the brain nuclei shown in earlier studies,the motor nerve nuclei in the medulla oblongata were *** brain electrode was implanted into the motor nucleus of the medulla oblongata,and the underwater control experiment and behavioral tests were carried out with different electrical stimulation *** results showed that the abducens nucleus(NVI)was the motor nucleus that controls the ipsilateral steering,and the facial nucleus(NVII)was the motor nucleus that controls the forward *** adjusting the stimulation voltage and the stimulation pulse number,the carp can be stably controlled to achieve a left–right steering motion of 30°–180°and a forward motion of more than 80 cm/*** study indicated that the quantitative control of the steering and forward behavior of the carp can be achieved by electrical stimulation of the NVI and NVII,which provided a certain experimental basis for the accurate control of the carp robot.

TCP-1,a novel peptide to diagnose early colon cancer

A nine cyclic peptide(TCP-1)showed excellent specificity for colon ***-1 binds with human tumor tissues at early stages and mice tumor with diameters of 1-4 mm,suggesting that TCP-1 may be used for early diagnosis of colon *** mechanism of the targeted binding of TCP-1 to colon cancer was also studied using immunoprecipitation,LC-MS and *** screening and identifying of the possible binding target proteins of TCP-1,keratin,typeⅡcytoskeletal 5 was speculated to be the specific binding target protein of TCP-1 in human tumor *** studies were conducted to investigate the target-mediated drug disposition of the new tumor-specific peptide by LC-MS/*** tissue distribution study showed that TCP-1 was found only in colon tumors(the target site)in tumor mice did not bind to any other *** TCP-1 to tumor markedly increased its removal rate from blood circulation but mildly extended its staying time in *** tumor mice,a lower AUC of TCP-1(reduced by almost 35%)and 2-fold higher clearance were found compared to that of normal *** proposed metabolic pathway of TCP-1 in the kidney was also determined using LC-MS^(n)-*** high specificity and low toxicity of the peptide may be caused by its extremely tight binding to the *** applications for future clinical use,including MRI and PET/CT were also explored,and this research may promote the development of colon cancer diagnostic technology research and provide new ideas and technical routes for tumor diagnostic technology.

Background:Risk assessment and treatment stratification for three-vessel coronary disease(TVD)remain *** study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of left atrial volume index(LAVI)with the Synergy Between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery(SYNTAX)score II,and its association with the long-term prognosis after three strategies(percutaneous coronary intervention[PCI],coronary artery bypass grafting[CABG],and medical therapy[MT])in patients with ***:This study was a post hoc analysis of a large,prospective cohort of patients with TVD in China,that aimed to determine the long-term outcomes after PCI,CABG,or optimal MT alone.A total of 8943 patients with TVD were consecutively enrolled between 2004 and 2011 at Fuwai Hospital.A total of 7818 patients with available baseline LAVI data were included in the ***,procedural,and follow-up data were *** primary endpoint was major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events(MACCE),which was a composite of all-cause death,myocardial infarction(MI),and *** endpoints included all-cause death,cardiac death,MI,revascularization,and ***-term outcomes were evaluated among LAVI quartile ***:During a median follow-up of 6.6 years,a higher LAVI was strongly associated with increased risk of MACCE(Q3:hazard ratio[HR]1.20,95%confidence interval[CI]1.06-1.37,P=0.005;Q4:HR 1.85,95%CI 1.64-2.09,P<0.001),all-cause death(Q3:HR 1.41,95%CI 1.17-1.69,P<0.001;Q4:HR 2.54,95%CI 2.16-3.00,P<0.001),and cardiac death(Q3:HR 1.81,95%CI 1.39-2.37,P<0.001;Q4:HR 3.47,95%CI 2.71-4.43,P<0.001).Moreover,LAVI significantly improved discrimination and reclassification of the SYNTAX score ***,there was a significant interaction between LAVI quartiles and treatment strategies for *** was associated with lower risk of MACCE than MT alone,regardless of LAVI *** patients in the fourth quartile,PCI was associated with significantly incre

Coupling interaction between biodiversity and aquatic habitat area in Western Route project vicinity

The Western Route of the South-to-North Water Transfer project will divert water from the upper Yangtze River and its tributaries, the Dadu River and Yalong River, to the upper Yellow River. The project may ease the water shortage in the Yellow River Basin. However, it may also have some effects on the ecosystem in the upper Yangtze River Basin. Benthic invertebrates play an important role in the river ecosystem, particularly in the circulation of materials and nutrition. Benthic invertebrates are widely used to quickly assess river ecosystems because of their rapid response to changes in the water environment. The diversity of benthic invertebrates is closely associated with the aquatic habitat area. This study examined this interaction by sampling the benthic invertebrates in an expanding area. The conclusions are that the diversity of benthic invertebrates begins to decrease when the aquatic habitat area is reduced to 45% of the original area, and decreases dramatically when the aquatic habitat area is reduced to 10% of the original area. The aquatic habitat area should be kept at more than 45% of the original area in order to maintain the significant diversity of benthic invertebrates.

Influence of TiO_2 Mineralizer on the Crystalline Structure of Cordierite Synthesized from Aluminum Slag

By adding small amount of TiO2, aluminum slag could be used to synthesize cor- dierite. α-Al2O3, TiO2 and dehydrated talc could generate solid solution to accelerate the solid-state reaction to form cordierite. The experimental results show that the content of cordierite increases with the increase of TiO2 added. 3.0% of TiO2 is determined to be the best amount, because all crystalline substances are converted into cordierite at this content. Philips X’pert plus software analysis shows that when the content of TiO2 is from 0 to 1.0%, cordierite has the same hexagonal structure as the single crystal and the lattice parameters change slightly; when the content of TiO2 is from 1.0 to 2.0%, the cordierite still keeps hexagonal structure but the lattice parameters change greatly; when the content of TiO2 is from 2.0 to 3.5%, the cordierite is converted from hexagonal into rhombic and the lattice parameters change accordingly.

Regularities of Formation of Ternary Intermetallic Compounds between One Transition Element and Two Non-transition Elements

The pattern recognition methods and a four-parameter model, Eased on extension of Miedema's cellular model of alloy phases, are used to study the regularities of formation of ternary compounds between one transition element (T) and two non-transition elements (N, N') (T-N-N' system). The influences of phi (electronegativity), n(ws)(1/3)(valence electron density in Wagner-Seitz cell), R(Pauling's metallic radii) and Z (number of valence electrons in atom) on the formation of the ternary intermetallic compounds were investigated.

Design and performance simulation of a molecular Doppler wind lidar

A mobile molecular Doppler wind lidar at an eye-safe wavelength of 355 nm based on double-edge technique is being built in Hefei （China） for wind measurement from 10-to 40-km altitude. The structure of this lidar system is described. A triple Fabry-Perot etalon is employed as a frequency discriminator whose parameters are optimized. The receiver system is designed to achieve compactness and stability by putting in a standard 19-inch socket bench. Simulation results show that within the wind speed dynamic range of ±100 m/s, the horizontal wind errors due to noise are less than 1 m/s bdow 20-km altitude for 100-m vertical resolution, and less than 5.5 m/s from 20 km up to 40 km for 500-m vertical resolution with 400-mJ laser energy, 30-min temporal resolution, and a 45-cm aperture telescooe.

Effect of Cerium on Microstructures and High Temperature Oxidation Resistance of An Nb-Si System In-Situ Composite

Nb-16Si-24Ti-6Cr-6A1-2Hf-xCe （x =0, 0.05, 0.1,02.5, 0.5, 1 （%, atom fraction）） in situ composites were prepared by arc melting The microstmcture and the effect of rare earth element cerium on 1250℃ oxidation resistance of the composites were investigated with scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and X-ray energy disperse spectrum （EDS）, as well as X-ray diffraction （XRD）. The experimental results showed that the high temperature oxidation resistance of the alloy was improved by adding a proper amount of cerium （Ce）. The effect of Ce was considered as the concurrent of the following three factors： first, the oxide of Ce formed in the interface reduced the internal oxidation rate; second, the lath shaped oxide containing Ce increased the cracking resistance and reduced the expansion of the oxide scale; and third, the decrease of the sificide volume fraction on account of Ce addition reduces the power of the sample resisting oxygen penetration.

Structure of Complexes of Lanthanides with N,N′-Dimethyl-3-Oxa-Glutaramic Acid

A new stripping agent N,N-dimethyl-3-oxa-glutaramic Acid (DOGA) was used in TRPO process to simplify the TRPO process. The structures of the complexes of the DOGA with Eu(Ⅲ), Nd(Ⅲ), La(Ⅲ) were characterized with extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (EXAFS), infrared spectra (IR) and mass spectra (MS). The molecular formula of the complexes of Eu(Ⅲ) and Nd(Ⅲ) is deduced to be M(DOGA)_3, and only La(Ⅲ) can form the complex HM(DOGA)_4 under condition of high consistency of the DOGA. The coordination number of Ln(Ⅲ) in the complexes is 8, and all of coordinated donor atoms are O atoms. For Eu(Ⅲ), Nd(Ⅲ), the coordination numbers of O atom in the first coordination shell is 6 and the average coordination bond lengths of Ln-O are 0 240 nm, 0 244 nm respectively, while the numbers of the second O shell are 2.4, and the average coordination bond lengths of Ln-O are 0 260 nm, 0 262 nm. For La(Ⅲ), the coordination numbers of O atom in the first coordination shell is 6 and the average coordination bond lengths of La-O are 0 258 nm, while the number of O atom in the second coordination shell is 4.4, and the average coordination bond length of La-O is 0 28 nm. The results of IR and MS show that there is no water coordinating with Ln(Ⅲ) in the complexes.
