1T-polytype tantalum disulfide(1T-TaS_(2)),an emerging strongly correlated material,features a narrow bandgap of 0.2 e V,bridging the gap between zero-bandgap graphene and large-bandgap 2D nonlinear optical(NLO)*** with its intense light absorption,high carrier concentration,and high mobility,1T-TaS_(2) shows considerable potential for applications in broadband optoelectronic ***,its NLO characteristics and related applications have rarely been ***,1T-TaS_(2) nanosheets are prepared by chemical vapor *** ultrafast carrier dynamics in the 400–1100 nm range and broadband NLO performance in the 515–2500 nm range are systematically studied using femtosecond *** obvious saturable absorption phenomenon is observed in the visible to IR *** nonlinear absorption coefficient is measured to be-22.60±0.52 cm MW-1under 1030 nm,which is larger than that of other typical 2D saturable absorber(SA)materials(graphene,black phosphorus,and MoS_(2))under similar experimental *** on these findings,using 1T-TaS_(2) as a new SA,passively Q-switched laser operations are successfully performed at 1.06,1.34,and 1.94μ*** results highlight the promise of 1T-TaS_(2) for broadband optical modulators and provide a potential candidate material system for mid-IR nonlinear optical applications.

The Preparation of Nanosized Pd/ZSM-23 Bifunctional Catalysts for n-Hexadecane Hydroisomerization by Employing PHMB as the Growth Modifi er

The development of highly effective metal-zeolite bifunctional catalysts for the hydroisomerization of n-alkanes is a paramount strategy to produce second-generation biofuels with high *** this study,polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride(PHMB)is precisely added to the initial gel to synthesize nanosized ZSM-23 zeolites(Z23-x PH).Due to orientation adsorption and steric hindrance effects of PHMB,each sample of Z23-x PH demonstrates enhanced mesoporosity in comparison with the conventional Z23-C ***,the Bronsted acid density of the Z23-x PH samples is also signifi cantly reduced due to a reduction in the distribution of framework Al at T2-T5 *** corresponding Pd/23-C and Pd/Z23-x PH bifunctional catalysts with 0.5 wt%Pd loading for n-hexadecane hydroisomerization are prepared by incorporating ZSM-23 zeolites as acid *** to the catalytic test results,the suitable addition of PHMB can effectively promote the iso-hexadecane *** Pd/Z23-2PH catalyst with an n_(PHMB)/n(_Si)molar ratio of 0.002 demonstrates the highest maximum iso-hexadecane yield of 74.1%at an n-hexadecane conversion of 88.3%.Therefore,the employment of PHMB has provided a simple route for the development of highly effective Pd/ZSM-23 catalysts for n-alkane hydroisomerization.

Surface passivation by multifunctional carbon dots toward highly efficient and stable inverted perovskite solar cells

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is widely used as an active immunotherapeutic agent in clinical metastatic cancers. However, its therapeutic concentrations do not last long due to its short half-life. Thus, only a transient proliferation of the anti-cancer CD8+ T cells can be achieved, resulting in poor efficacy. Therefore, the aim of this work was to create a system that promotes CD8+ T cell proliferation at the tumor site using IL-2 persistently present and activates an anti-cancer immune response. This goal was achieved by the design of the IL-2-loaded polypeptide nanoparticles (P-IL-2) where methoxy poly(ethylene glycol) block poly-[(N-2-hydroxyethyl)-aspartamide] phenylboronic acid was used to encapsulate IL-2 through boron-nitrogen coordination with poly(L-lysine). P-IL-2 significantly prolonged the circulation time of IL-2 and achieved a selective drug release at the tumor site in the presence of high levels of reactive oxygen species, thus activating an anti-cancer immune response and exerting a better anti-cancer effect. The half-life of P-IL-2 was 3.15-fold higher than that of IL-2, and the quantity of CD8+ T cells after using P-IL-2 was 1.89-fold higher than that after using IL-2. In addition, the combination of P-IL-2 and anti-CTLA-4 monoclonal antibody resulted in an enhanced immune activation. Hence, this work provides a new approach to improve the efficacy of IL-2 in anti-cancer immunotherapy.

Optical chaos communication and key distribution have been extensively demonstrated with high-speed advantage but only within the metropolitan-area network range of which the transmission distance is restricted to around 300 *** secure-transmission requirement of the backbone fiber link,the critical threshold is to realize long-reach chaos ***,we propose and demonstrate a scheme of long-reach chaos synchronization using fiber relay transmission with hybrid amplification of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier(EDFA)and a distributed fiber Raman amplifier(DFRA).Experiments and simulations show that the hybrid amplification extends the chaos-fidelity transmission distance thanks to that the low-noise DFRA suppresses the amplified spontaneous emission noise and self-phase *** of the hybrid-relay conditions are studied,including launching power,gain ratio of DFRA to EDFA,single-span fiber length,and number of fiber span.A 1040-km chaos synchronization with a synchronization coefficient beyond 0.90 is experimentally achieved,which underlies the backbone network-oriented optical chaos communication and key distribution.

FeMo@porous carbon derived from MIL-53(Fe)@MoO_(3) as excellent heterogeneous electro-Fenton catalyst: Co-catalysis of Mo

An ultra-efficient electro-Fenton catalyst with porous carbon coated Fe-Mo metal(FeMo@PC),was prepared by calcining MIL-53(Fe)@MoO_(3).This FeMo@PC-2 exhibited impressive catalytic performance for sulfamethazine(SMT)degradation with a high turnover frequency value(7.89 L/(g·min)),much better than most of reported *** mineralization current efficiency and electric energy consumption were 83.2%and 0.03 kWh/gTOC,respectively,at lowcurrent(5mA)and small dosage of catalyst(25.0mg/L).The removal rate of heterogeneous electro-Fenton(Hetero-EF)process catalyzed by FeMo@PC-2 was 4.58 times that of Fe@PC/Hetero-EF *** the internal-micro-electrolysis occurred between PC and Fe0,while the co-catalysis of Mo accelerated the rate-limiting step of the Fe^(3+)/Fe^(2+) cycle and greatly improved the H_(2)O_(2)utilization *** results of radical scavenger experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance confirmed the main role of surface-bound hydroxyl radical *** process was feasible to remove diverse organic contaminants such as phenol,2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid,carbamazepine and *** paper enlightened the importance of the doped Mo,which could greatly improve the activity of the iron-carbon heterogeneous catalyst derived from metal-organic frameworks in EF process for efficient removal of organic contaminants.

Influence of pump noise on the health of fish in a large pumping station

The axial flow pump,characteristic of a large flow,is widely used in pumping stations of hydraulic ***,the internal noise of the axial-flow pump of a high sound pressure level is notable,with a great influence on the fishing *** present,the studies of the impact of the noise on fish are mainly focused on the explosion,the offshore wind power plant,the ship and other fields,with little attention on the noise generated by the pumping *** paper applies the combination of the computational fluid dynamics and the Actran to study the sound pressure level distribution in the high-noise area inside the axial-flow pump and the noise distribution in the downstream areas of the pumping *** comparisons are made of the hearing threshold and the hearing damage threshold of fish,and it is revealed that the noise inside the axial-flow pump exceeds the hearing damage threshold of fish,which could lead to the hearing damage of over-pumped ***,the noises emitted from the pumping station to the downstream are beyond the fish hearing threshold and will also have a significant impact on the fish around the pumping *** study can provide a reference for studying the impact of the noise generated by various large-scale water transfer projects on fish.
