Surface treatment technology of downhole water cut sensor

Based on the structure,working principle,and working conditions of conductance water cut sensor,it is revealed that the early failure of the metal electrode of the sensor is due to the comprehensive influence of well fluid erosion,electrochemical corrosion,and oil pollution during its long-term service in the downhole.A technology for electrode surface treatment is proposed using boron-doped diamond(BDD)films to improve the service performance of the modified *** hot wire chemical vapor deposition method was adopted to fabricate BDD film,the boron doping concentration and deposition time were optimized,and fluorination treatment was applied to improve the wear resistance,electrochemical corrosion resistance,and oleophobic property of the BDD film *** results showed that BDD film with boron doping concentration of 6×10^(-3) exhibited high wear resistance and good electrochemical corrosion resistance,and endowed the modified electrode with superior erosion resistance and corrosion *** friction coefficient and wear rate of BDD modified electrode were 92%and 78%lower than those of Invar alloy,also,the low-frequency impedance modulus value of the modified electrode was higher than 1×10^(4) Ω·cm^(2).The BDD film prepared with a deposition time of 8 h had a favorable micro-nano structure owing to small grain size and uniform *** morphology was conducive to enhancing the oleophobic performance of the modified electrode,and its contact angle in the simulated well fluid was high to 102°.The engineering applicability of BDD film modified electrode under simulated working conditions indicated that,the modified electrode had excellent comprehensive performances of erosion resistance,electrochemical corrosion resistance and oil adhesion resistance,and can realize the long-term stable operation of the conductance water cut sensor under harsh downhole conditions.

The interaction between electrode materials and charge carriers is one of the central issues dominating underlying energy storage *** address the notoriously significant volume changes accompanying intercalation or formation of alloy/compounds,we aim to introduce and utilize a weak,reversible Fe-N interaction during the(de)intercalation of ammonium ions(NH_(4)^(+))within iron(Ⅲ)hexacyanoferrate(FeHCF),inspired by manipulating the electrostatic adsorption between N and Fe in the early stages of ammonia synthesis(Bosch-Harber Process,Chemical Engineering)and steel nitriding processes(Metal Industry).Such strategy of switching well-balanced Fe-N interaction is confirmed in between the nitrogen of ammonium ions and highspin Fe in FeHCF,as observed by using X-ray absorption *** resulting material provided an extremely stable energy storage(58 mAh g^(-1) after 10000 cycles at current density of 1 A g^(-1))as well as high-rate performance(23.6 mAh g^(-1) at current density of 10 A g^(-1)).

Stochastic programming based multi-arm bandit offloading strategy for internet of things

In order to solve the high latency of traditional cloud computing and the processing capacity limitation of Internet of Things(IoT)users,Multi-access Edge Computing(MEC)migrates computing and storage capabilities from the remote data center to the edge of network,providing users with computation services quickly and *** this paper,we investigate the impact of the randomness caused by the movement of the IoT user on decision-making for offloading,where the connection between the IoT user and the MEC servers is *** uncertainty would be the main obstacle to assign the task ***,if the assigned task cannot match well with the real connection time,a migration(connection time is not enough to process)would be *** order to address the impact of this uncertainty,we formulate the offloading decision as an optimization problem considering the transmission,computation and *** the help of Stochastic Programming(SP),we use the posteriori recourse to compensate for inaccurate ***,in heterogeneous networks,considering multiple candidate MEC servers could be selected simultaneously due to overlapping,we also introduce the Multi-Arm Bandit(MAB)theory for MEC *** extensive simulations validate the improvement and effectiveness of the proposed SP-based Multi-arm bandit Method(SMM)for offloading in terms of reward,cost,energy consumption and *** results showthat SMMcan achieve about 20%improvement compared with the traditional offloading method that does not consider the randomness,and it also outperforms the existing SP/MAB based method for offloading.

As the limiting factor for an energy storage technique from lab-scale to industrial-scale,cost means not only the price of raw materials but also the simplicity of processing *** this work,the oxygen functionalized carbon materials were obtained from three representative different metamorphic-grade coals,that is,lignite,bitumite,*** functional groups like quinones,carboxylic anhydrides,and lactones are easier to form near defects according to the thermogravimetric-mass spectrometry measurements and density functional theory *** the highest amount of defects and C=O contained functional groups,the low metamorphic-grade lignite derived carbon exhibits a reversible capacity of 259.7 mA h g^(-1)after 50 cycles at 0.03 A g^(-1),best among these micron sized coal-based *** surface active sites contribute highly stable and majority of sodium storage capacity evidenced by in situ Raman spectra and cyclic voltammetry curves at different scan *** coal-based carbon materials in this work offer options for industrial applications of sodium-ion battery anode materials.

Identification of key precursors contributing to the formation of CX_(3)R-type disinfection by-products along the typical full-scale drinking water treatment processes

Identification and characterization of disinfection by-product(DBP)precursors could help optimize drinkingwater treatment processes and improve the quality of *** study comprehensively investigated the characteristics of dissolved organic matter(DOM),the hydrophilicity and molecule weight(MW)of DBP precursor and DBP-associated toxicity along the typical full-scale treatment *** results showed that dissolved organic carbon and dissolved organic nitrogen content,the fluorescence intensity and the SUVA254 value in raw water significantly decreased after the whole treatment *** treatment processes were in favor of the removal of high-MW and hydrophobic DOM,which are important precursors of trihalomethane and haloacetic *** with conventional treatment processes,Ozone integrated with biological activated carbon(O3-BAC)processes enhanced the removal efficiencies of DOM with different MW and hydrophobic fractions,leading to a further decrease in almost all DBP formation potential and DBP-associated ***,almost 50%of the detected DBP precursors in raw water has not been removed after the coagulation-sedimentation-filtration integrated with O3-BAC advanced treatment *** remaining precursors were found to be mainly hydrophilic and low-MW(<1.0 kDa)***,they would largely contribute to the formation of haloacetaldehydes and haloacetonitriles,which dominated the calculated *** current drinking water treatment process could not effectively control the highly toxic DBPs,the removal of hydrophilic and low-MW organics in drinking water treatment plants should be focused on in the future.

Laser-Derived Interfacial Confinement Enables Planar Growth of 2D SnS_(2) on Graphene for High-Flux Electron/Ion Bridging in Sodium Storage

Establishing covalent heterointerfaces with face-to-face contact is promising for advanced energy storage,while challenge remains on how to inhibit the anisotropic growth of nucleated crystals on the ***,faceto-face covalent bridging in-between the 2 D-nanosheets/graphene heterostructure is constructed by intentionally prebonding of laser-manufactured amorphous and metastable nanoparticles on graphene,where the amorphous nanoparticles were designed via the competitive oxidation of Sn-O and Sn-S bonds,and metastable feature was employed to facilitate the formation of the C-S-Sn covalent bonding in-between the *** face-to-face bridging of ultrathin SnS;nanosheets on graphene enables the heterostructure huge covalent coupling area and high loading and thus renders unimpeded electron/ion transfer pathways and indestructible electrode structure,and impressive reversible capacity and rate capability for sodium-ion batteries,which rank among the top in records of the SnS_(2)-based *** work thus provides an alternative of constructing heterostructures with planar interfaces for electrochemical energy storage and even beyond.

Composite solid electrolytes(CSEs)with poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)have become fairly prevalent for fabricating high-performance solid-state lithium metal batteries due to their high Li~+solvating capability,flexible processability and low ***,unsatisfactory room-temperature ionic conductivity,weak interfacial compatibility and uncontrollable Li dendrite growth seriously hinder their *** efforts have been devoted to combining PEO with ceramics either as fillers or major matrix with the rational design of two-phase architecture,spatial distribution and content,which is anticipated to hold the key to increasing ionic conductivity and resolving interfacial compatibility within CSEs and between CSEs/***,a comprehensive review exclusively discussing the design,preparation and application of PEO/ceramic-based CSEs is largely lacking,in spite of tremendous reviews dealing with a broad spectrum of polymers and ***,this review targets recent advances in PEO/ceramicbased CSEs,starting with a brief introduction,followed by their ionic conduction mechanism,preparation methods,and then an emphasis on resolving ionic conductivity and interfacial ***,their applications in solid-state lithium metal batteries with transition metal oxides and sulfur cathodes are ***,a summary and outlook on existing challenges and future research directions are proposed.

Immunity-and-matrix-regulatory cells(IMRCs)derived from human embryonic stem cells have unique abilities in modulating immunity and regulating the extracellular matrix,which could be mass-produced with stable biological *** resemblance to mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)in terms of self-renew and tri-lineage differentiation,the ability of IMRCs to repair the meniscus and the underlying mechanism remains ***,we showed that IMRCs demonstrated stronger immunomodulatory and pro-regenerative potential than umbilical cord MSCs when stimulated by synovial fluid from patients with meniscus *** injection into the knees of rabbits with meniscal injury,IMRCs enhanced endogenous fibrocartilage *** the dose-escalating phase I clinical trial(NCT03839238)with eighteen patients recruited,we found that intra-articular IMRCs injection in patients was safe over 12 months ***,the effective results of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)of meniscus repair and knee functional scores suggested that 5×107 cells are optimal for meniscus injury *** summary,we present the first report of a phase I clinical trial using IMRCs to treat meniscus *** results demonstrated that intra-articular injection of IMRCs is a safe and effective therapy by providing a permissive niche for cartilage regeneration.

The internal circulations on internal mass transfer rate of a single drop in nonlinear uniaxial extensional flow

The internal flow of a droplet in the nonlinear extensional flow field will exhibit more than two internal circulations with the variation of nonlinear intensity(E).In this paper,the effect of positions and sizes of internal circulations on internal mass transfer rate of a single spherical droplet in a nonlinear extensional flow field is studied and compared with that in a linear extensional flow *** simulation results show that when E≥0,there are two symmetrical internal circulations in the droplet,which is the same with that in a linear extensional *** limit value of mass transfer rate Sh is 15,which is equal to that in a linear extensional flow,no matter how large E *** E≤-3/7,the number of internal flow circulation of a droplet increase to four and the transfer rate Sh *** E=-1,the maximum internal transfer rate Sh equals 30 which is twice of that in a linear extensional *** generation of new flow circulations in droplets and the circulation positions will enhance mass transfer when E≤-3/7,which provides a new idea for enhancing the internal mass transfer rate of droplets.

Effect of polyethylene glycol on the crystallization,rheology and foamability of poly(lactic acid)containing in situ generated polyamide 6 nanofibrils

In this study,the rheological properties,crystallization and foaming behavior of poly(lactic acid)with polyamide 6 nanofibrils were examined with polyethylene glycol as a *** 6 particles were deformed into nanofibrils during *** the 10%polyamide 6 case,polyethylene glycol addition reduced the polyamide 6 fibril diameter from 365.53 to 254.63 nm,owing to the smaller polyamide 6 particle size and enhanced interface *** experiments revealed that the viscosity and storage modulus of the composites were increased,which was associated with the three-dimensional entangled network of polyamide 6 *** presence of higher aspect ratio polyamide 6 nanofibrils substantially enhanced the melt strength of the *** isothermal crystallization kinetics results suggested that the polyamide 6 nanofibrils and polyethylene glycol had a synergistic effect on accelerating poly(lactic acid)*** the polyethylene glycol,the crystallization half-time reduced from 103.6 to 62.2 *** foaming results indicated that owing to higher cell nucleation efficiency,the existence of polyamide 6 nanofibrils led to a higher cell density and lower expansion ***,the poly(lactic acid)/polyamide 6 foams exhibited a higher cell density and expansion ratio than that of the foams without polyethylene glycol.
