Global Asymptotic Behavior of Large Solutions for a Class of Semilinear Elliptic Problems

By using Karamata regular variation theory and upper and lower solution method,we investigate the existence and the global asymptotic behavior of large solutions to a class of semilinear elliptic equations with nonlinear convection *** our study,the weight and nonlinearity are controlled by some regularly varying functions or rapid functions,which is very different from the conditions of previous *** results largely extend the previous works,and prove that the nonlinear convection terms do not affect the global asymptotic behavior of classical solutions when the index of the convection terms change in a certain range.

Inhibition of LY294002 in retinal neovascularization via down-regulation the PI3K/AKT-VEGF pathway in vivo and in vitro

AIM： To investigate the effects of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase（PI3 K） inhibitor LY294002 on retinal neovascularization（RNV） in the oxygen-induced retinopathy（OIR） mouse model and human umbilical vein endothelial cells（HUVECs）.METHODS： C57 BL/6 J mice were randomly divided into normoxia-control, OIR-control and LY294002 treatment groups. LY294002 or phosphate-buffered solution was intraperitoneally injected daily into mouse pups from P6 to P9 in LY294002 treatment group or OIR-control group. Morphological and pathological changes in RNV, as well as expression levels of PI3 K, serine-threonine kinase（AKT） and vascular endothelial growth factor（VEGF） were observed. HUVECs treating with LY294002 were exposed to hypoxia; the expression of PI3 K, AKT and VEGF were examined by Western blot and RT-PCR ***： Compared with the OIR-control group, LY294002 significantly inhibit RNV. Adenosine diphosphatase（ADPase） staining and hematoxylin and eosin staining indicated that the clock hour scores of neovascularization and the nuclei of pre-retinal neovascular cells in the LY294002 treatment group were clearly less than those in the OIR-control group（1.41±0.52 vs 6.20±1.21; 10.50±1.58 vs 22.25±1.82, both P〈0.05）. Intravitreal injection of LY294002（in the LY294002 treatment group） markedly decreased PI3 K/AKT-VEGF expression compared with the OIR-control group by immunohistochemistry, Western blotting and RT-PCR（all P〈0.05）. In HUVECs treated with hypoxia, expression of PI3 K, AKT and VEGF were downregulated in the hypoxia-LY294002 group（all P〈0.05）.CONCLUSION： The PI3 K inhibitor LY294002 can inhibit RNV by downregulating PI3 K, AKT, and VEGF expression in vivo and in vitro. LY294002 may provide an effective method for preventing retinopathy of prematurity（ROP）.

To reduce the risk of implant-associated infections,we previously designed and developed a series of medical copper(Cu)-bearing titanium alloys that release Cu ions and hence play an antibacterial ***,both excessive and deficient Cu levels adversely affect human health;therefore,the aim of the present study was to comprehensively evaluate the short-and long-term biosafety of Cu-bearing titanium alloys(Ti6 Al4V-Cu and Ti-Cu)both in vitro and in ***,the predominant kinetic mechanism of Cu ions release and its effect on biosafety were also *** results indicate that the biocompatibility of the Cu-bearing titanium alloys meets the requirements of ISO standards and the Cu ion release kinetics display a good correlation over the entire time period in the normal zero-order model with an almost constant release *** release rate maintained at a parts per billion level safe for humans;consequently,we can conclude that our Cu-bearing titanium alloys have satisfactory biocompatibility.

Analysis on the Expression of TaMOR Gene in Two Different Spring Wheat Varieties at Different Years

[Objectives]The TaMOR gene is a gene that affects the initiation and growth of the secondary roots of wheat,but the expression patterns in different parts of the wheat root system and the differences in expression in different varieties are not *** study aimed to investigate the expression of the TaMOR gene in the seminal roots,secondary roots and root base.[Methods]Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR technology was used to analyze the relative expression levels of the TaMOR gene in seminal roots,secondary roots and root base of seedlings of ancient variety Monkhead and modern variety Longchun 35.[Results]There was no significant difference in the number of seminal roots between Longchun 35 and Monkhead,and the numbers of seminal roots of the two varieties did not change significantly during the three sampling *** number of secondary roots and shoot dry weight of Longchun 35 were significantly higher than those of Monkhead,and the number of secondary roots and shoot dry weight of both varieties increased with the sampling time *** root dry weight of Monkhead increased with the sampling time,while Longchun 35 showed the largest value at the second *** fluorescence quantitative PCR results showed that for 13-day seedlings,the relative expression of the TaMOR gene in root base was significantly higher than that in the seminal roots and secondary *** was no significant difference in the relative expression of gene TaMOR in the root system of Monkhead and Longchun 35.[Conclusions]The root allocation of gramineous crops decreases with the breeding years,and the difference in gene TaMOR expression level needs further study.
