We assessed the global incidence,mortality,and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)associated with various liver diseases,including alcohol-related liver disease(ALD),hepatitis B/C virus infections(HBV or HCV),liver cancer,metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD),and other chronic liver diseases,from the 2019 Global Burden of Disease ***,we analyzed the global trends in hepatology research and drug *** 2000 to 2019,prevalence rates increased for ALD,MASLD and other liver diseases,while they decreased for HBV,HCV,and liver *** with a high socio-demographic index(SDI)exhibited the lowest mortality rates and *** burden of liver diseases varied due to factors like sex and *** nine representative countries,MASLD,along with hepatobiliary cancer,showed highest increase in funding in hepatology ***,the major research categories in hepatology papers from 2000 to 2019 were cancer,pathobiology,and *** United States(U.S.)was at the forefront of hepatology research,with China gradually increasing its influence over *** worldwide are increasingly focusing on studying the communication between the liver and other organs,while underestimating the research on ***,HCV,and MASLD were the primary diseases targeted for therapeutic development in clinical ***,the proportion of new drugs approved for the treatment of liver diseases was relatively low among all newly approved drugs in the U.S.,China,Japan,and the European ***,there were no approved drug for the treatment of ALD in the world.

Extended observer-based consensus tracking control for MASs with external disturbance and dynamic event-triggered strategy

This article explores the leader-following consensus tracking(LFCK) control issues of multi-agent systems(MASs)in the presence of external disturbances and general directed fixed communication topology. Its purpose is to enable all follower agents to achieve consensus tracking for the leader agent. Firstly, this article introduces an extended state observer for estimating each follower agent's unknown state and external disturbance. Subsequently, on the basis of the above-extended state observer and a dynamic event-triggered strategy, a distributed consensus tracking control protocol with disturbances restraint is developed,which can reduce the MAS's update frequency on the premise of ensuring the control protocol's effectiveness. Furthermore,the MAS's stability and the absence of Zeno behavior are analyzed and proved by the established Lyapunov functional and linear matrix inequality theory. Finally, the validity and feasibility of the proposed approach are validated through a group of comparative numerical simulation experiments.

Concentric Circular Approach in Mesoporous Silica Transition Process from Hexagonal to Vesicular Structure

We studied the synthesis of mesoporous silica from cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide（CTAB） and so- dium dodecyl sulfate（SDS） at different molar ratios（R）. X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron spectroscopy （SEM）, transmission electron spectroscopy（TEM） and nitrogen sorption analysis were then used to further investigate the internal relationship among different morphologies and structures, as well as the mechanism of the transition from hexagonal to vesicular structure. The results reveal that as R increased, a consistent and gradual transition occurred via a concentric circular secondary structure formed. The antagonistic effect between the decreasing curvature of surfactant micelle and increasing curvature of secondary structures may be the reason for the complex morphologies synthesized, and the increasing bending energy AGb is the main driving force for the transition.

Incorporating noncanonical amino acids (nc AAs) beyond these naturally occurring ones into proteins has proven to be a powerful method for modifying their properties, leading to significant advancements in both fundamental and applied sciences. Currently, over 300 nc AAs can be genetically encoded with varying degrees of efficiency. Thus, genetic code expansion(GCE) technology, which extends the range of amino acids available for protein synthesis, represents a major and exciting area of research. A GCE system precisely incorporates nc AAs into proteins using custom-designed orthogonal aminoacyl-t RNA synthetases (aa RSs) and t RNA pairs along with specific codons.

Describing H* adsorption on dual-active sites of single-atom-metals and frustrated-Lewis-pairs for reverse water-gas shift reaction

Acquiring descriptors to guide catalyst design is an ideal but challenging topic in the field of heterogeneous ***,the adsorption energy of H*(Ead（H）) has been established to describe the catalytic activity of dual-active sites of single-atom metals and frustrated Lewis pairs （FLPs） on the porous nanorod of CeO2surface （M1/PN-CeO2） for reverse water-gas shift （RWGS）reaction.H2and CO2molecules are adsorbed and activated on single-atom metals and FLP sites,respectively,facilitating the RWGS reaction through the H*spillover from single-atom metals to *** investigations illustrate that the generation of H*on the single-atom metals and subsequent migration towards FLP are critical steps,determining the performance of M1/PN–CeO2for RWGS reaction.A volcanic correlation is observed between Ead（H） and catalytic activity of M1/PN–CeO2for *** Pt1/PN–CeO2catalysts with a minimal deviation of-0.01 eV from the experimentally optimized Ead（H） of -1.88 eV,exhibited an exceptional turnover frequency of 33,605 h-1and surpassed a turnover number of 20,000,000 for each Pt active site during a period of 650 h at 600°*** findings could pave the way for the rational design of highly active and durable catalysts for RWGS reaction.

This work demonstrates a novel polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte consisting of methyl methacrylate,lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and fluoroethylene *** polymerization of MMA was initiated by the amino compounds following an anionic catalytic *** plays both roles including the initiator and Li ion source in the polymer ***,lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide has difficulty in initiating the polymerization reaction of methyl methacrylate monomer,a very high concentration of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide is needed for initiating the ***,the fluoroethylene carbonate additive can work as a supporter to facilitate the degree of dissociation of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and increase its initiator capacity due to the high dielectric *** as-prepared poly-methyl methacrylate-based polymer electrolyte has a high ionic conductivity(1.19×10^(−3)S cm^(−1)),a wide electrochemical stability window(5 V vs Li^(+)/Li),and a high Li ion transference number(t_(Li^(+)))of 0.74 at room temperature(RT).Moreover,this polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte can effectively work as an artificial protective layer on Li metal anode,which enabled the Li symmetric cell to achieve a long-term cycling performance at 0.2 mAh cm^(−2)for 2800 *** LiFePO_(4)battery with polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte-modified Li metal anode shows a capacity retention of 91.17%after 800 cycles at 0.5 *** work provides a facile and accessible approach to manufacturing poly-methyl methacrylate-based polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte and shows great potential as an interphase in Li metal batteries.

Spinal cord injury(SCI)is one of the most devastating traumas,and the aberrant proliferation of astrocytes usually causes neurological ***,the mechanism underlying astrocyte over-proliferation after SCI is ***2c(glutamate ionotropic receptor type 2c)plays an essential role in cell *** bioinformatic analysis indicated that Grin2c and Ca^(2+)transport functions were inhibited in astrocytes after *** of Grin2c stimulated astrocyte proliferation by inhibiting the Ca^(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase 2b(CaMK2b)pathway in *** screening different inflammatory factors,interleukin 1α(IL1α)was further found to inhibit Grin2c/Ca^(2+)/CaMK2b and enhance astrocyte proliferation in an oxidative damage *** of IL1αusing neutralizing antibody resulted in increased Grin2c expression and the inhibition of astrocyte proliferation ***,this study suggests that IL1αpromotes astrocyte proliferation by suppressing the Grin2c/Ca^(2+)/CaMK2b pathway after SCI,revealing a novel pathological mechanism of astrocyte proliferation,and may provide potential targets for SCI repair.

Oleanolic acid inhibits colon cancer cell stemness and reverses chemoresistance by suppressing JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway

Background:Oleanolic acid(OA),a pentacyclic triterpenoid exhibiting speciﬁc anti-cancer properties and highly effective antioxidant activity,was isolated from traditional Chinese medicinal ***,the OA that impacts colon cancer(CC)cells and its underlying mechanisms remain poorly ***:The cytotoxic effect of OA alone or OA-5-Fluorouracil(5-FU)combination on normal and CC cells was analyzed by methyl thiazolyl diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide(MTT).Then,the impact of OA on CC cell lines(LoVo and HT-29)proliferation and stemness were measured using colon formation and tumorsphere formation ***-binding transcription factor 4(Oct4),Prominin-1(CD133),Nanog,and transcription factor SOX-2(SOX2)are cell stemness-related indicators whose expression was assessed usingﬂuorescence qPCR assay,Western blotting,and *** effect of OA on the proliferative potency of CC cells was evaluated using an in vivo ***:The stem-like characteristics and clone production of colon cancer cells were markedly reduced by OA alone or in combination with ***,OA increases the susceptibility of CC cells to 5-FU by blocking the cell stemness-related markers(CD133,Nanog,SOX2,and Oct4)expression levels both in vitro and in vivo,as well as by inactivating the activator of transcription 3(STAT3 signaling)and Janus kinase 2/signal transducer(JAK2).Conclusion:Theseﬁndings imply that oleanolic acid,both in vitro and in vivo,suppresses the JAK2/STAT3 pathway,which in turn reverses chemoresistance and decreases colon cancer cell ***,by reducing the recommended amount of 5-FU,this strategy may improve chemotherapeutic effectiveness and minimize undesired side effects.

Interconnectivity is the key characteristic of bone tissue engineering scaffold modulating cell migration,blood vessels invasion and transport of nutrient and ***,efforts and understanding of the interconnectivity of porous Mg is limited due to the diverse architectures of pore struts and pore size distribution of Mg scaffold *** this work,biomimetic hierarchical porous Mg scaffolds with tailored interconnectivity as well as pore size distribution were prepared by template replication of infiltration *** scaffold with better interconnectivity showed lower mechanical *** interconnected pores would enhance the interconnectivity of the whole scaffold and reduce the change of ion concentration,pH value and osmolality of the degradation microenvironment due to the lower specific surface ***,the degradation rates of five tested Mg scaffolds were no different because of the same geometry of strut *** cell culture and evaluation of cell density at both sides of four typical Mg scaffolds indicated that cell migration through hierarchical porous Mg scaffolds could be enhanced by not only bigger interconnected pore size but also larger main pore *** summary,design of interconnectivity in terms of pore size distribution could regulate mechanical strength,microenvironment in cell culture condition and cell migration potential,and beyond that it shows great potential for personalized therapy which could facilitate the regeneration process.

Pathway for high-energy density LiMnFePO4 cathodes

Polyanion cathodes are credited for its thermal stability and better safety, no matter in lithium ion batteries or sodium ion batteries. Polyanion oxides with phosphate groups came to the public's attention in 1997, and the representative material is LiFePO4, which has been widely applied and plays a huge role in the field of powder batteries and energy storage system. However, owing to the low lithiation potentials and storage sites, the energy densities of polyanion cathodes have been restricted, resulting of low-endurance and limited application scenarios. Accordingly, here, we use cheap and environmental friendly raw materials as precursors to synthesis high energy density LiMn0.6Fe0.4PO4@C cathode by a simple spray-drying and high temperature calcination *** self-designed liquid polyacrylonitrile（LPAN） is added for the intention of nanoparticle coating, conductive network construction and particle granulation. The low-cost and carbon-coated LiMn0.6Fe0.4PO4cathode exhibits excellent reversible capacity, low electrochemical polarization and excellent rate capacity, which maintains93.5% capacity retention after cycling 1000 times at 5C. The work introduces a new avenue to fabricate olivine structure cathodes with outstanding electrochemical performance for the high energy density lithium ion batteries.
