research on the mechanical properties of brain tissue has received extensive ***,most of the current studies have been conducted at the phenomenological *** this study,the indentation method was used to explore the difference in local mechanical properties among different regions of the porcine cerebral ***,hematoxylin-eosin and immunofluorescence staining methods were used to determine the correlation between the cellular density at different test points and mechanical properties of the porcine cerebral *** frontal lobe exhibited the strongest *** temporal lobe displayed the lowest sensitivity to changes in the indentation speed,and the occipital lobe exhibited the highest shear ***,the shear modulus of different areas of the cerebral cortex was negatively correlated with the total number of local cells per unit area and positively correlated with the number of neuronal cell bodies per unit *** of the mechanical properties of the local brain tissue can provide basic data for the establishment of a finite element model of the brain and mechanical referential information for the implantation position of brain chips.

This paper investigates the global synchronization in an array of linearly coupled neural networks with constant and delayed coupling. By a simple combination of adaptive control and linear feedback with the updated laws, some sufficient conditions are derived for global synchronization of the coupled neural networks. The coupling configuration matrix is assumed to be asymmetric, which is more coincident with the realistic network. It is shown that the approaches developed here extend and improve the earlier works. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Wave properties of solitons in a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate are investigated in *** demonstrate that dark solitons in one of components admit interference and tunneling behavior,in sharp contrast to the scalar dark solitons and vector dark *** analyses of interference properties show that spatial interference patterns are determined by the relative velocity of solitons,while temporal interference patterns depend on the velocities and widths of two solitons,differing from the interference properties of scalar bright ***,for an attractive interactions system,we show that interference effects between the two dark solitons can induce some short-time density humps(whose densities are higher than background density).Moreover,the maximum hump value is remarkably sensitive to the variation of the solitons'*** a repulsive interactions system,the temporal-spatial interference periods of dark-bright solitons have lower *** simulation results suggest that interference patterns for the dark-bright solitons are more robust against noises than bright-dark *** explicit interference properties can be used to measure the velocities and widths of *** is expected that these interference behaviors can be observed experimentally and can be used to design matter wave soliton interferometer in vector systems.

Phase Evolution Study and Optimization of the Heat Treatment Process for High Current Capacity Bi-2223 Tapes

Powder in tube process（PIT） was adopted for the fabrication of single filament Bi-2223 tapes, and a heat treatment process including the first heat treatment（HT1）, intermediate rolling（IR）, and second heat treatment（HT2） was performed. The phase evolution mechanism and microstructure changes during these heat treatment processes were systematically discussed. The influences of HT1 parameters on the phase evolution process of Bi-2223 tapes were discussed. With the optimized HT1 process, a proper Bi-2223 content of about 90% was achieved. HT2 process was also optimized by adding a post annealing process. An obvious increase of current capacity was obtained due to the enhancement of intergrain connections. Single filament Bi-2223 tapes with the critical current of Ic-90 A were fabricated with the optimized sintering process.

A novel （4-ferrocenylethyne） phenylamine functionalized graphene sheets （FEPA-GR）, coupling with chitosan （CS） were used as a signal amplification platform for simultaneous and sensitive determination of dopamine （DA） and acetaminophen （AC）. In this work, FEPA used as electron transfer mediator can be immobilized on GR surface via strong π-π stacking interaction between the conjugate chain of FEPA and GR, which effectively prevents FEPA electron mediator leaking from the electrode surface and amplified the signal. Transmission electron microscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy and electrochemical experiments results are all demonstrated the strong π-π stacking interaction between FEPA and GR. The resulted biosensor exhibited a fast response, remarkable electrocatalytic activity, perfect anti-interference ability and good stability for simultaneous detection of DA and AC. Under the optimum conditions, the oxidation peak currents of DA and AC were linearly correlated to their concentrations in the range of 2.0-135.0 μmol·L-1 and 0.3--80.0μmol·L 1, respectively. The lower detection limits for DA and AC were 0.30 and 0.05 μmol·L-1, respectively. The feasibility of the proposed method was validated by successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of DA and AC in serum samples with the standard addition method.

We investigate domain wall excitations in a two-component Bose–Einstein condensate with two-body interactions and pair-transition effects. It is shown that domain wall excitations can be described exactly by kink and anti-kink excitations in each component. The domain wall solutions are given analytically, which exist with different conditions compared with the domain wall reported before. Bubble-droplet structure can be also obtained from the fundamental domain wall, and their interactions are investigated analytically. Especially, domain wall interactions demonstrate some striking particle transition dynamics. These striking transition effects make the domain wall admit quite different collision behavior, in contrast to the collision between solitons or other nonlinear waves. The collisions between kinks induce some phase shift, which makes the domain wall change greatly. Their collisions can be elastic or inelastic with proper combination of fundamental domain walls. These characters can be used to manipulate one domain wall by interacting with other ones.

Coagulation followed by sedimentation, as a conventional technique in the water treatment plant, can be the first line of defense against exposures of carbon nanotubes （CNTs） to aquatic organisms and human beings, which has been rarely documented. This study investigated the removal of dispersant-stabilized CNT suspensions by poly aluminum chloride （PAC1） and KAl（SO4）2-12H20 （alum）, with a focus on the effects of dispersant type, coagulant type and dosage. PAC1 performed better than alum in the removal of tannic acid-, humic acid-, and sodium dodecyl benzenesulfonate-stabilized CNTs, but worse for polyethylene glycol octylphenyl ether （TX100）-stabilized CNTs. Neither coagulant could effectively precipitate cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide-stabilized CNTs. The removal by PACl first increased up to a plateau and then decreased with the continued increase of coagulant dosage. However, the removal rates leveled off but did not decrease after achieving their highest level with the continued addition of alum. The coagulation and flocculation of the CNT suspensions by PACl could be regulated mainly by the mechanism of adsorption charge neutralization, whereas the coagulation by alum mainly involved electrical double-layer compression.

In dynamic membrane bioreactors(DMBRs), a dynamic membrane(DM) forms on a support material to act as the separation membrane for solids and liquids. In this study, batch filtration tests were carried out in a DMBR using nylon mesh(25 μm) as support material to filtrate sludge suspensions of variable properties from three different sources to evaluate the effects on the short-term DM formation process(within 240 min). Furthermore, the extended Derjaguin–Landau–Verwey–Overbeek(XDLVO) theory was applied to analyze the sludge adhesion and cohesion behaviors on the mesh surface to predict quantitative parameters of the short-term DM formation process(including initial formation and maturation stage). The filtration results showed that the order of the initial DM formation time(permeate turbidity <1 NTU as an indicator) was as follows: sludge with poor settleability and dewaterability < normal sludge

Background Over the past two decades,the clinical presentation of renal masses has evolved,where the rising incidence of small renal masses （SRMs） and concomitant minimal invasive treatments have led to noteworthy changes in paradigm of kidney *** study was to perform a proportional meta-analysis of observational studies on perioperative complications and oncological outcomes of partial nephrectomy （PN） and radiofrequency ablation （RFA）.Methods The US National Library of Medicine＇s life science database （Medline） and the Web of Science were exhaustly searched before August 1,*** stage 1 SRMs that were treated with PN or RFA were included,and perioperative complications and oncological outcomes of a total of 9 565 patients were *** Patients who underwent RFA were significantly older （P ＜0.001）.In the subanalysis of stage T1 tumors,the major complication rate of PN was greater than that of RFA （laparoscopic partial nephrectomy （LPN）/robotic partial nephrectomy （RPN）：7.2％,open partial nephrectomy （OPN）：7.9％,RFA：3.1％,both P ＜0.001）.Minor complications occurred more frequently after RFA （RFA：13.8％,LPN/RPN：7.5％,OPN：9.5％,both P ＜0.001）.By multivariate analysis,the relative risks for minor complications of RFA,compared with LPN and OPN,were 1.7-fold and 1.5-fold greater （both P ＜0.01）,*** treated with RFA had a greater local progression rate than those treated by PN （RFA：4.6％,LPN/RPN：1.2％,OPN：1.9％,both P ＜0.001）.By multivariate analysis,the local tumor progression for RFA versus LPN/RPN and OPN were 4.5-fold and 3.1-fold greater,respectively （both P ＜0.001）.Conclusions The current data illustrate that both PN and RFA are viable strategies for the treatment of *** with PN,RFA showed a greater risk of local tumor progression but a lower major complication rate,which is considered better for poor *** is with no doubt the golden treatment for SRMs,and LPN has been widely accepted as the first option for nephro
