Background:The application of cryopreservation and artificial insemination technology have contributed to the advancement of animal ***,a substantial proportion of spermatozoa undergoes alterations and loses their fertility during cryopreservation,rendering the frozen-thawed semen impractical for routine *** is known to reduce sperm lifespan and *** in cryosurvival of spermatozoa from different sires and even with the individual sire is common in artificial insemination(AI)*** goal is to improve post-thawed semen quality by optimization of cryopreservation technique through sperm selection prior to cryopreservation ***:Our strategy of sperm selection based on rheotaxis and thermotaxis(SSRT)on macrosale in a rotating fluid flow demonstrated the ability to maintain the original pre-freezing structural integrity,viability and biological function related to fertilization *** strategy has a positive effect on the cryosurvival and fertilizing abilities of spermatozoa as supported by the improvement on pregnancy rate of Japanese Black heifers and Holstein repeat *** technique protected further sublethal damage to bovine spermatozoa(higher%cryosurvival than the control)and resulted in the improvement of DNA *** selected spermatozoa demonstrated slower and controlled capacitation than unprocessed control which is thought to be related to sperm longevity and consequently to appropriate timing during in vivo ***:These results provide solid evidence that improvement of post-thawed semen quality by SSRT method is beneficial in terms of cryosurvival,longevity of post-thawed sperm,and optimization of in vivo fertilization,embryo development and calving as supported by the favorable results of field fertility study.

An abattoir survey of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia lesions in slaughtered cattle in selected districts in Northern Tanzania

Objective:To establish and estimate incidence of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia(CBPP),using abattoir survey as a diagnostic tool in slaughtered cattle in Northern ***:A total of 4460 cattle were slaughtered in five abattoirs in 3 northern zone regions(Arusha,Kilimanjaro and Tanga)during the period of January to May *** were examined ante-mortem for‘pneumonia signs',and‘characteristic contagious bovine pleuropneumonia(CBPP)lung lesions'.Results:Forty-one(0.91%)of the slaughtered cattle,the majority of which were Tanzania short horn zebu,had gross lung lesions suggestive of *** prevalence of lesions was significantly(P<0.05)higher in Karatu abattoir compared to *** animal was detected to have lesion in Bomang'ombe *** most observed pneumonic signs included labored breathing(90%),dry cough(57%)and mucopurulent nasal discharge(47%).The gross characteristic CBPP pathological lesion,frequently encountered was left lung lesion(47%),pinkish lung(71%)and pleural adhesion(98%).Epidemiological reports show that the CBPP reported outbreaks increased from 19 in 2002,65 in 2003 and 18 in 2004(January-March).The corresponding number of reported deaths increased from 137 in 2002,269 in 2003 and 77 in 2004(January-March).Conclusions:It's concluded from this study that CBPP is a problem in spite of the extensive awareness and vaccination ***,a continued surveillance programme including routine checks of all cattle carcasses at the abattoir and subsequent epidemiological investigation of suspected cases are recommended.

A novel strategy for gas mitigation during swine manure odour treatment using seaweed and a microbial consortium

Gas emissions from swine farms have an impact on air quality in the Republic of *** manure stored in deep pits for a long time is a major source of harmful gas ***,we evaluated the mitigation of emissions of ammonia(N H 3),hydrogen sulfide(H2S)and amine gases from swine manure with biological products such as seaweed(Sargassum homeri)and a microbial consortium(Bacillus subtilis(1.2×10^9 CFU/mL),Thiobacillus sp.(1.0×10^10 CFU/mL)and Saccharomyces cerevisiae(2.0×10^9 CFU/mL))used as additives due to their promising benefits for nutrient ***,seaweed powder masking over two days provided notable control of over 98%-100%of the gas ***,significant control of gas emissions was especially pronounced when seaweed powder masking along with a microbial consortium was applied,resulting in a gas reduction rate of 100%for NH 3,amines and H2S over 10 days of *** results also suggested that seaweed powder masking and a microbial consortium used in combination to reduce the gas emissions from swine manure reduced odour compared with that observed when the two additives were used *** the consortium,seaweed decreased total volatile fatty acid(VFA)*** proposed novel method of masking with a microbial consortium is promising for mitigating hazardous gases,simple,and environmentally *** research is warranted to determine the mechanisms underlying the seaweed and substrate interactions.

Identification of key genes and metabolites involved in meat quality performance in Qinchuan cattle by WGCNA

Understanding the genetic and metabolic elements that impact meat quality is crucial to improving production and meeting consumer demands in the beef *** in meat quality among various muscle areas in beef cattle can impact pricing in the *** progress in genomics,the specific genes and metabolites that affect meat quality characteristics in Qinchuan cattle remain inadequately ***,this study aims to evaluate the meat quality characteristics of four specific muscle locations(tenderloin,striploin,high rib,and ribeye muscles)in Qinchuan bulls,including 10 traits(total protein content(TPC),intramuscular fat(IMF),non-esterified fatty acid(NEFA),meat color(L*,a*,and b*),shear force(SF),cooking loss(CL),pH0,and pH24).This experiment uses transcriptome,metabolome sequencing,and sophisticated analytical methodologies such as weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA)and protein–protein interaction networks(PPI)to identify the key genes and metabolites associated with specific *** findings highlight three notable genes(NDUFAB1,NDUFA12,and NDUFB7)linked to intramuscular fat(IMF),three key genes(CSRP3,ACAA3,and ACADVL)correlated with non-esterified fatty acids(NEFA),and one crucial gene(CREBBP)influencing meat *** conclusion,this investigation offers a new perspective on the differences in bovine muscle locations and contributes to the molecular understanding of bovine meat *** research endeavors could delve deeper into the identified genes and pathways to enhance beef cattle’s quality and yield.

联合国将碳中和视为当今世界最为紧迫的任务,而农业是温室气体排放最多的产业之一,各国相继出台政策积极开展农业农村减排工作。韩国自2012年开始逐渐减少海洋粪污排泄量,并大力实行绿色种养循环农业,解决本国内畜禽粪污问题。韩国作为中国的重要海上邻国,不论是从研究借鉴角度抑或生态系统共享角度,了解其环境保护政策都是十分必要的。本文从韩国实施的主要政策、各地区农地养分收支现状、代表性运营模式案例、政策关注焦点等方面介绍韩国绿色种养循环农业的发展概况,结合中国绿色种养循环农业现状开展研究。提出三点政策建议:第一,进一步完善畜禽粪污资源化利用机具补贴辅助管理系统,提高系统在农户中的普及率;第二,提高全民环保意识的同时,政府的角色不应局限自上而下的引导型,应该积极促进种植户和养殖户间的自发组织,并大力提倡吸纳社会资本,集结社会各方力量;第三,促进绿色种养循环农业产品的商品化和品牌化,从而调动农户参与绿色种养循环农业的积极性。

We prepared a novel,sustained-release ivermectin solid dispersion(IVM-SDs) with a hydrophobic matrix(hydrogenated castor oil,HCO).No IVM crystals were observed in the IVM-SDs under polarized light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) indicating that IVM was completely dispersed in *** state of the IVM in IVM-SDs was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and X-ray powder diffraction(XRPD).IVM molecules were completely dispersed in the carrier as an amorphous state in the IVM-SDs when the drug:carrier ratio was lower than 1:*** addition,no chemical reaction between drug and carrier were seen in Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) and H nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR).The in vitro release study showed that the percent drug release and release rate of IVM from IVM-SDs was considerably lower than that of pure IVM and physical mixtures(PMs)indicating that the IVM-SDs exhibited a sustained release effect of *** was also found that the drug-to-carrier ratio was the critical factor for drug *** study demonstrates that the prepared IVM-SD was an excellent candidate for the preparation of a long-acting IVM injectable aqueous suspension.
