In this paper, two new existence and quasi-variational inequality problems are theorems of solutions to inverse variational proved using the Fan-Knaster-Kuratowski- Mazurkiewicz （KKM） theorem and the Kakutani-Fan-Glicksberg fixed point theorem. Upper semicontinuity and lower semicontinuity of the solution mapping and the approximate solution mapping to the parametric inverse variational inequality problem are also discussed under some suitable conditions. An application to a road pricing problem is given.

Since the impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR), the riparian zone has been subjected to numerous environmental changes. This study was conducted to recognize the distribution of grass roots and its impacts on soil nutrients in the water level fluctuation zone of TGR. Roots of four predominant herbaceous plants in the study area, specifically, Cynodon dactylon, Hemarthria altissima, Hemarthria compressa, and Paspalum paspaloides, and their corresponding relation with soil nutrient contents were investigated. Root surface area density was determined with Win RHIZO, and the relationships of root distribution with soil depths and soil nutrient contents were studied. The results indicates that most roots are distributed in the top soil layer of 0-10 cm. Estimated root surface area density for the selected grass species ranges from 0.16 to 13.44 cm^2/cm^3, and decreases exponentially with an increase in soil depth. Soil organic matter and total nitrogen contents are significantly lower on bare control area than the corresponding values on the grasslands. Total nutrient contents on grasslands of C. dactylon and H. compressa are higher than those of other grass areas. Root length density and root surface area density are significantly correlated with soil organic matter and total nitrogen content for the four grasslands. The present results suggests that plant roots have significant effects on the distribution of soil nutrients in soil profiles in the riparian zone along the TGR. Nevertheless, additional investigations are needed to reveal the specific interactions between plant roots distribution, soil nutrients and water level fluctuations.

Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)has a poor prognosis because of its aggressive characteristics and lack of targeted therapies.1 Recently,it has been reported that TNBC is sensitiveto ferroptosis,an iron-dependent type of programmed cell death,making it a potential target for the treatment of TNBC.2 Breast cancer stem cells(BCSCs),a small population of cancer cells that possess the infinite proliferative potential and tumor-initiating properties,play important roles in drug resistance.3 The responses of BCsCs to ferroptosis-inducing agents are controversial and remain elusive.

There is an increased demand for the accurate prediction of fog events in the sichuan Basin(SCB) using numerical methods. A dense fog event that occurred over the SCB on 22 December 2016 was investigated. The results show that this dense fog event was influenced by the southwest of a low pressure with a weak horizontal pressure gradient and high relative humidity. This fog event showed typical diurnal variations. The fog began to form at 1800 UTC on 21 December 2016(0200 local standard time on 22 December 2016) and dissipated at 0600 UTC on 22 December 2016(1400 local standard time on 22 December 2016). The Weather research and Forecasting model was able to partially reproduce the main features of this fog event and the diurnal variation in the local mountain to basin winds. The simulated horizontal visibility and liquid water content were used to characterize the fog. The mountain to basin winds had an important role in the diurnal variation of the fog event. The positive feedback mechanism between the fog and mountain to basin winds was good for the formation and maintain of the fog during the night. During the day, the mountain to basin wind displayed a transition from downslope flows to upslope flows. Water vapor evaporated easily from the warm, strong upslope winds, which resulted in the dissipation of fog during the day. The topography surrounding the SCB favored the lifting and condensation of air parcels in the lower troposphere as a result of the low height of the lifting condensation level.

Novel indium nitride （INN） leaf-like nanosheets and nanowires have been grown on Si substrate by chemical vapor deposition method. The characterization results indicate that the samples are single-crystalline, and the growth direction of the nanowires and nanoleaves is [0001]. The growth mechanism of the InN nanoleaves is following the pattern of vapor-liquid-solid process with a three-step growth process. In addition, the room temperature photoluminescence spectra of two nanostructures show band-to-band emissions around 0.706 eV, where the emission from single nanoleaf is stronger than nanowire, showing potential for applications in optoelectronic devices.

As the quantity of waste tires increases,more pyrolysis carbon black(CBp),a type of low value-added carbon black,is being ***,the application of CBp has been ***,it is necessary to identify and expand applications of *** work focuses on the preparation of activated carbon(AC)from CBp using the physicochemical activation of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))and potassium hydroxide(KOH).Thereafter,AC is applied to the electrode of the electrical double-layer capacitor(EDLC).The AC prepared by CO_(2)/KOH activation exhibited a hierarchical pore *** specific surface area increased from 415 to 733 m^(2)g^(−1),and in combination with low ash content of 1.51%,ensured abundant ion diffusion channels and active sites to store *** EDLC comprising the AC(AC-2)electrode prepared by excitation of CO_(2)(300 sccm)and KOH had a reasonable gravimetric specific capacitance of 192 F g^(−1)at 0.5 A g^(−1),and exhibited a good rate capability of 73%at 50 A g^(−1)in a three-electrode ***,the EDLC device comprising the AC-2 electrode delivered excellent cycling stability(capacitance retention of 106%after 10000 cycles at 2 A g^(−1)in a two-electrode system).Furthermore,a symmetric supercapacitor based on an AC electrode that exhibits a supreme energy density of 4.7 Wh kg^(−1)and a maximum power density of 6362.6 W kg^(−1)is demonstrated.

A series of single-phase and color-tunable phosphors Sr_(2)La_(3)(SiO_(4))_(3)F:0.15Tb^(3+),xSm^(3+)(SLSOF:0.15Tb^(3+),xSm^(3+)) was prepared using solid-state *** X-ray diffraction(XRD) was used to characterize the phase of the as-prepared *** synthesized phosphors have apatite-type structure without other ***^(3+) and Tb^(3+) ions substitute La^(3+) into the lattice and form a single-phase solid *** elements are evenly distributed in the sample according to the scanning electron microscopy(SEM) *** crystal structure of the host phosphor was refined by the Rietveld *** optical properties were studied in detail by investigation of the luminescence and diffuse spectra,fluorescence decay curves and energy transfer *** phosphor color can be changed from green(0.29,0.48) to yellow/orange and red(0.57,0.42) via adjusting the doping ratio of Sm^(3+).The SLSOF:0.15Tb^(3+),xSm^(3+)phosphors can emit typical multicolor light such as green,yellow,orange and red with gradually increasing Sm^(3+)doping *** results indicate the occurrence of the energy transfer which results in the color-tunable properties of the phosphors.

Observed Trends in Various Aspects of Compound Heat Waves across China from 1961 to 2015

Based on combined thresholds of daily maximum and minimum temperatures, a compound heat wave is defined, and then changes in multiple aspects of such heat waves in China are estimated between 1961 and 2015. Our results intriguingly indicate that severe compound heat waves in northern China are characterized by excessively high in- tensity within short duration, while long duration determines great disaster-causing potential of severe events in the south. In the past few decades, large areas of China have experienced longer, stronger, and more frequent compound heat waves. Northern China has witnessed dramatic intensity increases, with a maximum amplification over 5~C dec- ade-~; while remarkable lengthening in duration has been mostly recorded in the south, with a maximum trend over 1 day decade-1. The spatial extent affected by compound heat waves has significantly expanded since the 1960s, with the largest expanding rate over 6% decade-1 detected in North China and Northeast China. These systematic assess- ments serve to deepen our understanding of observed changes in compound heat waves across China, and may fur- ther shed some light on future adaptations and mitigations against an increasingly wanning climate.
